Abstract

XYZ is a company engaged in the processing of palm oil into crude palm oil (CPO). In processing oil palm fruit, the digester machine is one of the machines that crush the loose fruit so that the pulp of the palm fruit can be separated from the nuts / seeds and this will facilitate the pressing process of the oil palm fruit in a screw press. Total productive maintenance (TPM) is a system that is useful in increasing factory productivity and the efficiency of company production by using machines / equipment effectively used to produce a product. The main purpose of implementing TPM is carried out through the overall equipment effectiveness analysis method to identify and types of damage to critical components that are the object of research and to increase the overall equipment effectiveness value as a performance measure of the results of this study. To determine the comparison of the overall equipment effectiveness value, the calculation of the effectiveness value of the digester machine is carried out using the overall equipment effectiveness method. Based on the results of data processing, it can be concluded that the overall equipment effectiveness value of the digester machine is 3.95%, which is obtained from the availability ratio of 41.24%, the performance efficiency ratio of 157.57 and the rate of quality product of 100%.

Abstract

Plastic Fiber Upholstery Is a component that plays an important role for comfort and safety for motorcycle riders, the shape of the seat plastic fiber is also different according to the needs of motorcycles both in terms of type and type. Functions of Plastic Fiber Upholstery seats to support weight and shock absorbers. And here the researcher wants to know the strength of the Plastic Fiber Upholstery using the Tensile test method. Tensile testing is one such test. The method used in this research is a tensile test method using a UTM machine. Material testing machine with a length of 104 mm using ASTM E8. The results of this study have 5 specimens for the first specimen on Fiber Plastic Upholstery has a tensile stress with a value of 33.50 MPa, strain with a value of 0.03. And the modulus of elasticity with a value of 1,176.6 MPa. The second specimen on Plastic Fiber Upholstery had a tensile stress of 30.55 MPa, a strain with a value of 0.02. And the modulus of elasticity with a value of 1.527.5 MPa. The third specimen on Plastic Fiber Upholstery has a tensile stress of 51.60 MPa, a strain of 0.06. And the modulus of elasticity with a value of 860 MPa. The fourth specimen on Plastic Fiber Upholstery has a tensile stress of 19.01 MPa, a strain of 0.02. And the modulus of elasticity with a value of 950.5 MPa. The fifth specimen on Fiber Plastic Upholstery has a tensile stress of 44.81 MPa, a strain of 0.03. And the modulus of elasticity with a value of 1493.6 MPa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mechanical properties of areca nut fiber reinforced composites using static bending testing methods. Areca nut fiber reinforced composites are materials that show potential as an attractive alternative in engineering applications and natural fiber-based materials. Static bending testing methods are used to evaluate the modulus of elasticity, tensile strength, flexural strength, and ductility of composites. At the sample preparation stage, areca nut fibers are well arranged in a resin matrix to form a composite sample. The test is performed by applying a load on the midpoint of the sample gradually until a significant fracture or deformation occurs. During the test, the strain, force, and change in shape of the sample are measured. The test results show that areca nut fiber reinforced composites have significant values of modulus of elasticity, tensile strength, flexural strength, and ductility. Factors such as fiber orientation, fiber-matrix composition, and interactions between fibers and matrices can affect the mechanical characteristics of composites. This research provides a better understanding of the mechanical properties of areca nut fiber reinforced composites, which can be used for the development and application of such materials. The results of this study can also be used as a basis for comparison with other fiber-reinforced composites or other materials used in similar applications.

Abstract

Bomb calorimeter is related to the measurement of the amount of energy of a material. Energy quantities include thermodynamic properties of systems such as enthalpy, internal energy, specific heat or heating value. Designing tools, data acquisition atmega 328p Performing acquisition data testing on bomb calorimeters, Confirming test data on sugarcane bio-ethanol fuel and pertalite sensors used are max6675 with type K thermocouple readings, 5 volt sensor operating voltage with a temperature reading range of 0.25 degrees at speed of 1 millisecond, data from the sensor is transferred to the micro control with the arduino program, the reading received by the micro control is the voltage. This value is converted into numbers with the help of the C++ program and stored in the ms.excel database with PLX DAQ. In this test, the LHV value for pertalite fuel is higher than bio ethanol. A bomb calorimeter device was developed which consists of a micro controller that functions as a measurement tool. The results of the implementation of the micro controller device on the bomb calorimeter can be said to be effective for use in testing fuel ratios. This effectiveness is seen from the test results. In this test, the HNY value on pertalite is higher than the sugarcane bio-ethanol fuel.

