Abstract

This research is intended to determine the effect of extracting materials and appropriate levels of water content on cocoa seeds, and whether or not there are any differences between the viability and the vigor of cocoa beans. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Seed Science and Technology of the Faculty of Agriculture of Syiah Kuala University. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design of 3 x 3 factorial pattern with 3 x replications, so there were 9 treatment combinations and 27 experimental units. The factors studied were extracts consisting of 3 levels, namely: husk ash, sawdust and whiting and three levels of air three levels, namely: 30%, 25%, and 15%. Measurable benchmarks include Growing Potential (PT), Growing Power (DB), Vigor Index (IV), Growth Rate (KCT), Growth Unity (KST), Time Required to Achieve 50% of Total Relative Germination (T50) and Normal Dry Sprout Weight (BKKN). The results of this study showed that extracting foods are very strong on the viability and strength of the cocoa seeds, which is balanced by the growth potential benchmarks (PT), power growth (DB), growth rate (KCT), growing lavency (KST), the time required to achieve 50% germination total (T50), vigor index (IV) and normal germination weight (BKKN). Meanwhile, fertility rate grew (KST), time needed to reach 50% total relative germination (T50), spirit index (IV) and normal dried germination (BKKN). The results of this study can be concluded that there is a very real interaction between the treatment of extracting materials with cocoa beans content levels. The interaction between sawdust and 30% moisture content is the best combination. Reproduction extracting materials to the effectiveness of increasing viability and vigor of cocoa seeds. The best extraction material is found in the sawdust extracting material. The degree of air hardness to the strength of increased viability and strength of cocoa seed. The best levels of cocoa seed air are found at 30%. Keywords: cocoa, extract, seed

Abstract

This research aims to knows the influence the types of organic fertilizer towards the  growth and yield some varieties of sweet corn, as well as the interaction between the types of organic fertilizer with varieties of sweet corn. This research was carried out in April to July 2016 at the Experimental Farm Agriculture Faculty of Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh. Research design used was Random Design Group Factorial pattern of 4 x 3 with 3 replicates. Factors that researched the types of organic fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely: without the use of fertilizer, manure, compost and mycorrhiza. The factor varieties consisting of 3 levels, namely varieties of Bonanza, varieties of Jambore and varieties of Sweet Boy. The results showed that use of mycorrhiza growth and yield of sweet corn plants are better, whereas varieties of Sweet Boy is a better variety. The next better interactions present in these types of mycorrhiza with use of organic fertilizer varieties of Sweet Boy on a high percentage of the crop parameters age 30 days after planting (DAP), number of leaves the age of 15, 30, and 45 (DAP) and potential outcomes. The real effect on plant height parameters age 45 HST, the length of the cob without bractea, the heavy cob with bractea each plants, and infection of mycorrhiza on plant roots.Keywords : Compost, manure, mycorrhiza, organic fertilizer, sweet corn, varieties

Abstract

Percobaan ini dimaksudkan untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai pengaruh komposisi media tanam dan konsentrasi pupuk organik cair GDM juga interaksi antara masing-masing perlakuan pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan bibit kakao. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Kebun Eksperimen Fakultas Pertanian USK Darussalam Banda Aceh di April-Juni 2020. Analisis data menggunakan RAK faktorial tersusun dari 2 faktor: komposisi media tanam dan konsentrasi POC GDM. Pengulangan perlakuan 3 kali dan seluruhnya menjadi 36 satuan percobaan. Hasil percobaan melaporkan komposisi media tanaman berpengaruh sangat nyata pada parameter pertambahan tinggi bibit, peningkatan diameter pangkal batang dan pertambahan jumlah daun 30 HST, pertambahan diameter pangkal batang 60 HST, peningkatan jumlah daun, volume akar, bobot akar basah dan bobot kering 90 HST. Berpengaruh nyata pada peningkatan tinggi dan peningkatan jumlah daun 60 HST, peningkatan diameter pangkal batang, pertambahan jumlah daun dan panjang akar 90 HST. Konsentrasi POC GDM menunjukkan pengaruh sangat nyata di peningkatan jumlah daun 30 HST, peningkatan diameter pangkal batang, volume akar dan bobot basah pada 90 HST. Pengaruh nyata pada pertambahan jumlah daun 60 dan 90 HST dan panjang akar 90 HST. Tidak adanya pengaruh nyata di peningkatan tinggi dan diameter batang 30 HST, peningkatan tinggi dan diameter batang 60 HST, pertambahan tinggi dan berat kering pada 90 HST. Adanya interaksi nyata komposisi media tanam dengan konsentrasi POC GDM terhadap pertambahan diameter pangkal batang dan peningkatan jumlah daun 30 HST, peningkatan diameter pangkal batang 60 dan 90 HST. Effect of Planting Media Composition and GDM Liquid Organic Fertilizer Concentration on Cocoa Seed Growth (Theobroma cacao L.) Abstract. The experimental means to get planting media composition effect and liquid organic fertilizer GDM concentration and its interaction on cocoa beans growth. This experimental was did in Experimental Garden of  Agriculture Faculty of USK Darussalam Banda Aceh and was conducted from April to June 2020. Each treatment was repeated 3 times and the total are 36 experimental units. The results reported planting media composition is highly significant on seedling height, stem diameter and leaves number 30 DAP, stem diameter 60 DAP, increased number of leaves, root volume. , stem weight. wet stems and dry stem age weight. 90 DAS. Significantly on the seedling height and leaves number to 60 DAP, stem diameter, leaves number and root length 90 DAP. GDM liquid organic fertilizer concentration had highly significant on leaves number 30 DAP, stem diameter, root volume and wet stem weight of 90 DAP. Significantly on leaves number 60 and 90 DAP and the root length of 90 DAP. There was not significant seedling height and stem diameter 30 DAP, increasing seed height and stem diameter 60 DAP, increasing seed height and dry weight of stem 90 DAP. There was significant interaction among the plant media composition and GDM liquid organic fertilizer concentration on stem diameter and leaves number 30 DAP, stem diameter 60 and 90 DAP.
