Abstract

Learning is the process of interaction between students between students and educators by involving parents and learning resources in the atmosphere of learning and playing in PAUD units or programs. Learning activities in early childhood are essentially concrete curriculum development in the form of a set of plans that contain a number of learning experiences through play given to early childhood based on the potential and developmental tasks that must be mastered in order to achieve the competencies that must be possessed by children. Learning methods that can be used in teaching English in kindergarten are MASAK learning methods (Easy, Fun, Casual, Active, Creative). It aims to foster children's courage in expression in English so that children are interested in ongoing learning activities. The MASAK learning model invites children to directly interact with their friends, take action, and is a fun activity, so that children will easily remember vocab or vocabulary. The role of a teacher in providing learning media that is interesting and easy for children to understand is needed. Explicitly, this activity aims to explain the procedures and benefits of applying the MASAK learning method in vocabulary learning and English speaking skills to the teachers PAUD RA Bintang Sembilan Cipayung, Depok. From the results of the implementation of community service activities, several conclusions are given as follows: (1) The COOK Method (Easy, Fun, Casual, Active, Creative) is one of the right methods to be used in teaching English, especially vocabulary and listening to children with fun and easy way. (2) Teachers can utilize the use of the COOK method in conveying learning about mastering English vocabulary. (3) Schools can utilize the COOK method to support learning so as to improve the quality of learning and produce quality learning.

Abstract

Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’s novel that is full range of emotion, incident, mystery and horror aspects, which makes the reader’s feeling unsteady. This novel tells us about a dual personality much depicted in plays and films, also influential in the growth of understanding of the subconscious mind through its treatment of a kind and intelligent physician who turns into a psychotic monster after imbibing a drug intended to separate good from evil in a personality. The purpose of this study is to describe the moral aspects in the main character in Strange of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. In this research method, the writer used two sources of data, the main source and the secondary source. The main source is taken from novel entitled Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and the secondary source is taken from Internet, and furthermore. The result of this research showed that moral aspects of Mr. Utterson; as an individual is a good person; he had good relation to society and he had a good relation to God. So he is a kind person.Keywords: moral aspects, main character

Abstract

Abstract If there is a problem of infidelity, women are always admitted as inmates, and are stigmatized as other ideal women. When women, who get women become mistresses try to provide clarification on the accusations, this shows their resistance. This research has the title "Analysis of the Wife's Discourse Kills Another Ideal Woman in Tiktok Videos" aims to find out how the position of women in a text is. This research is based on the idea, in this video there are two types of women, namely the legal wife and the mistress of her husband. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The discourse analysis technique from Teun A van Dijk is used to view video discourse and comments through character elements, macro and micro structures, and focalization. The research results are; that not all women have the same position in a text. This means that not all women are patients, and are always the guilty party, even though they are portrayed as bad person. Key words: Mistress, Wife, Mistress, Tiktok, Discourse Abstrak Jika ada masalah perselingkuhan, perempuan selalu diakui sebagai narapidana, dan distigmatisasi sebagai perempuan idaman lain lainnya. Ketika perempuan yang menjadikan perempuan sebagai selingkuhan mencoba memberikan klarifikasi atas tuduhan tersebut, ini menunjukkan perlawanan mereka. Penelitian ini berjudul “Analisis Wacana Istri Tewaskan Wanita Idaman Lain dalam Video Tiktok” bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana posisi perempuan dalam sebuah teks. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemikiran, dalam video ini ada dua tipe wanita, yaitu istri sah dan perempuan idaman lain suaminya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik analisis wacana dari Teun A van Dijk digunakan untuk melihat wacana dan komentar video melalui elemen karakter, struktur makro dan mikro, dan fokalisasi. Hasil penelitian adalah; bahwa tidak semua perempuan memiliki posisi yang sama dalam sebuah teks. Artinya tidak semua wanita adalah pasien, dan selalu menjadi pihak yang bersalah, meskipun mereka digambarkan sebagai orang jahat. Kata kunci: Perempuan idaman lain, Istri, Nyonya, Tiktok, Wacana

Abstract

Education is necessary for every individual so education at an early age is a prominent stage. At this level, various educational settings from informal, non-formal, or formal institutions as well are available. One of the non-formal institutions for early-stage education is Taman Belajar Ar Raihan. This institution helps students to gain knowledge in several skills, including in the academic field. One of the academic subjects is English for the Kindergarten level. Based on the concept of learning with fun, a variety of learning approaches and media are needed to promote a more interesting and fun learning classroom. By focusing on the use of the flash card as the learning media, the team provided training on the use of the flash card in improving English vocabulary mastery in particular. In this way, the students are more interested and happier to learn English.

Abstract

Getting knowledge by reading is one of the prominent ways, and reading comprehension is a skill to help students in learning process. In fact, there are many EFL students have some difficulties in reading comprehension. The objective of this study is to analyze the students’ difficulties in reading comprehension skills. Descriptive qualitative method is used in this study, and by using purposive sampling, 98 students of Basic Reading Class at English Education Program in University of Indraprasta PGRI were engaged. The data collected by administering the questionnaires, then it was analyzed to find out what kind of the difficulties faced by EFL students in reading comprehension. The questionnaires were administered in collecting the data, and it was analyzed descriptively to know what kind of reading comprehension difficulties faced by EFL students. According to the results, the most reading difficulty faced by the students are distinguishing between main ideas and supporting details, getting main idea between paragraphs, the topic of the texts from other culture, relating topic and background knowledge, understanding vocabulary and inferring the text. Based on these findings, some reading strategies should be applied to figure out these barriers in reading comprehension skills.
