Abstract

Introduction: Concentration in learning is still often a problem experienced by school children. Factors that affect one of them is breakfast and nutritional status. . Objective: This study aims to find out the relationship of learning concentration with breakfast and nutritional status in elementary school children. Method: The design of this study uses quantitative with Cross Sectional approach. The population of this study was all elementary school children in grades VI and V. Samples in this study used total sampling with a total of 103 respondents. This research instrument uses instruments modified by researchers that have been conducted validity and reliability tests. This study used Chi Square. Result: School children who do breakfast are 62 (60.2%), school children whose normal nutritional status is 88 (85.4%), and school children whose concentration of learning is 60 (58.3%). Statistical test results obtained the value P Value = 0.000 < α (0.05), and the value P Value = 0.441. Conclusion : There is a relationship between breakfast and concentration of learning in elementary school children, and there is no relationship between nutritional status and concentration of learning in elementary school children.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Kejang demam sering dialami oleh anak usia prasekolah. Tatalaksana yang tepat penting dilakukan dalam menangani hal tersebut. Faktor yang mempengaruhi tatalaksana kejang demam adalah pengetahuan dan tingkat kecemasan ibu. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi hubungan pengetahuan dan tingkat kecemasan ibu dengan penatalaksanaan kejang demam anak usia prasekolah. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional dengan variabel independen pengetahuan dan tingkat kecemasan dan variabel dependen penatalaksanaan kejang demam. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu ibu dengan anak prasekolah yang mengalami kejang demam. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling berjumlah 46 responden. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen modifikasi yang sudah dilakukan uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji korelasi chi-square dan spearrman rank. Hasil: Mayoritas pengetahuan ibu kurang (54,4%), mayoritas tingkat kecemasan berat (52,2%), dan mayoritas penatalaksanaan kejang demam kurang (63,0%). Hasil uji korelasi pada pengetahuan dengan penatalaksanaan kejang demam hasil nilai P adalah 0,022. Sementara hasil uji tngkat kecemasan dengan penatalaksanaan kejang demam didapatkan hasil nilai P 0,201. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan pengetahuan ibu dengan penatalaksanaan kejang demam dan tidak terdapat hubungan tingkat kecemasan ibu dengan penatalaksanaan kejang demam. Hal tersebut bisa dijadikan rekomendasi dalam pemberian edukasi kepada ibu yang memiliki anak kejang demam.

Abstract

Introduction: Anxiety is still one of the problems often experienced by preschool-aged children who are hospitalized. One effort that can be done by nurses is to tell stories used a picture book. Objective: This study was to determine the effect of storytelling using picture books on the level of anxiety in preschool-aged children undergoing hospitalizatized. Methods: The study used a quasi-experimental one-group pre-post test design study. The population of this research was preschool children who experience hospitalization. The sample used a purposive sampling technique of 20 respondents. Anxiety research instrument used a standardized questionnaire from the Zung Self Rating Anxiety Scale. Data analysis used marginal homogeneity. Results: This study described the level of anxiety before the intervention was moderate anxiety by 15 respondents (75%) and the level of anxiety after the intervention showed no anxiety as many as 19 respondents (95%). Bivariate analysis showed that the value of p = 0,000. Conclusion: There was an effect of storytelling using picture books on the level of anxiety in pre-school-aged children who have been hospitalized. This can be a recommendation for storytelling using picture books as an alternative to distraction and atraumatic care in reducing anxiety in preschoolers.
