Abstract

AbstractMost of the maternity mothers stated that they could not stand the pain they felt, especially in the abdomen, waist, back and radiating to the spine, so that the mother continued to feel pain during the first stage of labor. Contractions during labor can cause pain. Labor pain is a problem that has not received special attention, even though the purpose of intrapartum care itself is to reduce pain in labor, in addition to providing calm and comfort to the mother, it can also help speed up the process of opening the birth canal. reduced by taking non-pharmacological actions, one of which is the provision of massage effleurage. Massage effleurage which is done in the abdominal area to help reduce pain that arises during the labor process. The purpose of this study was to determine whether massage effleurage can reduce the pain response in women in the first stage of labor based on the literature review. The design of scientific papers is in the form of a literature review with three articles taken from the Google Scholar journal page with the keyword "massage effleurage". “labor pain” and “Active phase I stage”. The number of respondents from the three articles was 49 mothers who gave birth. The average value of pain response before effleurage massage was 5.883, and the average value of pain response after effleurage massage was 3.576. The conclusion is that the action of massage effleurage can help reduce the pain response in the active phase of the first stage of labor. Suggestions for health workers, especially midwives, to be able to apply the effleurage massage technique in the first stage of the active phase to reduce pain in the labor process. Keywords: Massage Effleurage, Level of Labor Pain in Active Phase I

Abstract

Abstract

Most of the mothers who gave birth stated that they could not stand the pain that was felt, especially in the abdomen, waist, back and spread to the spine, so that the mother continued to feel pain during the first stage of labor. Contractions during labor can cause pain. Labor pain can cause stress that causes excessive release of hormones such as catecholamines and steroids. One method of reducing pain without drugs that can be given continuously, is cost-effective, and has a low risk, namely acupressure. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of acupressure therapy on reducing labor pain in the active phase of the first stage. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design with a One Group Pre-Post Test Design approach. The population in this study were all birth mothers who checked their pregnancies. The sampling technique was carried out by accidental sampling and a sample of 20 respondents was obtained. Collecting data by observing the acupressure treatment with the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). Univariate analysis using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using paired t test. The results of the study mean labor pain before being given acupressure was 6.48 and after being given acupressure was 3.84. There was an effect of acupressure techniques on active phase I labor pain (p–value 0.0001 <0.05) with a decrease of 2.64. Acupressure therapy can be applied to midwifery care for mothers in the first stage of labor which aims to reduce labor pain

Abstract

Cases of dysmenorrhea are quite high among college students, ranging from 53% to 86%. If this problem is not resolved immediately, it will have an impact on decreasing learning activities, social activities and student learning achievements. One of the non-pharmacological treatments that can be done alone is with warm compresses and lavender aromatherapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of warm compress and lavender aromatherapy to reduce dysmenorrhea. This pre-experimental study involved two groups (warm compress group and the lavender aromatherapy group) with purposive sampling. The number of samples is 30 respondents. Pain is measured by Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Statistical test with paired sample t-test and independent t-test. The results showed that there was a decrease in the dysmenorrhea pain scale after intervention. In the warm compress group it decreased from 4.00 to 2.93 (p = 0.001). In the lavender aromatherapy group, from a scale of 3.40 to 2.60 (p=0.001). From the results of the difference in the effect of warm compresses and lavender aromatherapy, it shows a p-value of 0.575, Its means can be said that warm compresses and lavender aromatherapy are both effective. in reducing dysmenorrhea

Abstract

Labor and birth are normal physiological processes. Labor pain is a physiological condition. Pain that occurs can affect the mother's condition in the form of fatigue, fear, worry and cause stress. then an effort is needed to reduce pain in laboring mothers, one of which is Music Therapy. Music therapy can be done by laboring mothers. Music therapy is useful in laboring mothers in reducing labor pain. This study aims to determine the effect of classical music therapy on labor pain in the first stage. This type of research is quantitative research with quasy experimental Designs with One Group Pretest Posttest design. The population in this study were all 30 laboring mothers. Sample technique using total sampling. With a sample of 30 respondents. The research was conducted from March to April 2023. Data analysis used wilcoxon test. The results of the study obtained the pain intensity of respondents before the intervention was averaged 3.20 with a standard deviation of 0.610. While the average pain intensity of respondents after the intervention was 2.47 with a standard deviation of 0.507. From the statistical test, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect between pain intensity before intervention and after intervention (p value = 0.000 <0.05). From the results of this study, it is known that music therapy is effective in reducing the intensity of pain in labor phase I.
