Abstract

Indonesia has made tourism as the leading sector in economy. This has prompted many regions to compete to develop their tourism potential, including Kota Serang - Banten by launching Kampung Wisata Pancer. Kampung Pancer is closely related to the history of the Karangantu Harbour area, which was an international port during the Banten Kingdom era. Not many studies have discussed about the development of sustainable tourism in the Banten region. This article aims to show the progress of tourism in Banten today. Its development has allowed tourism to stand on its own feet. This study is based on an overview of secondary sources and observations and personal interviews with several informants and tourism experts. The results of this study showed that the tourism development efforts in Kampung Wisata Pancer are not in accordance with the concept of sustainable tourism development. Abstract

The MICE business continuously grow. Therefore, the MICE organizer provides an assessment of the city’s destination attributes. The purpose of this study is to disclose the forming factors of the destination. This study uses multiple regression analysis methods with a sample of 150 respondents. Two destination attributes as affordability and activities do not significantly influence the image formation of Bandung as a MICE destination. The simultaneous effect is 88.4%, while the other un-observed factors influence 11.6%. Thus, the availability of complete and high-quality destination attributes in Bandung will improve the city’s image as a MICE destination. Furthermore, it enables Bandung to compete with the other MICE destinations in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine competence, quality of work-life and employee performance in one of the hotels in the city of Bandung and to analyze the influence of competence on employee performance and the influence of the quality of work-life on employee performance and the influence of competence and quality of work-life together on employee performance. The method used in this research is a survey method with an associative explanation level. Respondents in this study were 95 employees. The data collection techniques used literature study, documentation study, and field study using interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is a quantitative analysis and statistical analysis. The quantitative analysis includes the respondent's score, while the statistical analysis uses path analysis. The finding shows there is a positive relationship between competence and performance of 0.418, there is a positive relationship between the quality of work-life and performance of 0.596. there is a positive relationship between competence and quality of work-life of 0.371 and epsilon (factors others not researched) of 0.286.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of achievement motivation and competence toward employee satisfaction. The research method used survey method by using purposive sampling of the research object with a total population sample of 50 employees. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (PLS). Results showed that achievement motivation significant effect on the competence and employee satisfaction. Competence has significant effect on employee satisfaction. This indicates that the lack of attention to achievement motivation and competence will increase employee satisfaction. Keywords: achievement motivation; competence; employee satisfaction.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the competency condition, the quality of work life and staff performance. This also analyzes the influence of competency towards staff performance, the influence of work life quality towards staff performance and the influence of competency and work life quality towards staff performance A survey methods with associative explanatory level is used in this research. The respondents are 95 staffs. The data collection techniques used in this research are literature study, documentation study and field study by using interview and questionnaire. The data collected are analyzed by using quantitative and statistics analyses. The quantitative analysis covers the respondent score and the statistics analysis covers the path analysis. The finding shows that in general the competency, the quality of work life and the performance. The direct influence of competency towards staff performance is 17.454 % and the indirect influence is 9.23 %. Therefore, in total the influence of competency towards staff performance is 26.7 %. The direct influence of the quality of work life towards staff performance is 35.57 % and the indirect influence is 9.23 %. Therefore, the total influence of the quality of work life towards the staff performance is 44.8 %. The influence of competency and the quality of work life towards staff performance is 71.4 %.
