Abstract

Research on profile and productivity  of international scholarly publication indexed by Scopus of top five universities by webometrics (Gadjah Mada University, University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Bogor Agricultural Institute, and Brawijaya University) had been done. Data were collected by searching through Scopus database, using “Indonesia” as keyword on affiliation search and publication of five universities was chosen from 2006-2016. The obtained data were the number of publications per year, the number of publications by fields of research, the authors collaboration between countries, and the authors collaboration between institutions. The top ten research subjects, authors collaboration between countries, and author collaboration between institutions were determined and analyzed by statistics and  descriptive method using microsoft excel and the result displayed in graphs and tables. Results showed that the number of international publications has increased significantly. Bandung Institute of Technology having the most publications and followed consecutively by University of Indonesia, Gadjah Mada University, Bogor Agricultural Institute and Brawijaya University. Research subject illustrated the research trend produced by institutions. Most publications produced by Bandung Institute of Technology were in engineering, while Bogor Agricultural Institute produced mostly in agricultural and biological Sciences. The most collaborating country were Japan, Malaysia, Australia, USA, and Netherland. Collaboration between countries and collaboration between agencies could be motivated by factors such as geographical proximity and numerous advantages which can get form research collaboration.

Abstract

This paper is an analytical study on trends of the development of international publications in Indonesian biodiversity research. The study is aimed at evaluating results of Indonesian biodiversity research included in papers that are published in Scopus indexed journals. The objectives of this study are as follows: (1) Finding out the number of international publications in biodiversity that are indexed in Scopus database during the period of 1995 to 2015 (2) Finding out international journals that publish papers on Indonesian biodiversity research (3) Finding out the productivity of researchers of Indonesian biodiversity (4) Finding out the productivity of institutions/affiliates that publish research papers on Indonesian biodiversity (5) Finding out trends of Indonesian biodiversity research development subject. Data used in this study is international publications in Indonesian biodiversity retrieved from Scopus (www.scopus.com). Data was collected in December 2015 by searching through Scopus database using keywords ‘biodiverse and Indonesia’ under the categories of article title, abstract, keyword within the period of 1995 to 2015. With this method, data on the number of annual international publications, journals that contains Indonesian biodiversity research papers, researchers, researchers’ affiliations and subjects were collected and analyzed by utilizing Microsoft Excel 2010. The analysis shows that publications of international papers on biodiversity development are found at the highest occurrence in 2015. Journal with the most papers on biodiversity research is the Biodiversity and Conservation. Most productive researcher in writing papers on biodiversity is Tscharntke, T. Institution/affiliate that publishes the most biodiversity papers is Universitat Gottingen. Country that has the most publications in Indonesian biodiversity is Indonesia. The most popular subject during the period of 1995 to 2015 is Agricultural and Biological Sciences.

Abstract

Annales Bogorienses is a Nationally accredited scientific journal in the field of biotechnology. This study carried out a reference analysiss of published artichels, from 2012 to 2017 (6 years). The purpose of this reference analysis study was to find out reference distributions based on number, type of reference, type of publication, language, up-to-date sources use, authorship pattern and citation, distribution. From the result of the reference analysis, it shows that there are 1853 references in a span of 6 years or an average of 29.88 references per article. The typeof reference sources used the most is articles with a precentage of 86,19%, and the smallest is proceedings. The biggest type of reference publishing is the printed references with  precentage 87.15%, greater than the online references which has recentage 12.85%. In terms of references language, English references were mostly used with a precentage of 95.20%. In terms of citation, it is known that 99.4% of the references used were outside of Annales Bogorienses journal articles with a ratio of 1: 209.55 compared to the number ofcitations. In terms of the up-to-date sources use, 62% of 10 year-old references were used. This is more than 5 year-old reference use which has a precentage of 89%, than that of single author which have a precentage of 11%. The average number of citation in scientific articles in Annales Bogorienses journal from 2012 to 2017 is 384.2 citation per year.
