Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) systems utilize solar energy as a renewable energy source. A PV system can be connected to utility networks to ensure reliability. This study proposes a PV system model with direct current load on residential installation connected to utility grid. Optimal analysis of PV systems is done by comparing the architecture, energy production, losses, reliability and economic aspect considering the constraints of renewable energy fraction and capacity shortage. The results show PV system connections with grid reduce the capacity requirements of photovoltaic modules and batteries with a good level of reliability. The grid connected system equipped with batteries has the best level of renewable energy utilization with an excess electricity value of 2.19%. From an economic aspect, the system with the lower renewable energy fraction has less energy costs. This is due to the high price of PV components compared to the price of electricity from utility. Abstract

Non-linear loads increasing on a power system results in harmonic distortion (THD) increasing. Harmonic distortion increasing getting bad influences on power system components. Measurement at one of PLN's customer installations with many non-linear loads shows the amount of voltage THD 9.41% and current THD 15.05%. To reduce the harmonic distortion we can use harmonic filters. The filter designed is a single-tunned passive filter. The design of harmonic filters adapted to the dominant order occured. Filters are not only used to reduce harmonic distortion occurred but also increase power factor. From the simulation results that by installing a single-tunned passive filters on the system, voltage THD has decreased from 9.41% to 6.61% while the current THD decreased from 15.05% to 10.40%. Meanwhile, system power factor increased from 0.971 to 0.992. Keywords: Total Harmonic Distortion, Passive Filter, Nonliear Load

Abstract

Studi ini membahas pengaruh unbalance under voltage (UBUV) dan unbalance over voltage (UBOV) sesuai standar NEMA MG-I 2003 terhadap kinerja motor induksi tiga fasa dengan analisis menggunakan perhitungan metode komponen simetris untuk mengetahui parameter-parameter analisis operasi motor induksi saat steady state diantaranya yaitu karakteristik arus, rugi-rugi daya, efisiensi, dan torsi motor induksi serta simulasi kecepatan putaran motor. Penelitian ini hanya sebagai studi teori dan pemodelan simulasi menggunakan software PSIM Profesional 9.0.3.400 dengan objek penelitian data tegangan tiga fasa yang tidak seimbang pada pelanggan industri PT. PLN dan motor induksi tiga fasa di laboratorium energi Teknik Elektro, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada motor induksi 0,5 HP ketika terjadi UBUV dengan persentase 1,103% terjadi ketidakseimbangan arus 6,1%, rugi-rugi daya meningkat 6,22%, efisiensi menurun 3,19%, torsi menurun 7,53% dan kecepatan putaran menurun 0,386%. Sedangkan ketika terjadi UBOV dengan persentase 1,026% terjadi ketidakseimbangan arus 5,65%, rugi-rugi daya meningkat 22,82%, efisiensi menurun 2,96%, torsi meningkat 8,01% dan kecepatan putaran meningkat 0,165%.
