Abstract

Abstract: This article examines the sufi Qur’anic exegesis of al-Baḥr al-Madīd on how is the dialectic of ẓāhir and bāṭin shaping a new meaning of the Qur’an. By using descriptive analysis, this article argues that Ibn ‘Ajībah is one of the authoritative sufi scholars who tends to interpret the Qur’an with regards to the balanced hermeneutics of the exoteric (ẓāhir) and the esoteric (bāṭin) meanings of it. The existence of the esoteric meaning should not violate the exoteric interpretation. According to Ibn ‘Ajībah, the exoteric meaning becomes the initial basis for the birth of the esoteric interpretation. Related to the symbolic (ishārī) interpretation, it is quite visible when Ibn ‘Ajībah interprets the term al-arḍ in his exegesis. This article finds that there are at least four allegorical meanings with representative of Sufism presented by Ibn ‘Ajībah in terms of al-arḍ, namely: qalb (heart), ashbāḥ (body), nafs (soul), and arḍ al-ḥikmah (wisdom). The four meanings presented are diametrically different from the meaning of arḍ in its linguistic sense which is generally perceived by the most Qur’anic commentators as the ‘earth’ inhabited by humans.

Abstract

This article aims to explain Ibn Atiyya’s method to revealing Israiliyyat stories in his interpretation of al-Muharrar al-Wajiz. This research is an attempt to see how far Ibn Atiyya’s consistency is in applying the general method he has described in the preliminary of his tafsir when interacting with Israiliyyat stories. Apart from that, this research also seeks to explore Ibn Atiyya’s detailed method when presenting the Israiliyyat narrations in its interpretation and expose the practical examples as the application of the method. Using the analytical descriptive method, this study finds that Ibn Atiyya is quite consistent in applying the general method he has described in the preliminary of his tafsir by mentioning important Israiliyyat stories that can’t be separated from the explanation of the meaning of the verse. In contrast to the previous commentators who mentioned the Israiliyyat narrations in length and width, Ibn Atiyya described Israiliyyat reports briefly and criticized the narrations that had no basis or arguments sahih that could be justified. In addition, this study also found that Ibn Atiyya was careful in taking Israiliyyat stories and trying to free the tafsir from the Israiliyyat stories which was not based on the explanation of the Prophet Muhammad. Ibn Atiyyah also calls for reducing the stories of Israiliyyat in the tafsir literature and sometimes also adding comments and criticisms to the narrations of Israiliyyat that he mentions.

Abstract

Penulisan ini dilatarbelakangi adanya mujahadah pembacaan surat al-F?tihah sebanyak 1000 kali di desa Pampung yang bukan di lingkungan pesantren, yang kemudian disebut dengan Muj?hadah Hizib F?tihah. Hizib F?tihah merupakan hizib yang langka karena di wilayah Magelang khususnya, hanya segelintir orang yang mendapatkan ijazah langsung dari Mujiz. Hizib tersebut memiliki banyak perbedaan dari hizib F?tihah yang tersebar di media sosial. Adapun permasalahan yang diangkat adalah bagaimana praktik dan makna rutinan Muj?hadah Hizib F?tihah bagi masyarakat di desa Pampung? Kajian ini termasuk kajian living Qur’an yang bersifat lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan memakai metode deskriptif-analitik. Sumber data yang digunakan terdiri dari sumber primer yang didapat dari wawancara, dan sumber data sekunder dari berbagai sumber yang bersangkutan. Data tersebut dianalisis menggunakan teori sosiologi pengetahuan Karl Menheim. Artikel ini menyimpulkan bahwa Muj?hadah Hizib F?tihah memiliki fungsi dari dua sisi. Pertama fungsi sosial yang mana hubungan masyarakat semakin terjalin dengan baik, interaksi sosial semakin kental. Kedua, fungsi spiritual yang mana mujahadah tersebut menjadi sarana ikhtiar masyarakat memenuhi kebutuhan batin dan mendekatkan diri kepada Allah.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang kajian living Qur’an pada content Riko the Series, animasi Qur’ani yang diproduksi oleh Garis Sepuluh Corporation. Secara literal dalam kontennya menampilkan langsung persinggungan antara ayat dengan cerita yang termuat, story Islami dengan pesan-pesan religi dan edukasi ilmiah dengan gaya sederhana yang mudah dipahami anak-anak. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk meninjau penjelasan Al-Qurˋan yang ditampilkan dalam konten animasi Riko the Series dan mendeskripsikan resepsi Al-Qurˋan oleh pihak produksi Riko the Series. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kualitatif berupa studi lapangan (field research) yang menggunakan pendekatan etnografi secara virtual dengan teori resepsi Al-Qurˋan yang dikembangkan Ahmad Rafiq, yakni; resepsi eksegesis, resepsi estetis, dan resepsi fungsional. Hasil penelitian ini ialah setiap penjelasan Al-Qurˋan yang ditampilkan selalu dihubungkan dengan pendekatan saintis untuk memudahkan anak-anak dalam memahami kegiatan sehari-harinya. Tim produksi telah melakukan resepsi Al-Qurˋan secara eksegesis (penjelasan Al-Qurˋan dengan pendekatan saintis), estetis (sajian Al-Qurˋan yang dikemas dalam bentuk cerita animasi), dan fungsional (landasan Al-Qurˋan dalam proyek Riko the Series yang terinspirasi dari surah an-Nashr). Kata kunci: Riko the Series, Animasi Qurˋani, Pendekatan Saintis,   This article discusses the study of the living Qur'an through the content of Riko the Series, a Qur'anic animation produced by Garis Ten Corporation. Literally in its content, it displays direct contact between verses and the stories it contains: Islamic stories with religious messages and scientific education in a simple style that is easy for children to understand. The purpose of this study is to review the Al-Qur'an explanation displayed in the animated content of Riko the Series and to describe the reception of the Al-Qur'an by the production team of Riko the Series. This research is a qualitative study in the form of field research using a virtual ethnographic approach with the Al-Qur'an reception theory developed by Ahmad Rafiq, namely, exegesis reception, aesthetic reception, and functional reception. The result of this research is that every Al-Qur'an explanation displayed is always associated with a scientific approach to make it easier for children to understand their daily activities. The production team has carried out a reception of the Qur'an in an ethical manner (explanation of the Qur'an with a scientific approach), aesthetically (presentation of the Qur'an packaged in the form of animated stories), and functionally (the foundation of the Qur'an in the Riko the Series project inspired by Surah an-Nashr). Abstract

