Abstract

THE IMAGE BUILDING ATTEMPT OF LOCAL TELEVISION USING LOCAL CULTUREBASED TELEVISION BROADCASTING PROGRAM (A Case Study on Yogyakarta “JOGJA TV”)is basically made to investigate the essence and role of television as the mass media, technical and production principles of television broadcasting program and to capture the meaning of television broadcasting programs particularly for the local television media of Yogyakarta JOGJA TV. This research aims to find out the image construction JOGJA TV wants to build as its attempt of strengthening its position and image building for the area where this media operates its broadcasting activity. The research method employed in this research is the descriptive qualitative one. Considering the problem proposed here, this research particularly employed the communication theory approach emphasizing on disclosing the role and function of television mass media within the society as a part of the attempt of building positive image on the existence of media. The conclusion of research process series states that in confirming the positive image within the society, JOGJA TV gives more dominant local load portion as its broadcasting basic concept. The concrete manifestation is by producing and then showing the local culture-based broadcasting programs with the more dominant program composition. The basic guidelines used by JOGJA TV in its attempt of building positive image for Yogyakarta people and surrounding includes to develop company profile as the main foundation as the principle of broadcasting organization process, producing television program and conducting the societal activities such as corporate social responsibility for its audience society.Keywords: image building, JOGJA TV, culture based television programme.

Abstract

Television is one of the most widely broadcast media undergo a process of evolution. Today the presence of broadcast media is certainly not out of a myriad of appreciation from many in the community. Man himself was unable to deny that a television media will always be present in front of him. Various impressions broadcast program comes through this medium, different interpretation will emerge from the community as audience. Now, television has become an important need among the millions of people in the world community. This can happen because one characteristic of this form of broadcast media that is intrinsically capable explores some of the information occurs in parts of the world manapan the same time. As part of a development of new audio-visual culture, television becomes the thinking about the main attraction in an impact to thewider community . Positive and negative impacts of television media can only be known if the people themselves are willing and able to follow the development of this medium.Keywords: Broadcasting Media, TV Function, and Society

Abstract

A producer or program maker of a audio visual have to posses the sense of creativity in searching the material of program production. This can be appeared from the experience, education and critical attitude. The producer who does not have a clear vision will produce an audio visual product that is limit quality and duplicate another programs that have been ever exist. Abstract

The study aimed to determine changes in the management of the broadcastpattern of six hours to four hours through the television news program “Channel 22”in TVRI Yogyakarta. This study used a descriptive research method with the review ofqualitative approaches. Location of this research is in TVRI Yogyakarta, source of dataincludes primary data and secondary data. The primary data obtained directly throughfield observations, interviews with informants, and literature. Techniques validity of thedata used is triangulation (triangulation, triangulation techniques, and triangulation oftime). Process analysis was performed using an interactive analysis model, then, thepresent data using sentences and utterances of researchers logically and systematically.The results of this study indicate that the broadcast pattern of six hours to four hours(in the news “Channel 22”) on TVRI Yogyakarta in 2013, a change that does appear inthe English language news material planning more emphasis on new material, so thatthe need for coverage in field, and not just repeat the news items that have been aired.In the new program (news “Channel 22”) contained deletion segments that existed inprevious news program (“Yogya Warta” and “BeritaJogya”). In terms of content, thecontent of broadcast news and information not meet the actual nature of the news andup to date. In addition, there is no certainty that the target audience looks at theprovision of the logo is still ambiguous.Keywords: management, television, broadcast, channel 22, and TVRI Yogyakarta

Abstract

Local television station as one form of public broadcast media have the same role in organizing the national private television broadcasts, such as in Jakarta. Although the majority of the material broadcast was inspired by various aspects of life in the area, sometimes some of the programs broadcast before it is seeded and got a good response and interest by the audience watching it. One example is a special broadcast program material lifting of traditional art forms and cultures that are sometimes presented with a more varied format. Such as local television, Jogja TV, has now become an expectation, especially for people who are in the range of broadcasting (public areas) as one of the effective media to contribute to developing the arts and culture while preserving valuable areas of Yogyakarta (Java). As a Special Region is expected to achieve a dynamic society and high culture, so as to develop the basis that there is a tradition of innovation in all spheres of social life of art and culture, economics, and science and technology as a form of community life in dynamic city as YogyakartaKeywords: local art, local culture, preservation and development, local television, Jogja TV.
