Abstract

Over the last two decades, the government has paid much more attention through imposing laws to minimize sexual violence against children. This mostly has been perpetrated by people close to them or extended family members. Accordingly, detrimental effects of such an immoral act case lead to physical problem and psychological disorder in children. Many cases are just the tip of the iceberg whereby disclosure has not been made because perpetrators fully know victims who always face threat in their lives. The interview was conducted with three counselors and key person or supervisor in the Regional Child Protection Commission (KPAD) to raise a concern about victims and to investigate the contribution of the KPAD in dealing with children victims of sexual violence. This study is undertaken as a result of the phenomena of sexual violence occurring in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. Field research with qualitative descriptive-analysis method was employed in this study, and technique for data analysis applied a model of Miles et al. (2014). The findings showed that the contribution of KPAD in handling with victims of sexual violence against children includes providing assistance and advocacy, recovering trauma, boosting motivation, offering counseling, and giving assistance for legal justice technically and substantively. With the treatment, the KPAD of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province also provide the opportunity to assist the provincial government in facilitating the needs of the community who are able to contribute considerably to deal with the issues of sexual violence against children.

Abstract

Self-adjustment is a crucial function for young children in order for them to beneficially socialize and to be accepted in each new environment. Self-adjustment during early childhood education can be assisted by guidance and counseling services in the school environment. This study examined the effectiveness of such services towards enhancing children’s self-adjustment. Two kindergartens in the Sub-district of Bungkal, Ponorogo, Indonesia, were the sites visited. The study used quantitative research with a causal-comparative design. Data collection was carried out by using checklists and documentation within simple random sampling. Product-moment correlation was used to test validity and reliability. Then the Alpha Cronbach technique for data employed t-test analysis. Results showed that mean values of self-adjustment in the two schools were different and that the kindergarten school with guidance and counseling services scored higher than the school without such services. It was also observed that guidance and counseling teachers directed children's self-adjustment appropriately in a personal manner. This included providing relevant books for parents, as well as giving intensive guidance to the children whose initial adjustment was low, so that those children could better obtain suitable development.

Abstract

Lansia yang baru masuk ke lingkungan panti jompo rentan dihadapkan pada ketidakmampuan dalam membangun penyesuaian diri yang baik. Dalam menyikapi hal tersebut, maka dukungan sosial d menjadi hal yang penting untuk membantu penyesuaian diri lansia untuk mencapai kebahagiaan hidupnya di panti jompo. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan gambaran umum mengenai dukungan sosial dan bentuk kebahagiaan lansia yang tinggal UPTD Rumoh Sejahtera Geunaseh Sayang Banda Aceh Jenis dari penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 6 orang yakni para lansia yang baru tinggal di panti dalam jangka waktu 6-12. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk dukungan sosial yang diperoleh lansia yakni dukungan emosional, dukungan penghargaan dan dukungan informatif. Adapun bentuk kebahagiaan pada lansia yakni dapat menerima pengalaman masa lalu, menikmati kebahagiaan saat ini dan optimis akan kehidupan yang baik di masa yang akan datang.

Abstract

The number of population of older people has risen over time. The older adults’ latent problems tremendously vary, and one of the biggest challenges for them is having anxiety about death. For this reason, it is vital to accurately identify contributing factors and then Islamic religious instructors seek a favorable treatment for encountering the problem. The lack of understanding of Islamic teachings related self is one of causal factors in this case. This study used a qualitative analysis and descriptive design with the research subject of elderly people at Budi Luhur Social Service Center (BPSTW) Budi Luhur, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta Special Region. The research sample was classified into two categories: females and the were participating in the Islamic religious teaching program. Data were collected through interview, observation, documentation of relevant written texts, and the data were analyzed using a triangulation technique. The study found that lecturing, question and answer, and private-informal conversations were effective techniques for the understanding of Islamic teachings throughout the course in regards with oneself towards dying and death.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in determining the goodness and badness of humans, and Islamic ethics (akhlaq) is the main standard of human quality. In this view, those are an indicator of the success or failure in education. Islamic ethics and moral are essentially a basic value in assessing the nature of a person. The level of education is sometimes not an absolute measure of the tranquility of one's life, but shows how Islamic ethics or moral plays out. For this reason, at an early age children should learn about religion and be provided with a guide for their moral development. The purpose of this study is to find out how the urgency of Islamic ethics education on early childhood and how the hadith illustrates this in children. The research employs the research library method as it depends on investigating written resources such as journals and books. The results of this study showed that Islamic ethics education must be required to begin at an early age because childhood is the most appropriate period to instill good habits. The hadith narrated by Bukhari Muslim on Islamic ethics education in children demonstrates that parents have an important role and contribute significantly in implanting moral values in their children. There are two factors that influence Islamic ethics development in children. First, internal factor includes the innate such as physical, intellectual, and the potential of spirituality. Second, external factors encompass roles of the parents at home, teachers at school, and community leaders in society.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to investigate bibliotherapy services in improving children’s motivation who suffer from chronic illness. The argument in the study asserted that bibliotherapy has a positive effect on children. This is eventually an indication that change of condition improved as shown by the children with chronic illness at Rumah Harapan Indonesia (RHI) Bandung. Participants in this study consist of 10 children with chronic disease who are from out of town to consciously seek medical treatment and stay at RHI. With the use of the descriptive qualitative method, this study inferred that bibliotherapy not only helped heal the children who had difficulty in socializing with peers, feeling tired, bored with circumstances, despair, fear, and experiencing slow growth and development, but also made them have emotional and mental maturity. This research significantly contributes to the further development of some innovative ways to optimize bibliotherapy services for children with chronic diseases.