The interpretation of Ruhullah Khomeini which is agreed upon as a Sufistic interpretation is interesting for further discussion. This paper attempts to explore Imam Khomeini’s hermenutics, starting from his paradigm of the Qur’an and its exegesis, then examines his theory of allegorical interpretation by looking at how it produces new meanings that go beyond the literal meaning of the text or reach esoteric meanings, especially in terms of al-raḥmān and al-raḥīm. This paper use Paul Ricoeur’s interpretation theory as a thinking partner to find the idea of a surplus meaning that inhernt in every single text, including the Qur’anic text. This research finds three main points: Imam Khomeini’s idea on the diversity of meanings as a logical consequence from the premise that the Qur’an has two meanings, exoteric and esoteric; allegorical interpretation of Imam Khomeini which is explained discursively depicting a Sufistic-philosophical face and colored by Shia ideology; the interpretation of the terms al-raḥmān and al-raḥīm presents the concept of wujūdīyah (the existence) as a result of synthesis from the concepts of previous philosophers, especially Ibn ‘Arabī and Mulla Sadra. The diversity of meanings of al-raḥmān and al-raḥīm shown in Imam Khomeini’s interpretation from several views and his personal synthesis, includes: the two terms are interpreted the same and the repetition is only confirmation, meaning compassion and kindness, the Names and Attributes of Allah that reach the level of existence and manifestation.

Abstract

Tulisan ini ingin memberikan pemetaan terhadap urgensi pelayanan konseling teman sebaya dalam lingkungan pondok pesantren. Menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekaan meta analisis menganalisis konten dari studi terdahulu. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Menampilkan pemetaan tentang pentingnya penerapan konseling teman sebaya atau peer counseling yang ditinjau dari sudut pandang santri, pengelola pesantren, dan kiai yang menjadi unsur dari pesantren. Argumen ini dibangun dengan melihat bahwa pesantren menjadi salah satu institusi yang masih perlu dilakukan pengoptimalan pengaplikasian layanan konseling. Melihat kompleksnya permasalahan yang ada terlebih yang dialami oleh santri.

Abstract

This study aims to explain Ach Dhofir Zuhry's oral interpretation of the Qur'an that discusses post-truth discourse. The emergence of post-truth in recent years seems to have eliminated the dividing line between truth and falsehood. Consequently, digitalization presents significant negative impacts in the social, economic, political, and, of course, religious dimensions. In addition, post-truth also opens opportunities for religious people to improve their religious understanding, but on the other hand, the digital world contributes to the increasing issue of religious intolerance and exclusivism. Along with this phenomenon, Ach Dhofir Zuhri came up with an interpretation of the Qur'an through oral speech delivered through social media platforms. Based on qualitative data, this study analyzes literature and digital data, as well as interviews with Dhofir Zuhry. By elaborating on the idea of oral interpretation and modern interpretive discourse, this study shows that Zuhry's oral interpretation in the digital world offers a new perspective on the discussion of Islam and post-truth. In this case, the concept of tabayyun becomes an ethical-contextual solution to face the post-truth era by encouraging the maximum utilization of human reason in social media.
