Abstract

ABSTRAKJamur Candida albicans merupakan mikroflora normal tubuh manusia bersifat patogen jika jumlahnya berlebihan dan daya tahan tubuh menurun. Secara umum infeksi yang disebabkan oleh C.albicans disebut kandidiasis. Masyarakat memanfaatkan rimpang temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) untuk pengobatan tradisional berbagai penyakit diantaranya keputihan dan sariawan.Tujuan penelitian untuk mengujikemampuan antifungi ekstrak rimpang temulawak terhadap C. albicans. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2016 sampai dengan Oktober 2016 bertempat di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Bioteknologi, Laboratorium Terpadu Universitas PGRI Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 6 perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak rimpang temulawak dan dilakukan 4 kaliulangan pada tiap perlakuan. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan bahwa ekstrak metanol rimpang temulawak mempunyai kemampuan antifungi terhadap Candida albicans secara in vitro, konsentrasi 10% ekstrak metanol rimpang temulawak menghasilkan diameter zona hambat sebesar 16,2 mm.Kata Kunci: ekstrak, rimpang temulawak, antifungi, Candida albicans.

Abstract

Candida albicans yeast is a normal microflora of the human body are pathogenic if the amount is excessive and decreased immune system. In general infections caused by C.albicans called candidiasis. People use ginger rhizome (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) for traditional treatment of various diseases including disease whitish and sprue. Research purposes  to test the ability of ginger rhizome extract antifungal against C. albicans. This study was conducted in August 2016 until October 2016 held at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Integrated Laboratory PGRI Palembang University. This study uses a completely randomized design  with six treatments using ginger rhizome extract concentration and performed four replications for each treatment. From the research that has been conducted shows that the methanol extract of ginger rhizome has the ability antifungal against Candida albicans in vitro, a concentration of 10% methanol extract of ginger rhizome produce inhibition zone diameter of 16.2 mm.Keywords: Extract, ginger rhizome, antifungal, Candida albicans.ABSTRAKJamur Candida albicans merupakan mikroflora normal tubuh manusia bersifat patogen jika jumlahnya berlebihan dan daya tahan tubuh menurun. Abstract

This  study  aims  to determine the quantitation of lactic acid bacteria and lactic acid bacteria as well as identify the concentration of lactic acid produced  from fermented catfish (Channa striata), tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), and fish Sepat  (Trichogaster trichopterus) on maked bekasam (fish fermented). This  research  was conducted at the Center for Health Laboratory Palembang on July till August 2009 . Research  used  titrimetric  method  for determining  the  levels  of  lactic acid. Total  Plate  Count  method  to  determine  the  amount  of  lactic  acid forming bacteria, while  the  identification  of  lactic  acid  bacteria is done through biochemical  tests  and  test  the differential characteristics  of  lactic  acid   forming bacteria . The highest  content of lactic acid bacteria is 124.904 x 103 colonies/ml and the highest levels of lactic acid is 6.363% derived from Sepat fermented fish. Sepat fermented fish and tilapia on making bekasam found lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus sp, Pediococcus sp  and Streptococcus sp. While the results of fermentation bekasam found only in fish cork lactic acid bacteria of the genus Lactobacillus and Streptococcus sp. Key words: fermentation, bekasam, identification, lactic acid bacteria,

Abstract

Research on the potential and development of medicinal plants was carried out from January to May 2017 in  the village of Meranjat, South Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatera Province. This study aims to determine the type, potential and development of traditional medicinal plants in the village of Meranjat. The research used descriptive survey method. Data collection is done by interview and observation. From the research, 41 kinds of plants are used by the villagers of Meranjat to treat 38 types of diseases and complaints. The village of Meranjat has the potential and good prospects for the development of medicinal plants. Key words : Development potential, medicinal plants ABSTRAK Penelitian tentang potensi dan pengembangan jenis tanaman obat telah dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai Mei 2017 di Desa Meranjat Kecamatan Indralaya Selatan Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis, potensi dan pengembangan jenis tanaman berkhasiat obat tradisional di Desa Meranjat.  Penelitian menggunakan metode survey deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan didapatkan 41 jenis tanaman yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Desa Meranjat untuk mengobati 38 jenis penyakit dan keluhan. Desa Meranjat memiliki potensi dan prospek yang baik untuk pengembangan tanaman berkhasiat obat. Kata kunci: potensi pengembangan, tanaman obat

Abstract

Study bacterial content of the Musi river water at high tide and low tide in the city of Palembang was implemented in January through April 2014. Objective research to determine the water quality of the river Musi at high tide and low tide is based on the total number of bacteria and bacterial coliformnya. This study used a different test (T-test) consisting of 2 factors and 5 replications. Observation parameters consist of: the total number of bacterial colonies growing on media NA, and the number coliform test results obtained from the estimation and confirmation tests. The data obtained by different test T-test. The results of the calculation and analysis of the differences found in total bacterial counts at high tide and low tide, it appears that events tidal effect on the bacterial content in the water of the river Musi. Total content of more bacteria at low tide than at high tide. Key words: water river Musi, the total number of bacteria, and coliform bacteria

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is the normal microflora of the human body. These bacteria can turn into pathogens from migrating to other areas of the body, the wounds and lower the bodys immune system causes ulcers, blood clots and other. One way to overcome this is by using pulai leaf. The porfuse research is to determine the bioactive material and antibacterial compounds contained in the pulai leaves bioaktifitasnya tested against S. aureus bacteria. Experimental research has been conducted on the antibacterial compound isolation process is done in a way: using Soxhlet extraction, fractionation using vacuum liquid chromatography, and purification by column chromatography gravity. Antibacterial bioactivity testing performed by the agar diffusion method. The results showed that the pulai leaves have antibacterial ability against S. aureus. The most active extract is methanol. Active fraction contained in the pulai leaves  belonged phenolic compounds. Keywords: antibacterial bioactivity, extract, fractions, pulai leaves, Staphylococcus aureus.

