Abstract

Abstract: Information literacy as continuing agenda has given school library to develop its facilites. This article  tries to describe how  school libraries develop IL models. With IL, librarians will study more how to use informations resources increasing fast. For user’s, IL will give skills to study for long life, he will be able to understand the need of information, how to fnd, manage, dan use for daily life.Key word: Information Literacy Models, Information Literacy, School library.

Abstract

Abstract: Plagiarism is a problem that happened long time not only in Indonesia, but also abroad. Although this country had copy right law (UU No. 19 Tahun 2002), but the number of plagiarism is still high. Library as a information resources has important role to decrease the number of plagiarism. Steps can be done by library are socializing the rules of plagiarism, upload the academic work, providing online database for submitting assignment, practicing information literacy, and cooperating with educators.

Abstract

Problem of a quality of school education has always been an interesting theme for discussion. But one thing that is still unnoticed by the education experts is the problem of the role of libraries in schools. The library is important. Everyone acknowledges that, as well as importance of readning,. however people rarely think of how students are encouraged to like readning and make it as a culture. The education quality should be supported by an adequate library. Therefore, there must be a synergy among the various components of education in scholls to start readning habits from managing the library. This short article tries habits from how to empower the library that can  compel students to like reading very much so that it will impact undirectly on the improvement of education quality in school.

Abstract

Lately the term information literacy is often discussedthis awareness needs to be appreciated. Even in Indonesia it canbe said to be late, but considering the importance of the benefits of information for the development of the awareness that literacy should be developed. Information literacy is defined as one’s knowledge of the needs information, the ability to identify, seek, evaluate, organize and effectively create, use and communicate information for solving problems. Those Knowledges are a prerequisite to live in an information society and part of one’s basic right to lifelong learning. In a number of libraries that have implemented information literacy, some progress has been achieved. Indeed it is still limited in higher education, sothat information literacy programs in schools should be encouraged and realized. This literacy can be done through various programs: through user education during new student orientation, incidental activity, or to integrate IL into the school curriculum. To realize this agenda all librarians should continue to learn and develop their competences. Without it, they are impossible to carry out information literacy at the school.
