Abstract

Spirit fikih sufistik sesungguhnya telah banyak diterbitkan dan ditularkan sejak narasi fikih menjadi studi tersendiri di dalam ilmu-ilmu keislaman. Kehidupan sosial umat Islam berhadapan dengan persoalan yang kompleks dan tidak sedikit kaku dengan paradigma fikih an sich, mengakibatkan nalar hukum berkuasa untuk menghakimi dan mengadili persoalan manusia. Dialog fikih dan tasawuf hadir untuk mengurangi, meredam, dan menangguhkan perlahan kelompok atau komunitas yang kokoh dengan pandangan fikih oriented. Artikel ini tergolong penelitian kepustakaan, memanfaatkan berbagai sumber pustaka, buku, jurnal, dan dokumen yang relevan untuk menemukan, merumuskan dan memeroleh hasil komprehensif. Dalam penelitian ini, mainstreaming dialog fikih dan tasawuf adalah upaya pencarian titik temu sehingga dapat digalakkan sebagai role model fikih perdamaian dengan melakukan dua kerangka kerja, yaitu; menjadikan Maqashid Syari’ah sebagai jembatan paradigmatik dan memperluas acuan untuk mendinamisasi perspektif. Di tengah kehidupan sosial umat Islam terus berhadapan dengan persoalan krusial, kemanusiaan, dialog beragama, dan konflik-konflik sosial. Kesimpulan penelitian ini, pertemuan produktif antara fikih dan tasawuf dapat menjadi pusat pertemuan dalam merevitalisasi fikih perdamaian dengan bantuan operasional, maqashid syari’ah dan upaya dinamisasi perspektif umat Islam.

Abstract

The issue of quality is always a significant one and it will continue to be one of the predominant points of debate in education. Through a qualitative method, this study aimed to explore the experiences and the meaning that senior high school students faced in the national standardized exam for English subject. The data were collected by demographic background questionnaire and in-depth interviews with fifteen participants. The demographic data were analyzed descriptively, while the interviews were analyzed by within-case and cross-case analyses. The results of the data analysis revealed several themes such as cheating as bad consequences in the national standardized exam, it is like a yearly educational festival and formality, sharpening students memories, spending much money and time for English extra classes, dishonesty: spreading the key answer illegally, teachers more focus on the national exam, it is like a symbol of government power. Recommendations for taking some actions regarding the effect of the national standardized exam are offered.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to explore what efforts were being made by the Madrasah Tsanawiyah Bungo Regency in order to foster and embed character education in their students, in particular; how to plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate character education for students in One State Madrasah Tsanawiyah Bungo Regency. This research was a qualitative research with a case study approach. In collecting the data, the researcher used a demographic background and an in-depth interview with 9 participants. The participants in this research were one principal, two vice principals, three teachers, and three students. Based on the findings of the research, it concluded the design of this education plan had been carried out periodically from the beginning of the year by perfecting the plan of the previous year and continued by making a plan for the following year which was carried out by a deliberation meeting with the teacher assembly and entered into the education calendar. The finding related to the implementation of character education was carried out by integrating character education into daily activities at the madrasah and building communication between schools with parents of students. Furthermore, the finding of supervision showed that each party in the school such as the principal, vice-principals and teachers played an active role in supervising both directly and indirectly. The teacher was the party that had an active role because the teacher in addition to overseeing student actions, teacher also taught about how to inculcate character education in the classroom so that it can improve student behaviors by giving a warning.  In terms of evaluation, it showed that the learning process of character education had been going quite well and in accordance with what was expected even though there were still shortcomings such as there were teachers who still did not understand the materials well, so the learning process was still less interesting and satisfying, especially in religious learning.

Abstract

Abstract: the purpose of this study was to explore the roles of Islamic State University Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi in transforming society, especially in Jambi Province. The research design was qualitative in casestudy. I analysed the Rector Speech, news, documentation, observation and interviews. I studied four major themes related to Islamic State University Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi those are moderate spirit, Islamic entrepreneurship, locomotive for social change and Transintegration paradigm. The research findings those are moderate spirit is an inclusive vision in building a peacefull society, entrepreneurship based on Islamic teachings vision is an effort to make the academic activities can be usefull economically and encourage the welfare community, locomotive for social change vision is a concept to be a pioneer in building knowledge for humanity. Abstract

