Abstract

In learning of Social Sciences (IPS) character education can be integrated in the process of learning activities associated with the context of everyday life. Understanding of the material relics of history patterned kingdom of Hindu and Buddha too difficult if you rely on the transfer of knowledge from teacher to student. Impressed learning Social Science (IPS) at junior level that causes less optimal learning process becomes drab as well boring. In addition, cultivation of character values do not appear in the learning process. Thus the need to develop character values in learning activities by using certain learning media. Given Malang has a legacy of temples patterned Hindu-Buddhist saves philosophies sublime related to the values of the characters inscribed on the panels, then compiled instructional media "Pecango" that can help the learning process and can eventually develop character values in activity studying Social Science (IPS) students.Keywords: Character values, Learning activities, Instructional media "Pecango" http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um022v1i12016p022

Abstract

Understanding the Subthemes of Nature of Indonesia, especially on sub-theme Flora and Fauna will be more easily understood by learners based on the learning experience gained from the transfer of knowledge submitted by teachers. For that, teachers need to use a medium as an intermediary in learning. The appropriate learning medium is to use "Sipete". It is also expected that the selected learning media can improve the activity and learning outcomes of learners. Based on the results of research proves that the use of learning media "Sipete" can improve the activity and learning outcomes of learners. Evident from each cycle showed a significant improvement. In the first cycle of learning activities, only 15 students (46.88%) showed high learning activity with the percentage of success reached 57 in enough category, increased to 23 people (71,88%) in Cycle II with the success of the action reached 73 in good category. In the third cycle increased to 27 people (84.38%) which showed high learning activity with the percentage of success reached 82 in very good category.DOI: 10.17977/um022v3i12018p013

Abstract

Hydrosphere material related to the hydrological cycle, forms the body of water, and marine zones according to depth as a material object IPS too elusive if only rely on the transfer of knowledge from the teacher to the learner; better if the students can see what is observed, which is then written and finally presented based learning experiences. Thus we need a media as an intermediary to help the learning process. To that end, the appropriate learning media is to use the “Jendela Hidrosfer”.
