Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa dalam pemecahan masalah pola bilangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Tangerang. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil tes dikelompokan menjadi tiga kelompok yaitu tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Setiap kelompok diambil masing-masing 1 siswa untuk dijadikan responden. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kelompok dengan kategori kemampuan tinggi berada pada karakteristik dan tingkat penalaran aljabar yang lebih tinggi dari tingkat 1 namun belum mencapai ke tingkat 2, kategori kemampuan sedang berada pada karakteristik dan tingkat penalaran aljabar tingkat 1 dan dengan kategori kemampuan tinggi berada pada karakteristik dan tingkat penalaran aljabar tingkat 0

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP dengan pendekatan open-ended dalam pembelajaran matematika, pendekatan open-ended pada penelitian ini diterapkan ke dalam bentuk soal-soal penalaran yang bersifat open-ended. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP yang berjumlah 43 siswa, dengan mengambil sampel tiga siswa dari kelas IX.A yaitu satu siswa dengan kemampuan penalaran tinggi, satu siswa dengan kemampuan penalaran sedang, dan satu siswa dengan kemampuan penalaran rendah. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan instrumen soal tes kemampuan penalaran matematis berbentuk essay yang terdiri dari 4 soal yang valid dan reliabel, dan dengan menggunakan wawancara untuk memperoleh data berupa respon siswa secara langsung dengan memberikan serangkaian pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh peneliti kepada subjek. Hasil tes kemampuan penalaran siswa berdasarkan indikator yang diteliti menunjukkan bahwa siswa dapat mengajukan dugaan (conjectures) mencapai 60,46%, siswa dapat melakukan manipulasi matematika mencapai 54,07%, dan siswa dapat memberikan kesimpulan, menyusun bukti, memberikan alasan atau bukti terhadap beberapa solusi mencapai 50,58%, serta siswa dapat memeriksa kesahihan dari pernyataan mencapai 38,95%, siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran tinggi mampu menguasai keempat indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran sedang hanya mampu menguasai tiga indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis. Untuk siswa yang memiliki kemampuan penalaran rendah tidak mampu menguasai keempat indikator kemampuan penalaran matematis.Abstract: This study aims to describe and analyze the mathematical reasoning abilities of junior high school students with an open-ended approach in mathematics learning, the open-ended approach in this study is applied in the form of open-ended reasoning questions. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects of the population in this study were students of class IX SMP, amounting to 43 students, taking a sample of three students from class IX.A namely one student with high reasoning ability, one student with moderate reasoning ability, and one student with low reasoning abilities. Data collection techniques using a question test instrument in essay mathematical reasoning ability consisting of 4 valid and reliable questions, and by using interviews to obtain data in the form of student responses directly by providing a series of questions posed by researchers to the subject. The results of tests of students' reasoning abilities based on the indicators studied showed that students could submit conjectures reaching 60.46%, students could do mathematical manipulations reaching 54.07%, and students could provide conclusions, compile evidence, provide reasons or evidence against some the solution reaches 50.58%, and students can examine the validity of the statement reaching 38.95%, students who have high reasoning ability are able to master the four indicators of mathematical reasoning ability. Students who have moderate reasoning ability are only able to master three indicators of mathematical reasoning ability. For students who have low reasoning abilities are not able to master the four indicators of mathematical reasoning ability

Abstract

Bebras task is a problem solving problem that integrates computational thinking in it, which the stages in computational thinking consist of: decomposition, abstraction, algorithm, and pattern recognition. This study aims to describe the profile of student’s computational thinking based on the level of self-regulated learning in completing bebras task. This study is a qualitative-descriptive study with three research subjects based on the level of students’ self-regulated learning, namely high self-regulated learning, medium self-regulated learning, and low self-regulated learning. The results of this study indicate that students with different levels of self-regulated learning have different computational thinking ability in completing bebras task. Student with high level of self-regulated learning can reach the stages of decomposition, abstraction, algorithm, and pattern recognition. Student with medium level of self-regulated learning can reach the stages of decomposition, absraction, and algorithm. Student with low level of self-regulated learning can reach the stage of decomposition only. Student with low level of self-regulated learning do not yet reflect independence in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability to solve mathematical problems based on the characteristics of students' thinking style: Concrete Sequential (CS), Abstract Sequential (AS), Concrete Random (CR), and Abstract Random (AR). This research was carried out at one of the junior high schools in Tangerang, Indonesia. The subjects were 20 Year 7 students, with different thinking style. This research employed a qualitative approach. The instruments used are problem-solving tests and non-problem-solving tests on the characteristics of students' thinking style and a test of mathematical problem-solving ability accompanied by interview results. The data were analyzed descriptively to describe the test results of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. The results showed that CS-type students could understand the problem in accordance with the indicators. Type AS students can understand but do not write the steps in detail. AR students are as well-understood but less thorough about their calculations. Meanwhile, CR students can understand only a few parts of problem-solving.

Abstract

The development of science and technology affects the emergence of interactive learning media. Interactive learning media is expected to be able to foster students’ learning motivation and spatial abilities. This study aimed to develop learning media based on geogebra software on cubes to deveop students’ spatial ability. This study applies the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development implementation, evaluation) as a research and development model for creating interactive learning media using geogebra on cube theory. Tha sample in this study amounted to 20 students where these students had not received theory about cubes. The research data was obtained through filling out a questionnaire evaluation test for students’ responses to learning. The quality of geogebra based learning media is related to three criteria, namely validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Based on the results of the research and analysis carried out, the interactive learning media that has been developed meets good validity criteria, can be used practically in learning and is able to grow students’ spatial ability in cube theory