Abstract

when aluminum is exposed to free air. This aluminum oxide layer prevents further oxidation. One way of recycling (recycle) is the smelting process. Where adding Silicon Metal to the Aluminum alloy makes these two alloys strong and light Aluminum-Silicon Metal is cast with 3 ratios namely (92% Al: 8% Si, 90% Al: 10% Si, 88% Al: 12% Si) shaft shape. After finishing casting the specimen is turned with ASTM E8 size followed by tensile testing to get the stress value, strain value and elastic modulus value in the material. The addition of Silicon Metal elements in Aluminum, the tensile strength of Aluminum will be even smaller. Crust/dirt is one of one reason for the decrease in tensile strength. This crust/dirt can also cause defects in the casting specimens. The amount of porosity that occurs in casting aluminum alloys does not only depend on the amount of hydrogen gas absorbed by the metal, but also depends on the speed of solidification of the metal in the mould. From the test results, the average stress value for a mixture of Al 92% - Si 8% is 0.378697366 MPa, a mixture of Al 90% - Si 10% is 0.386266797 Mpa, a mixture of Al 88% - Si 12% is 0.14015392 MPa.

Abstract

A warming box is a box that can store food and warm food on delivery services and can keep food warm until it reaches consumers. The system in this food heating box uses the principle of pipe heat to deliver heat coming from motorcycle exhaust gases to the food storage box on the delivery service. In the design of the food warming box, there are several layers in the box, including a layer of stainless stell plate, cocopeat insulator layer, aluminum layer, fiber layer. This food warming box has dimensions of 400 mm× 400 mm× 465 mm, from the design obtained the result of the design of the storage box in the form of the inner surface area of the storage box of 3832.9 〖cm〗^2 at each level. In this food warmer box, a heat exchanger is also used as a heat transfer device and has dimensions of 400 mm× 300 mm×100 mm.

Abstract

In this study, the authors tried to develop clutch lining products made from non-asbestos, because the raw material for coconut fiber in Indonesia is very abundant. Indonesian coconut production averages 15.5 billion eggs/year or equivalent to 3.02 million tonnes of copra, 3.75 million tonnes of water, 0.75 million tonnes of shell charcoal, 1.8 million tonnes of coir fiber and 3.3 million tonnes of methamphetamine dust. Knowing the wear rate of clutch linings using coconut fiber. Knowing the comparison of the quality of clutch linings made from asbestos with clutch linings made from coconut fiber and a mixture of fiberglass fibers. for the type of coupling pads specimen 1 has superior quality compared to standard commercial clutch pads, of the 2 types of clutch pads mixed from coconut fiber, specimen 1 is superior to specimen 2 this is because the friction temperature that occurs is lower compared to commercial clutch pads and clutch pads specimen 2. Clutch lining made of asbestos has a max Temperature value of: 415°C Total final thickness: 3mm Total final weight: 9g, Clutch lining made of coconut fiber fiber (specimen 1) has a max Temperature value of: 331°C Total final thickness: 4, 7mm Total final weight: 10g, Coupling lining made from coconut fiber (specimen 2) has a max. Abstract

A steam power plant or better known as a boiler or steam boiler, the steam boiler itself has the main components, namely the pipe used to circulate water, the pipe itself is made of metal material, the operation of the boiler, the pipe in the boiler combustion chamber experiences a change in temperature which resulted in a deformation that resulted in a change in the mechanical properties of the pipe material. This chapter will explain the steps taken in carrying out several tests with the aim of knowing the hardness of the boiler pipe material. The tests carried out are testing the microstructure, and the hardness value, which will be explained in the flow chart in the sub-chapter below. The hardness decreased, at a load of 1500 kgf. The hardness value decreased not too significantly, from 132.1667 to 91.81667 BHN. That the decrease in hardness is only 0.43% Obtained the standard average hardness value in the boiler with each brinell test, amounting to 132.1667 BHN Obtained the average hardness value which is affected by the temperature of the boiler combustion chamber with each brinell test, amounting to 91.71667 HRB, Based on the value of the hardness test results compared to that after heating experienced a decrease in hardness in the brinell test by 0.43%.
