<![CDATA[This paper aims to analyze the students’ English ability through selected response type by Socrative APP. The instruments of the test were multiple choice items and semi-structure interview to the students and lecturers. The tests were used multiple-choice items that consisted of 45 items; 25 items for structure and for reading sections 20 items. The test was designed based on the validity, reliability and curriculum. The sample of this research was 32 students of the first semester in Musi Rawas University. The result of this study showed that the students were mastered structure/grammar section more rather than reading section test. Their lecturers often taught grammar rather than reading and their lack of interest in reading were the reasons.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading comprehension is a bridge to understand scientific books that is why the students of Indonesia should to understand and comprehend. The study aims to know whether story grammar strategy improve the students’ reading comprehension or not. The focus of this study was the tenth grades students of SMA Negeri Bangun Jaya, X1 as experiment group and X3 as control group. The sample was chosen by the cluster sampling technique. This study was non-equivalent control group design. The data was analyzed by using pretest and posttest data. The result showed there was significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between the students who were taught by using story grammar strategy and those who were taught by using conventional strategy. The students who are taught by using story grammar strategy could improve their reading comprehension achievement significantly. Most of the students in the experimental group could share the information of the next to their classmates]]>

<![CDATA[Reading is the process of receiving information and knowledge for a better life. Reading habits should be formed by the environment. Village is the smallest environment of a country and it has a significant influence in formed a habits of their society. Cultivating Reading Culture is expected to be a good national character. The reading level of the Indonesian people is still very low and therefore a method is needed in cultivating a reading culture. Based on the other and prevous study reading motivation influences the culture of reading and reading habits. Therefor, it is crusial to find out model of teaching or motivate students or children’s to read. In order to follow up research on reading culture and support the government in finding methods to cultivate the reading culture of Indonesian people starting from remote area so that they are able to play an active role in releasing their backwardness, this research is carried out. This research was conducted in Lubuk Pauh Village, BTS ULU District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra. This study involved 206 village children who were under 15 years of age that randomly divided into two, the treatment group and the control group. Treatment is carried out for 16 meetings. The reading model by using children's books can improve children's reading culture in remote areas by looking at the enthusiasm of children and parents towards the implementation of activities.]]>

<![CDATA[Reading plays an important role to help people develop their knowledge and broaden their horizon. This research focuses on the children reading motivation in remote area. Two hundred and six children are involved in this study. They are grouped into experiment and control group. The experiment group was given children’s books in order to improve their reading motivation. To know the improvement, this study used questionnaire by Wigfield and Guthrie to be analized through SPSS 20. The result shows that children in the experiment group are more motivated than the control one. Based on the Mean result, there is significant improvement between pre and post test in experiment group; 67.53 to 81.42. In the same line, the result of Tcount 26,747 > t tabel 1,986, it means there is significant difference between pre and post result. Meanwhile, The mean of Control group is not significant improvement; 68.08 to 68.05. Control group also has Tcount 1,731 < Ttabel 1,986 that means there is no significant difference between pre and post result. It can be concluded that children’s books are useful to improve the children’s reading motivation or the love of reading in remote area]]>

<![CDATA[Theory of emotional intelligence has been proven to contribute to the teaching and learning process, and increase students’ achievement. This research was aimed to investigate whether or not there was correlation betweem emotional intelligence and reading comprehension achievement of the eleventh grade students of SMAN 2 Kota Lubuklinggau. Two hundred and ninety four students participated in this research. Emotional intelligence questionnaire and reading comprehension test were used as the instruments. Analyses by Pearson Product-Moment Correlation revealed that there was a significant correlation between emotional intelligence and reading comprehension achievement with r-obtained (.155) and p (.008). Among the four aspects of emotional intelligence, only emotional management correlated significantly with reading comprehension achievement. Furthermore, regression analyses showed that emotional management had 2.5% contribution in predicting students’ reading comprehension.]]>

<![CDATA[The scaffolded reading experience framework consists of a set of prereading, during-reading, and post-reading activities to use with any genre of text, including fiction and nonfiction. The aim of this study was the effectiveness of scaffolded reading experience in teaching reading comprehension to the students of Musi Rawas University? The method used in this research was quasi-experimental method. The population of this study was all of the students of Musi Rawas University. The sample of this study was students of accounting study progrom in first semester taken through convenience non random sampling. The data were collected through a written test. It was pre-test and post test. The data analyzed through t-test formula. From this study it was found that the students’ pre-test average score in the experimental group was 55 and in the control group was 53.91. Meanwhile the students’ post-test average score in the experimental group was 80 and the students’ average score in the control group was 75. In addition of t-obtained were 2.049 where the value of t-table was 1.684 at df 74 in significance level of 0.05 and with one-tailed testing. Since the value of t-obtained was higher than the critical value of the t-table (2.049>1.684), it can be concluded that, teaching reading comprehension by using scaffolded reading experience (SRE) to the students of Musi Rawas University was effective.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan pendampingan program pangan industri rumah tangga (PIRT)di Desa Air Satan Kecamatan Muara Beliti Kabupaten Musi Rawas adalah untuk memberi informasi bagaimana pentingnya pendaftaran PIRT dalam usaha makanan. Metode dalam penyampaian program adalah ceramah, metode Tanya Jawab, diskusi dan simulasi perizinan. Hasil pendampingan dapat dilihat peserta antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan yang diberikan dan peserta juga merasa bertambah pengetahuan tentang Program Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga (PIRT) di Desa Air Satan Kecamatan Muara Beliti Kabupaten Musi Rawas. Masih kurangnya kesadaran pemilik industri di Kabupaten Musi Rawas dalam pengurusan sertifikat SPP-IRT, Hal ini dapat dilihat masih adanya makanan yang beredar yang belum memiliki kode izin.]]>

<![CDATA[Nowadays, the learners are interested in finding way to learn English easily. They are able to have home resources such as technological tools at home and opportunities to use it in their learning process. Google Classroom is a part of the online Google Apps for Education suite of productivity applications for teachers and students in online learning. This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of Google Classroom in enhancing students’ English. The design of this study is a quasi-experimental design (Non design) by one group pre-test and post test design. The population of this study was all of the first semester students of Universitas Musi Rawas. The sample was Karyawan Class students of the first semester of Universitas Musi Rawas. The total of students was as many as 50 students of Karyawan Class. The research sample was selected based on purposive sampling technique. The instruments used in this study were observation and test. The result of this study shows that the significance level smaller than significance (0.05) which indicates that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It means that Using Google Classroom influences teaching learning process positively.]]>