Abstract

Streptococcus mutans represent most bacterium kondusif cause caries. Society Indonesian have since long recognize leaf of sirih upon which munch with confidence can strengthen tooth and prevent caries. For that require to be research of effectiveness of infus leaf of sirih to S.mutans so that can know optimal potency upon which herb of antibakteri by in-vitro by counting growth of colony amount which grow  at each treatment. Research use RAL by 7 treatment and 4 restating. Result of research show to bring of leaf infus of sirih have an effect on very real to growth of bacterium S. mutans. Abstract

Diare dapat disebabkan oleh infeksi bakteri Escherichia coli. Pengobatan diare menggunakan antibiotik berlebihan dan kurang rasional maka dapat bersifat toksik dan mendorong berkembangnya resistensi bakteri. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi hal tersebut yaitu dengan pengobatan alternatif dengan cara mengembangkan obat tradisional menjadi sediaan fitofarmaka. Masyarakat di Desa Maur Kabupaten Musi Rawas menggunakan daun salung untuk mengobati diare. Berdasarkan literatur belum diketahui kandungan kimia antibakteri pada daun salung. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui cara memperoleh atau mengisolasi bahan bioaktif dan senyawa antibakteri yang terdapat pada daun salung, menentukan golongan senyawa antibakteri, menentukan Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum, serta kesetaraan bahan bioaktif dan senyawa antibakteri yang diperoleh dengan antibiotika tetrasiklin. Penelitian eksperimental telah dilakukan meliputi proses isolasi senyawa antibakteri dilakukan dengan cara: ekstraksi menggunakan soxhlet, fraksinasi menggunakan kromatografi cair vakum, dan pemurnian dengan kromatografi kolom gravitasi bumi. Pengujian efektivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi agar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak yang paling aktif adalah etil asetat. Senyawa aktif yang terdapat pada salung termasuk golongan senyawa terpenoid. Nilai KHM dari fraksi aktif daun salung tidak berbeda signifikan dengan KHM tetrasiklin. 1 µg/ml fraksi daun salung setara dengan 0,132 µg/ml tetrasiklin terhadap E. coli.

Abstract

Meatball skewers is a kind of snack foods made from flour and meat are formed round. However, it should be wary of the food safety meatball skewers, because it is usually sold in the open state. The risk of transmission of infection through food animal products is also associated with contaminated meat. The purpose of this study to check bacterium Escherichia coli to snacks meatball skewers in the traditional market town of Palembang. The research was conducted in September 2015 using a meatball skewers 5 samples taken from five traditional markets in the city of Palembang. This study was an observational descriptive study. Examination of the content of Escherichia coli bacteria using a three-stage test is test estimation, confirmed test, and completed test using the Most Probable Number (MPN) with three series of tubes. of 5 samples examined meatball skewers which were all negative Escherichia coli. Meatball skewers sold some traders in traditional markets Palembang qualified food safety set by the government.Keywords: Escherichia coli, meatball skewers, traditional market town of Palembang.ABSTRAKBakso tusuk merupakan sejenis makanan jajanan yang terbuat dari tepung dan daging yang dibentuk bulat. Namun perlu diwaspadai akan keamanan pangan bakso tusuk tersebut, karena biasanya dijual dalam keadaan terbuka. Risiko penularan infeksi melalui makanan produk hewan juga berhubungan dengan daging yang terkontaminasi.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memeriksakankandungan bakteri Escherichia coli pada jajanan bakso tusuk di pasar tradisional kota Palembang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2015 menggunakan 5 sampel bakso tusuk yang diambil dari 5 pasar tradisional yang ada di kota Palembang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif observasional. Pemeriksaan kandungan bakteri Escherichia coli menggunakan tiga tahapan uji yaitu uji pendugaan, uji penegasan, dan uji pelengkap menggunakan metode Most Probable Number (MPN) dengan 3 seri tabung. Dari 5 sampel bakso tusuk yang diperiksa semuanya negatif mengandung Escherichia coli. Bakso tusuk yang dijual pedagang di beberapa pasar tradisional Kota Palembang memenuhi syarat keamanan pangan yang ditetapkan pemerintah.Kata Kunci: Bakteri Escherichia coli, bakso tusuk, pasar tradisional kota Palembang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Shigella dysenteriae an intestinal microflora in the human body that can cause diarrheal disease shigellosis or dysentery . The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of inhibitory noni fruit extract on the growth of bacteria Shigella dysenterie performed in vitro. The research was conducted in March 2015. The experimental research has been conducted on the manufacture of noni fruit extract, the extract concentration manufacture, and testing of the extract of the test bacteria. The results showed that the noni fruit extract has inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria Shigella dysenteriae. At a concentration of 10% noni fruit extract was able to inhibit the growth of bacteria Shigella dysenteriae, and at a concentration of 80% obtained the highest inhibition zone. The higher concentration of noni fruit extract is given the greater the inhibition zone is formed. Keywords: inhibition, noni fruit extract, growth, Shigella dysenteriae
