Abstract

This study aims to determine how the ability of Jambi Friends of the Community of Friends in accessing, evaluating and using information. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach and data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used: data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and data triangulation. Based on the results of the analysis and research findings, the ability of the Jambi Sahabat Community Community Managers to access information based on the IFLA standard is said to be Expert, because it is seen from the manager’s ability to define information needs and to trace information through various sources, such as people who are experts in their fields, from print media: books and newspapers, electronic media: television and mobile phones. The ability of the Friends of the Jambi Friends of the Community in evaluating information based on the IFLA standard is said to be Expert, because it is seen from the ability of the manager to assess information and manage information obtained through clear sources of information, such as books, and internet media, as well as sources from internal community discussions. The ability of the Jambi Friends of the Sahabat Community Community to use information based on the IFLA standard can be said to be Expert, seen from the manager’s ability to use information and communicate information directly in the form of discussion, and indirectly as well as convey information with a simpler and easier to understand delivery

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji secara filosofis menganai kesiapan perpustakaan perguruan tinggi dalam menghadapi industri 4.0. Pembahasan diawali dengan pemaparan singkat mengenai epistimologi, ontologi dan aksiologi. Pembahasan dilanjutkan dengan mengubungkan ilmu filsafat dan ilmu filsafat manajemen sehingga dari kedua disiplin ilmu tersebut ditemukan tiga elemen dasar ilmu manajemen adalah kepemimpinan, manajemen dan adminsitrasi.Terdapat beberapa pandangan ndalan kajian filsafat manajemen terhadap revolusi industri 4.0. Pandangan tersebut yakni penggunaan tekonlogi dapat memberikan efektifitas kerja, sehingga setiap proses pekerjaan dapat diselesaikan dengan baik (smart process). Ilmu filsafat manajemen dalam kaitannya dengan perkembangan revolusi industri 4.0 setidaknya harus menyikapi beberapa hal yakni, inovasi,penurunan biaya produksi marjinal dan munculnya platform yang dapat menyatukan dan mengkonsentrasikan beberapa bidang keilmuan.Ketiga, revolusi secara global ini akan berpengaruh besar dan terbentuk di hampir semua negara di dunia, di mana cakupan transformasi ini terjadi pada setiap bidang industri, dan bahkan akan mempunyai dampak menyeluruh di banyak tempat.

Abstract

Introduction. This research is entitled Information Seeker Behavior of Blind Users in Braille Corner Services at the Jambi City Archives and Libraries Service, the purpose of this study is to determine the behavior of the blind in seeking information at the Jambi City Archives and Library Service. Information seeking behavior arises because of the need for information, so the higher the need for information, the higher the number of activities seeking information. Information behavior by users has its own pattern. Because each user will find the information they need differently, therefore the need for information is very important. From this difference, the writer is interested in studying "The Behavior of Information Seekers for the Braille Corner Service for Blind Users at the Jambi City Archives and Library Service". Data Collection Method. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method in the form of case study research. Informants in researching 3 people, informants were selected based on purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, in-depth interviews and documentation, the subjects in this study were blind users who visited the Braille Corner service. Data Analysis. Data analysis techniques in this study used data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Result and Discusions. The results obtained from the search for information on Braille Corner services for blind users at the Jambi City Archives and Library Service are strongly influenced by Braille Corner service officers. The type of information that is often accessed by blind users at the Jambi City Archives and Library Service is the printed collection of Braille. Information obtained by blind users is used for their respective interests and is used for different purposes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Intoduction. This study aims to determine the embodiment of literacy culture in the Community Library activities which were pioneered by the Omah Sinau Library in Tanjung Sari Village, Jambi Timur District. The importance of improving the literacy culture of the community is realized by the Omah Sinau library to answer the challenges of the times in the era of technological and information advancement. The existence of the Omah Sinau Library makes a positive contribution in providing sources of information and supporting skills activities for people of all ages and work backgrounds. Research methods. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Qualitative research methods are used for in-depth understanding of human and social problems, not describing the surface of a reality Data analysis. Data analysis using reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing Results and Discussion. This research shows that the activities carried out by the Omah Sinau Library in Realizing a Literacy Culture for the Community are by providing literacy sources/reading materials; Making the library as a Media for Recreation/Entertainment; Making Libraries a Skills Education; Making the Library a Social Center for the Community. Conclusions and suggestions. The library's contribution to improving literacy culture has a very positive impact on the surrounding community. The role of libraries that make libraries as social centers of society is a new finding in this research that has not existed in the same type of research before. It is hoped that the existence of community libraries, especially in Jambi City, can increase in number and the Omah Sinau library can be used as a reference library whose activities support the improvement of literacy culture.

Abstract

Introduction. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of user education in the Technical Implementation Unit of the Library of the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, the obstacles faced by user education in supporting information services at the Technical Implementation Unit of the Library of the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi and the efforts made to overcome these obstacles. faced by user education in supporting information services at the Library Technical Implementation Unit of the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Research methods. This study uses qualitative research methods, the method of determining the subject is done by purposive sampling. Data analysis. The collection method used in the form of interviews, observations, documentation and data analysis, informants in this study are the Head of the Library, Librarian and Librarian. Results and Discussion. The result of this research is that user education at the Library Technical Implementation Unit of the State Islamic University of Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi is carried out every year for new students. The material provided during user education is material related to everything about libraries, services and library collections. The methods used in the implementation of user education are lectures, library tours and manuals. The obstacles faced were the lack of awareness and awareness of students about user education, inadequate time and limited facilities and infrastructure, while the efforts made were to motivate new students to take user education, create special classes and improve facilities and infrastructure.
