Abstract

This research aims to describe the efforts of teachers and teacher of subject to increase the interest of learners in the learning process in SMP Pertiwi 2 Padang, namely: 1) Describing of students learning interest in following learning process, 2) Efforts of supervisor to improve students’ learning interest in following learning process and, 3) Efforts of subject teachers to improve students’ learning interest in following learning process. This research is a descriptive research. This research takes most studenst of class VII, VIII and IX classes representing at every level in Junior high school Pertiwi 2 Padang which is served as research subjects. In this research, the researcher uses non-test instruments in collecting the data and it is done by using questionnaires. Sample is taken by using Stratified Simple Random Sampling. Analysis of the data is done by using a percentage formula. Results of the research can be described as follows: 1). Describing of students’ learning interest in following in following learning process are included into the unfavorable category with an average percentage of 48.74%,2). Efforts of supervisor to improve students’ learning interest in following learning process are included into good category with an average percentage of 45.82%, and 3). Efforts of subject teachers to improve students’ learning interest infollowing learning process are included into good category with an average percentage of 55.05%. in conclusion, the efforts of supervisor and subject teachers to increase students’ interest in learning process are included into good category. A recommendation from the result of this research is to improve students’ learning interest in following learning process. As well as a supervisor and subject teachers to pay more attention towards students’ learning interenst in following learning process in order to realize educational goals optimally.
