Abstract

Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) is one of the initial screening methods for testing cytotoxic compounds. Previous studies have scientifically proven that Averrhoa bilimbi L leaves have antioxidant effects so that the basis of the aim of this study is to determine the toxicity effects of ethanol extracts of starfruit starfruit shrimp (Artemia salina L.) using the BSLT method. Testing was done using several variations of concentration, namely 10 μg / mL, 250 μg / mL, 500 μg / mL, 750 μg / mL, and 1000 μg / mL. Based on observations and analysis of data obtained that the ethanol extract of Averrhoa bilimbi L leaves gives a moderate toxic effect with LC50 value of 367,282 ± 33.81 µg / mL.

Abstract

Teh hitam mengandung theaflavin yang berfungsi  sebagai antioksidan alami untuk menangkal radikal bebas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan formulasi krim body scrub yang stabil secara fisik, ekstrak teh hitam diformulasikan menjadi sediaan krim body scrub dengan menggunakan variasi konsentrasi emulgator span-tween 60. Krim body scrub selanjutnya di uji kestabilan fisiknya meliputi pengamatan organoleptis, pH, volume kriming, viskositas, dan ukuran tetes terdispersi serta inversi fase menggunakan metode penyimpanan dipercepat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak ada perubahan organoleptis, volume kriming, inversi fase, dan tetes terdispersi pada ketiga formula krim. Dari hasil evaluasi ketiga variasi konsentrasi emulgator tween-span 60 1%, 2%, dan 3% diperoleh krim body scrub ekstrak teh hitam yang paling stabil adalah formula 2 dengan konsentrasi  tween-span 60 2%.
