Abstract

Problems that have always been discussed up to now are gender and issues regarding the inequality of relations between women and men. Apart from the Qur'an, Hadith is also accused of being a contributor to discriminating against women. The understanding of the ulama also seems taken for granted in justifying a form of discrimination, so that the relationship between men and women becomes unstable with one another. In this study, the aim of this research is to understand religious texts and focus on the hadiths which can provide a balanced interpretation offer that does not defend either party. This study uses the mubadalah approach as an analysis knife. The conclusion of this research is that the hadith regarding “women's slander” is not something that can legalize discrimination by using stereotypes against one of them. But further than that the text suggests both men and women to be aware of each other from all possible slander ( charm) that both of them could evoke.

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between husband and wife in the family which focuses on the hadith narrated by Ibn Majah through the Musawir al-Himyari route. This hadith is one of the many religious texts that are used as legitimacy for the marginalization of women, especially in the realm of the family. This research borrows the Mubadalah approach offered by Faqihuddin Abdul Kodir as a tool of analysis that emphasizes cooperation and / or alienation between two parties. In simple terms this theory works in three ways, namely: first, linking partial texts (Juz'iyat) with universal principal texts. Second, capturing the main idea or moral ideal of the text being discussed. Third, pass the meaning obtained through the two previous ways to the gender that is not mentioned in the text. From the discussion presented in this paper, the author comes to the conclusion that the hadith about the suggestion of wives to seek and get the approval of their husbands cannot be understood as a party only as emphasized by classical scholars. Partial texts like this when viewed from the point of view of mubadalah, are very contradictory to the teachings of Islamic principles, especially in the family which emphasizes cooperation between husband and wife for the creation of a sakinah family, mawaddah warahmah. therefore it is not only the wife who is encouraged to seek and get the approval of the husband, but also on the other hand, the husband in this case also has the same obligations as that which is borne by the wife.

Abstract

Harald Motzki is one of the orientalists who study the hadith objectively. One of Motzki's theories in studying hadith is isnad cum matn. This theory is a method in searching the history of hadith and combining aspects of isnad and matan as well as the Common Link theory which was popularized by Juynbol. In this article the author uses misogynistic traditions about the creation of women, bearing in mind that these traditions are often used as a reason to legitimize discrimination against women. The author found that misogynistic traditions about the creation of women were delivered by the Prophet himself, and at the same time, the Prophet also became the common link of these hadiths. In Mysoginy perspectives raditions or more specifically traditions that talk about the creation of women from ribs are also authentic from the Prophet and are delivered in two versions, namely the long version and the short version, which are then recorded in several hadith books.
