Abstract

Mesin pengering hybrid tipe konveyor otomatis merupakan invansi baru dalam pengembangan mesin pengering tipe konveyor di indonesia, saat ini mesin pengering dengan tipe yang sama masih mengandalkan energi fosil dalam pengoperasiannya.. Mesin pengering ini diharapkan menjadi solusi untuk petani, nelayan serta industri  pendukung dibidang pertanian dan kelautan untuk mengeringkan hasil pertanian dan kelautain yang dapat beroperasi secara kontinu dan mempunyai kapasitas produksi yang banyak.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  menguji kinerja dari mesin pengering hybrid tipe konveyor otomatis, berupa data suhu dan data pengeringan menggunakan bahan sohun. Hasil pengujian suhu ruang dalam konveyor otomatis yang diakibatkan oleh pemanasan matahari didapatkan suhu mksimal 52,1 oC, dengan intensitas matahari 1115 W/m2 . Laju pengeringan sohun dengan memanfaatkan panas matahari sebesar 10 g/menit terjadi pada suhu rata-rata dalam ruang pengering 50,03 oC dengan lama waktu pengeringan 50 menit sedangkan laju pengeringan sohun dengan menggunakan bahan bakar gas di dapat 35,22 g/menit terjadi pada suhu rata-rata 83,76 oC dengan lama waktu pengeringan 28,39 menit, dengan konsumsi gas 1,3 kg.

Abstract

This study aims to design and test the citronella leaf distillation tool by conducting experiments and testing the tools and test results. The parameters observed were heat transfer in the citronella leaf distillery produced by the tool, the results of the conduction heat transfer research in the distillation tank were 1,032.61 J/s (Joules per second) and heat transfer by natural convection in the distillation tank was 3,761.16 J/s (Joules per second) with an initial water temperature of 28°C to a specified temperature of 98°C. The distillation time of more than 5 hours will reduce the quality of the yield which is not up to standard. The effect of the part of lemongrass which produces a high yield percentage is on the leaves, while the high quality of citronella oil is on the leaves. % citronella citronella on fresh leaves was 67.36%, withered leaves were 44.92%.

Abstract

In processing potatoes into sticks on a large scale, an equipment is needed that can facilitate the manufacturing process. Therefore, it is necessary to research the design of the potato peeler and cutter and test the performance of the tool. This study aims to determine the design and selection of materials, to determine the production process of potato peeler and cutter and to determine the effect of rotation on time and level of cleanliness of potatoes. This machine consists of several components, namely the frame, peeler tube, cutting tube, transmission unit and electric motor. The working mechanism of this tool is that the peeler disc which is moved by an electric motor rotates to push the potatoes, so that the rotation causes friction between the potatoes and the peeler tube which has a rough surface, this friction causes the potato skin to peel off and is then forwarded to the potato cutter tube with a propeller, which is driven by an electric motor so that the rotation pushes the potatoes into the knife so that the potatoes that pass through the peeler tube are cut into sticks. From the results of testing the tool obtained data on potatoes grade A with an average time of 2 minutes and a motor rotation of 170 rpm, capable of peeling 96.8% of potatoes with a weight loss of 3.2% of potatoes. For potatoes grade B with an average time of 2 minutes and a motor rotation of 170 rpm was capable of peeling 97% of potatoes with a weight loss of 3%, and the results of potato cuts with a cross sectional size of 6.9 × 6.9 mm.Keywords:   french fries, peeler, cutter, potato stick

Abstract

Currently, the use of plastic products is increasing in various fields, due to their flexibility and low production costs. The injection molding process is a technique that is often used in the formation of plastic products. The focus of the problem of this study is the effect of heating temperature and hydraulic pressure on the results of box and gear molds using the injection molding process. The test method uses variations in temperature and hydraulic pressure to produce the maximum mold shape in the box and gear. From the results of the injection molding test for full yield gear products with a melt temperature of 368ºC, a mold temperature of 40ºC, and an injection pressure of 490 Psi, there was a failure in the test results due to the release of liquid which did not come out directly to fill the mold, because the pressure from the hydraulic jack must gradually.
