Abstract

Kata-kata Kunci: depolutansi, efisiensi, manajemen bahan, 3RH AbstractThis study aims to improve the efficiency of the use of chemicals and reduce the potential pollutants (depollutants) resulting from activities in the Chemistry Laboratory of Undiksha towards effective, efficient, and insightful green chemistry. The research method is a method of action research (Action Research) is a process through which the investigator to handle the problem (at the Laboratory of Chemistry). The method that will be done is the implementation 3RH (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Handle) in materials management and waste handling FMIPA Undiksha Basic Chemistry Laboratory. The data collected is related to the inventory of chemicals, the identification number of the use of chemicals in existing procedures, as well as the quantity of laboratory waste generation during the period of 1 (one) semester, and data is the result of applying the method 3RH. By using secondary data and primary data do comparative descriptive analysis 3RH implementation in the management of chemicals and waste management laboratory. The result of this research is the application of methods 3RH ((Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Handle) can reduce the use of chemicals for purposes of laboratory experiments Chemistry up to 60-95% and reducing the generation of pollutants from the chemical laboratory activity. Keywords: depolutansi, efficiency, materials management, 3RH

Abstract

Abstract

Community service activities (P2M) have been implemented in the form of training in strengthening chemical literacy for laboratory assistants and managers of junior high science laboratories in Buleleng Regency. This activity aims to provide strengthening and enhancement of the ability of chemical literacy of Labors and Managers of Science Laboratory. The method used is the education-training and mentoring method. Implementation form is in service and on service in the form of lectures, workshops practices. Realization of activities includes the identification of potentially hazardous materials, substance of science practicum, characterizing the risk of hazardous chemicals, identifying ways to handle and mitigating chemical hazards, maintaining safety and health work in the laboratory and how to handle accidents due to chemicals. The outputs of this activity are posters/work instructions for hazardous chemicals in the science laboratory, chemistry literacy modules, increased competence in chemical literacy, and the scientific article in a national journal.

Abstract

Problems often occur in sample testing using the FTIR instrument, one of which is that the spectrum quality of the measurement results is not optimal. This has implications for the accuracy of the test results. This condition indicates that the performance of the tool is not optimal. The non-optimal quality of this spectrum is thought to be influenced by the composition factor and the thickness of the sample-KBr which is measured not in accordance with the legibility limits of the instrument. To overcome this problem, it is important to conduct a study to find out the optimum composition and thickness of the KBr-sample which can be measured properly by the instrument. The purpose of this study was to optimize the performance of the FTIR device through a study of the optimum composition and thickness of the KBr-sample so that a good spectrum was produced in the sample measurement using FT-IR type IRAffinity-1 Shimadzu. This research is an experimental research with infrared spectrophotometry method, using the One Shot Case Study design. The treatment is a measurement of the variation in the composition of the sample-KBr and the thickness of the sample. The spectrum resulting from the reading of the FT-IR spectrophotometer is interpreted to include wave number and transmittance percent. The results of the readings of each variation are compared with the standard spectrum to see the optimization of the measurement results so that the best spectrum is obtained. The results showed that the optimum ratio of the sample-KBr composition was 4% and the optimum thickness was 1/2 pan.
