Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using mobile phones on student achievement in the SKI (Islamic Cultural History) Class XI subject at MA NW Dames in the 2020/2021 academic year. This type of research is quantitative research. The population in this study were all students of class XI MA NW Dames, Suralaga District, East Lombok Regency, for the 2020/2021 academic year, totaling 42 people. Given that the population in this study is less than 100, this study uses population research, where the population in question is also the sample in the study. The instrument used in this study was a learning achievement test.Based on the results of the study, the average value (mean) for the experimental class was 83.80 while the average (mean) obtained for the control class was 63.28. From the average value of these results, it is known that the experimental class which is taught by using cellphones is not allowed to have a higher learning achievement than the control class which is taught to be allowed to use cellphones. To test the normality of the data using the Chi Square formula, the values ​​of the experimental class and control class are normally distributed. For the experimental class the value of 2 count (9.3630) < 2 table (11.070) and the control class value of 2 count (7.1308) < 2 table (11.070). Meanwhile, to find the homogeneity using the F test formula which shows that the two groups have homogeneous conditions seen from the value of Fcount (1,193) < Ftable (2,12). Meanwhile, to test the hypothesis using the t-test formula. From the t-test data with the formula separated variance and polled variance, it was obtained tcount > ttable (6,753 and 6,953 >2,021). Thus, the learning process that is not allowed to use mobile phones can improve student achievement.
