Abstract

Gas stove explosions are due to mainly the LPG leakage and its chassis over heating temperature as well. Therefore it is needed to have early warning system altogether with its mitigation procees. This design was focused on related security devices based on ATmega 16 microcontroller equipped with gas sensor ranging from 200 up to 10.000 mg/L concentration, heat sensor to limit temperature increase up to 80 ºC, and a timer that works to procees time of 15 minutes maximum, automatic flame lighter, gas flow regulator, and 12 VDC battery backup in case of electricity power failure, in addition to those above specifications the whole system can work automatically or manually. The study showed that the whole designed system works smoothly automatic, or manually with the temperature limit is as high as 80 ºC. It was also apparent that the further of gas leakage detection procees, the slower its response time attained.Ledakan kompor gas LPG merupakan akibat kebocoran gas LPG dan peningkatan temperatur dari rangka kompor gas. Diperlukan sistem peringatan dini dan mitigasi dari bahaya penggunaan kompor gas LPG. Perangkat pengaman kompor gas yang dirancang berbasis mikrokontroler  ATmega 16 melalui kontrol pemantik dan aliran gas. Penggunaan beberapa sensor seperti sensor gas untuk mendeteksi kandungan gas LPG dengan jangkauan konsentrasi 200 – 10.000 mg/L dan sensor panas untuk membatasi panas rangka kompor tidak melebihi suhu 80 °C. Selain itu timer dengan proses kerja maksimal 15 menit akan mematikan kompor secara otomatis saat waktu yang diinginkan tercapai. Baterai backup 12 VDC memberikan daya cadangan ke sistem secara otomatis saat daya PLN terputus. Keseluruhan sistem dapat bekerja secara otomatis atau manual tergantung kebutuhanya. Setelah diuji ternyata benar ketika temperatur rangka kompor mencapai suhu 80 °C, sistem dapat mematikan kompor secara otomatis. Demikian pula ternyata bila jarak pendeteksian kebocoran gas makin jauh maka waktu tanggap sistem melambat.