Abstract

Mah?rah kal?m (speaking skill) is one of four language skills for learning Arabic, the other three skills being istima' (listening), qir?’ah (reading), and kit?bah (writing). When learning to speak Arabic, students deal with both linguistic and non-linguistic challenges. This study used the descriptive analytical method with a qualitative approach to explore barriers in acquiring Arabic mah?rah kal?m. The subjects of this study were college students majoring in Arabic language education at IAIN Langsa, in Aceh. By means of interviews and questionnaire, the study found that impediments to mah?rah kal?m mastery were lack of self-confidence, limitations of introductory vocabulary, poor knowledge of grammar (qaw?’id) and of composition (tar?kib), and discomfort felt by listeners when lacking in conversational understanding. There were non-linguistic factors among the students too: differences in educational background; majoring in Arabic but not as a first choice; a limited language practice environment; and some limitations of teaching methodology. Accordingly, to improve students’ speaking skill, lecturers should seek to develop students’ motivation, memory, and practicing of speaking, by rehearsing examples from texts and from typical situations. To overcome barriers, academic lecturers should create supportive bi’ah lughawiyah, mandatory Arabic-day programs, and the use of media, such as YouTube, to expose students to new mufradah and pattern practices (ushlub).

Abstract

According to Roger, there are three elements for an institution or organization to achieve success, namely good leadership, good management, and good teamwork. In this case, schools need to have good leaders or principals in carrying out their duties so that the needs of the school can run well. A good principal can be seen from his or her leadership model. The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of good and correct leadership models in order to achieve the expected goals. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Therefore, the researcher used triangulation technique. The result is that there are Sufistic values ​​that are implemented by the principal of the MA NU Putra Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. The Sufistic values ​​are patience, humility, sincerity, istiqamah, wara', responsibility, and pleasure. The conclusion is that if there is a good and right leadership model, it will produce something good and right, as happened at MA NU Putra Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. Menurut Roger terdapat tiga elemen agar lembaga atau organisasi mencapai kesuksesan, yakni kepemimpinan yang baik, manajemen yang baik, serta kerjasama tim yang baik. Dalam hal ini, sekolah perlu memiliki pemimpin atau kepala sekolah yang baik dalam menjalankan tugasnya agar kebutuhan dan keperluan dalam sekolah dapat berjalan dengan baik. Kepala sekolah yang baik dapat dilihat dari model kepemimpinannya. Tujuan penelitian ini ialah memberikan pemahaman terkait model kepemimpinan yang baik dan benar agar tercapainya tujuan yang diharapkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasilnya yaitu adanya nilai sufistik yang diimplementasikan oleh kepala sekolah MA NU Putra Buntet Pesantren Cirebon. Nilai sufistiknya yakni sabar, tawadhu, ikhlas, istiqamah, wara’, tanggung jawab, dan rida. Kesimpulannya adalah dengan adanya model kepemimpinan yang baik dan benar maka akan menghasilkan sesuatu yang baik dan benar pula, seperti halnya yang terjadi di MA NU Putra Buntet Pesantren Cirebon.

Abstract

Because of unstable emotions, teenagers have sometimes fallen in a precarious situation, such as violating societal rules and religious norms. Managing emotion therefore is a pivotal aspect to nurture them towards maturity. This study aims to (1) determine the ability of controlling students’ anger; (2) measure effectiveness of the use of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) in reducing students’ anger, and (3) describe the applicability of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) in student learning. By using the qualitative approach, data collection methods are in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study show that the ability of students in controlling their anger is relatively low, and the  applicability of the SEFT in student learning can be done through developing a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) in supporting their spiritual aspects even though it is only a nurturing effect and not an instructional one because using only the SEFT in reducing students’ angry emotions is considered ineffective.

Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of Social Welfare policies on social adaptation in the learning process of students with disabilities in the Sociology Study Program of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. Efforts to fulfill accessibility have been carried out by the Difabel Service Center of UIN Sunan Kalijaga to make the learning process easier. However, these efforts do not deny that there are still obstacles for students with disabilities in participating in the learning process. This study uses a qualitative method. Collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The interviews involved 8 disabled students, 7 non-disabled students, and 4 lecturers. The results showed that there was an adaptation stage in the learning process of students with disabilities in the Sociology Study Program, namely 1) Honeymoon, students with disabilities felt happy when accepted at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, 2) Culture Shock, various obstacles appeared in the learning process, 3) Recovery, program students Sociology Studies with disabilities try to overcome obstacles and apply them continuously, 4) Adjustments, students with disabilities in the Sociology Study Program are getting used to the learning process at UIN Sunan Kalijaga.
