Abstract

ABSTRAK: Ada narasi di dalam kata. Narasi menyampaikan pandangan hidup. Pandangan hidup melukiskan teologi masyarakat melalui keseharian. ABSTRACT: There is a narrative in the word. The narrative tells the way of life. The way of life draws the theology of society in daily life. One of the people daily life is a meal. A meal is not only the need of life but also the social rite. One element of the meal is bread. The Bible tells about two kinds of bread, namely: the bread and the unleavened bread. Those two kinds of bread motivated me to find out how the Bible distinguishes both the meaning and practice of those bread. The use of the bread and the unleavened bread narrate the society daily life and ritual both ancient Israel and the Christianity of the first century around the Mediterranean. The Bible gives that narrative to us. I search both word and practice of the bread and the unleavened bread with the meal of the Jews, as being told by the Old Testament and the New Testament especially the early Christianity. The point of this article is the deserve element of the Eucharist of the Church today: the bread or the unleavened bread. Above all, even though the tradition of the Church told one of those elements, we should open our mind to contextualization.

Abstract

Abstract The explanation of the church building as a liturgical space in this article will focus on two things. First, the area that separates the sacred from the secular world. The separated place points towards the meaning of the church that reveals God's presence in the world. The church is not just alive but also gives meaning to the whole life of the entire creation. Second, the celebration room that narrates God's works in history. As a liturgical area, the church building uses several metaphors to tell about God's works, for example, the gate of heaven, the pregnant mother, and the sailing ship. This article argues that the interior of the liturgical space narrates the church's view on God and God's creation. Further, this article emphasizes for the importance of the liturgical space as a reflection of the church theology by using the ritual, theological, and anthropological views of the church's interior space. Abstract

The unfamiliar words in the congregational songs evoke my attention to investigate the roots and the hidden meaning of the songs. Without problems, congregations often keep singing the songs, although some words have no clear meaning. How does the meaning of the Bible verses from which the songs originate change to give rise to different impressions and messages? How can one or two words appropriately narrate the majesty of God? How does a one word conversation change its nuance when sung? These things led me to explore some words and investigate them from the original song and translated vocabulary perspective to find a deeper theological meaning. Some impressive words could be more meaningful or more precise. I chose those words and investigated them to get a more profound impression and message. I found that those words are chosen by the composer or translator convey a personal faith experience that impacts the community. In this article I offer the people to take attention on words of songs. They give a deep nuance and meaning for spiritual life.
