Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia associated with metabolic abnormalities of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins caused by decreased insulin secretion or decreased insulin sensitivity or both and causes chronic complications. Bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria) contains antioxidant compounds such as flavonoids, phenols, and tannins which are used to reduce glucose levels in the blood. The research aimed to determine the potential activity of water and ethanol extracts with a concentration of 70%, and 96% of bottle gourd skin in inhibiting the activity of the α-glucosidase enzyme. Bottle gourds were extracted with water and ethanol using the maceration method. The extracts were identified by its chemical compound and tested for the inhibitory activity of the α-glucosidase enzyme.Based on phytochemical results, bottle gourd skin extracts contained flavonoids and saponins. Bottle gourd water extract had the lowest inhibitory.The highest value was ethanol 96% extract. Based on the results of the one-way ANOVA analysis test there was a significant difference in the inhibition of the enzyme α-glucosidase and based on the Duncan Test Pos Hoct Test the four treatments were significantly different. The best IC50 value in ethanol 96% bottle gourd skin extract was 0.487%. Therefore, ethanol 96% bottle gourd skin extract had the potential to inhibit α-glucosidase.

Abstract

PKM peningkatan kapasitas pengelolaan sampah kepada pengelola wisata religi petilasan Sri AjiJayabaya, Desa Menang, Pagu, Kediri merupakan pelatihan untuk menunjang pengelolaan sampah di Kawasanwisata yang merupakan salah satu bentuk kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dosen dalam rangka mengamalkan tridharma perguruan tinggi yaitu pengabdian masyarakat. Peserta dari pelatihan ini adalah pengelola dan masyarakatwisata religi petilasan Sri Aji Jayabaya yang berjumlah 23 orang. Metode yang dilakukan dalam pelaksanaanpengabdian masyarakat ini adalah dengan empat tahap yaitu: tahap pertama, survey dan analisis kebutuhan, tahapkedua: pelaksanaan pelatihan manejemen pengelolaan sampah, tahap ketiga melaksanakan diskusi kelompokterfokus, dan tahap keempat dimana peserta semua di evaluasi dengan instrument yang telah diberikan setelahkegiatan berlangsung. Hasil yang di dapat dalam pelatihan ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1) mitra mampu memahamitentang manajemen pengelolaan sampah, 2) memberikan bantuan pengadaan alat bantu kebersihan, 3) membentuktim kebersihan dan relawan di wisata religi petilasan Sri Aji Jayabaya.Adapun berdasarkan hasil yang di peroleh maka beberapa saran perlu disampaikan yaitu: 1) Hasilpelatihan ini dapat dimanfaatkan semaksimal mungkin dan secara berkesinambungan 2) Diperlukan pelatihan lebihlanjut berkaitan kewirausahaan sebagai tindak lanjut dari pengelolaan sampah.Kata kunci: manajemen pengelolaan sampah, wisata religi, desa menang, pemetaan sosial, peningkatankapasitasAbstractCapacity building program of waste management for the superintendent of religious tourism of Sri AjiJayabaya, Menang Village, Pagu, Kediri is a form of community service training to reduce waste and itsmanagement in the context of practicing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The participants of this trainingwere the managers and community of Sri Aji Jayabaya religious tourism tours, totaling 23 people. The methodused in the implementation of this community service is in four stages, namely: the first stage, a survey and needsanalysis, the second stage: the implementation of waste management training, the third stage carrying out focusgroup discussions, and the fourth stage where all participants are evaluated with instruments that have been givenduring the training program. The results achieved in this training are as follows: 1) Partners are able to understandabout waste management, 2) Provide assistance in procurement of cleaning aids, 3) Composing a new cleaningcrew and teams of volunteers for Sri Aji Jayabaya religious tourism.As for the results obtained, several suggestions need to be submitted, namely: 1) The results of thistraining can be utilized to the fullest and on an ongoing basis 2) Further training is needed related toentrepreneurship as a follow-up to waste management.Keywords: waste management, religious tourism, Menang villages, social mapping, capacity building
