Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has revolutionized the learning implementation system which was initially implemented face-to-face and turned into online learning. The strategy for implementing science practicum in elementary schools in this study is carried out by applying an innovative learning model, namely project based learning with a scientific approach that is able to develop 21st century learning skills, namely critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Examples of the implementation of elementary science practicum with the application of project based learning, namely the content of elementary school science lessons in class V semester II, Theme 7 (Events in Life), Sub-theme 1 (National Events of the Colonial Period), in learning 1, 2 and 5. The strategy for implementing natural science practicum in elementary schools is expected to be able to increase student interest, skills, and independence in learning and reduce student boredom in online learning which seems monotonous.Keywords: project based learning, science practicum in elementary schools

Abstract

Media is an introduction to communication, one of which is in the learning process. Media as an introduction in the learning process is very necessary to bridge students in learning science. One type of media that is applied in elementary science learning is local culture-based media. The use of this media, is able to increase the understanding and achievement of student learning because learning science elementary schools that are based on local culture is very close to the daily lives of students. In this study a mapping of elementary school science learning grade IV is in accordance with the theme in the 2013 curriculum. Each theme that discusses the subject of natural science is presented through the local culture of Bali in accordance with the learning content. Local culture-based media in learning can be in the form of teaching materials or student worksheets. The presence of local culture-based media is able to increase students' motivation and learning activities which lead to increased learning outcomes. Keywords: Local Culture Based Media, Elementary Science Learning

Abstract

The results of an educational process not only produce intelligent and skilled humans, but also people who have character. Therefore, it is necessary to develop character education. One concrete effort that can be implemented is literacy activities. Literacy is a activity including reading, writing, understanding, and communicating information in order to obtain the meaning and message contained in the information. Literacy that is carried out in an effort to improve character education is based on local wisdom literacy. This literacy can be done through several Balinese local wisdom products in the form of folklore, song art, as well as information on various religious holidays that are closely related to the values and order of life of the Balinese people. Through this activity, students 'interest in reading will increase because literacy activities are carried out close to students' daily lives. In addition, messages obtained in literacy activities will direct students to behave in a positive direction. Keywords: strengthening character education, literacy, local wisdom

Abstract

Science learning in elementary school experiences various basic problems. Based on the exploration results, it was found that: (i) the problems of implementing the learning model experienced were the teacher's mind set and comfort zone in teaching; (ii) the problem with using learning media is the teacher's ability to observe the characteristics of students; (iii) the problem of science laboratory learning design in elementary schools is optimizing the existence of laboratory facilities and/or infrastructure to improve the quality of learning; and (iv) the problems of facilities in science learning are the availability of learning resources, flexibility and accessibility of learning resources, and the existence of science practicum facilities and/or infrastructure in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to integrate the 4C-oriented Tri Hita Karana learning activities in the Elementary Science Basic Concepts course in: (i) initial activities; (ii) core activities; and (iii) closing activities. The results of this literature review, namely: (i) the integration of learning activities in the initial activities carried out by paying attention to the learning environment, learning resources, and the readiness of educators and students from both psychological and cognitive aspects; (ii) the integration of learning activities into the core activities is carried out by conveying learning objectives, presenting natural phenomena, carrying out technical learning according to the design or lesson plans, and concluding lessons; and (iii) the integration of learning activities in closing activities is carried out by maintaining the learning environment, assessing the learning process, and submitting the next learning plan. The three forms of learning activities implement Tri Hita Karana-based educational and teaching values, namely religious, spiritual, humanist, democratic, nationalist, environmental aesthetics, and ecological and are oriented towards creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, communication ( 4C)