This paper seeks to analye the ideological battle between Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) through Gerakan Mahasiswa Pembebasan (Gema Pembebasan; the Liberation Student Movement) and intra-campus (DEMA; Student Executive Council) and extra-campus student associations at State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN). The main article’s objectives are what issues often propagated by HTI activists are; and what the reactions and resistances of opposite student activists towards HTI’s ideology are. The research method used is qualitative, with a multi-case design. Data collection was carried out directly by observing and in-depth interviewing informants from various elements of the student movement; HTI activists, student presidents of DEMA and other administrators, as well as student activists either through direct or phone interviews. The results of the study showed that Gema Pembebasan activists as the underbow of HTI had militancy and high discipline to promote ideology and struggled to uphold the caliphate. HTI activists campaigned the Khilafah Islamiyah ideology and concept through various media and intellectual activities. In propaganda scheme, HTI activists always make tag line campaigns such as “Democracy is Haram”, “Khilafah Islamiyah is the solution”, and “Stop the Secular System”. This article also concluded that the provocative actions of Gema Pembebasan activists have generated a number of resistance from the opposite activists. The intra-and extra-campus organizations activists attempt to fight HTI's ideological propaganda through various strategies, such as intellectualism and intimidation. However, the resistance power was no longer found since HTI was dissolved by the Government. Tulisan ini bertujuan mendiskusikan pertarungan ideologi antara aktivis Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) melalui Gerakan Mahasiswa Pembebasan (Gema pembebasan) dengan organisasi mahasiswa intra kampus (DEMA; Dewan Eksekutif Mahasiswa) dan ekstra kampus di Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri (PTKIN). Pertanyaan utama artikel ini adalah isu apa saja yang sering dipropagandakan aktivis HTI; dan apa saja reaksi serta resistensi aktivis mahasiswa yang kontra dengan ideologi HTI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan rancangan multikasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara langsung dengan mengamati dan mewawancarai secara mendalam informan dari berbagai elemen gerakan mahasiswa; aktivis HTI, presiden mahasiswa DEMA dan pengurusnya, dan aktivis mahasiswa baik secara langsung maupun via handphone. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa aktivis Gema Pembebasan sebagai sayap organisasi (underbow) HTI memiliki militansi dan disiplin tinggi untuk mempromosikan ideologi dan perjuangan menegakkan khilafah. Aktivis HTI mengkampanyekan ideologi dan konsep Khilafah Islamiyah melalui berbagai media cetak maupun kegiatan intelektual. Dalam aktivitas propaganda, aktivis HTI selalu membuat tag line kampanye seperti “Demokrasi itu Haram”, “Khilafah Islamiyah Solusi”, dan “Hentikan Sistem Sekuler”. Artikel ini juga menyimpulkan bahwa tindakan provokatif aktivis Gema Pembebasan menuai banyak reaksi resisten dan perlawanan dari aktivis penentang HTI. Aktivis organisasi intra dan ekstra kampus mencoba melawan dakwah ideologi HTI melalui berbagai cara seperti cara intelektualisme bahkan intimidasi. Namun, daya resistensi tidak ditemukan lagi setelah HTI dibubarkan oleh Pemerintah.

Abstract

Abstract: the issue of English teaching is always an important one and it will continue to be one of the dominant points in education problems. Through qualitative method, this study aimed to explore the investigating about students’ mastery in descriptive writing specifically in using passive sentences. The data were collected by test, observation, and in-dept interview with English lecturer and English program in Islamic state university Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. The results of the data analysis revealed that many students are not mastery in descriptive writing in using passive sentences. The findings show that passive sentences are not discussed specifically in the classrooms. Recommendation for English subject to make a lesson plan about passive sentences and practice them in a scientific writing.Keywords: Passive sentences, Descriptive writing, English teaching

Abstract

Abstract

The argument of this article is that the revisionist Islamic ideas and concepts popularized by Mun'im Sirry in Indonesia is an academic work that invites Islamic scholars to re-examine Islamic sources in order to find historical truth. For Mun'im Sirry Islam believed by Muslims has not been able to distinguish between historical facts and theological beliefs. The findings of this study are that Mun'im Sirry supports several theses of previous revisionist scholars such as John Wansbourgh and Ignaz Goldziher regarding the many historical distortions, teachings and rituals of Muslims which are actually different from early Islamic practice. However, Mun'im Sirry has his own unique revisionist concept of Islam. One of the factors causing this bias is because Muslims accept Islamic sources as taken for granted, that Islam is a religion that has been perfected. An important point for disseminating revisionist Islamic ideas is that new facts and interpretations are very important to support the construction of a tolerant, dialogical attitude in order to create a religious community that can live side by side and work together.
