Abstract

Twitter is a social media that is not only effective for communicating but also for presenting a lot of information online. An example of a twitter account that presents this information is @Asumsi ngThis account provides all kinds of information. The theory used in this study is the effectiveness of communication. The purpose of this research is to find out how effective this account is as a medium of information for youth in the Sunggal sub-district village. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research methods. Data collection uses literature, books, field studies, interviews, and observations. The results of the study show that the credibility of the Twitter account @Asumsii can be trusted. In addition, the dissemination of information is fast so that the message does not seem basic and the contents of the messages are also easy to understand. In conclusion, the Twitter account @Asusi in fulfilling information needs has proven to be effective in meeting the information needs of young people in Muliorejo Village, Sunggal District.

Abstract

Public communication policies are generally motivated by the problem of lack of socialization from the Medan Area sub-district in providing direction or education on how to use the SIBISA application or website. As a result, the public has no insight and even almost blind related to the application. The lack of skills, self-awareness and public insight in using the application is what underlies the need for a deeper introduction so that the public better understands the procedures for using a technology product where the product provides population administration services and civil data registration digitally utilizing papaerless office (PLO) technology which can further unite several systematic and synergistic service systems. The method in this study uses Descriptive Qualitative research method. The results of the research conducted are the transition of attitudes and people who increase their knowledge about the SIBISA application to facilitate population management through smartphones. However, regarding the overall change in attitude, Medan Area District still needs time to use the application because the technical capabilities of both service providers and the community have not fully understood the maximum of this application as well as inadequate tools.

Abstract

The phenomenon that occurs in the Jatikesuma Village community provides the background for this research, where parents use persuasive communication activities in the form of persuasion or invitations to their children, but not all parents apply it. This fact encourages the author to propose the forms of persuasive communication used by parents on their children, the obstacles faced by parents in their children, and the results achieved by parents on their children. The author used a qualitative research method by conducting field research and qualitative description, collecting qualitative data, and analyzing the data afterwards. The author collected data using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results of this study are expected to provide an overview of the forms of persuasive communication used by parents on their children in the Jatikesuma Village community. The forms of child behavior in worship in Jatikesuma Village were found to be different in this study. This study identifies the forms of persuasive communication used by parents to their children in the form of persuasion or invitations, namely forcing the child, monitoring, complying with the child's wishes or providing rewards, and giving praise. This study also identifies obstacles faced by parents with their children, namely the lack of willingness from the child themselves, the child only performs worship when given a reward, the child spends too much time playing with their phone, and parents who do not care. The results achieved in this study include the increasing diligence of children in worship, the emergence of trust from parents towards their children, and the increasing willingness of children to read the Quran. The recommendations from this study include urging the village chief and religious figures to encourage the community to teach children to read the Quran and to perform prayers in congregation, urging parents to provide understanding and influence children to get used to and willing to perform worship from an early age, and urging children to perform worship and make the Quran a guide in a better life.

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative study is to analyze the use of social media as a primary source of information by Communication Studies students at Islamic University of North Sumatra. We conducted interviews with these students to obtain relevant data. This study looks at the role of social media in providing information to students and the impact of extensive information on social media on students. Various types of content such as images, videos, and text are on social media and can influence student thinking. However, it is important for students with critical thinking skills to assess and evaluate the accuracy of information they find on social media. While using social media as a first source of information can be very beneficial for students, they also need to be able to select information that is relevant and helpful to them in addressing the challenges and problems they face.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menjabarkan hasil dari suatu strategi komunikasi pemasaran pariwisata di Dinas Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga serta Pariwisata Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Metode pengumpulan data tentunya dilakukan dengan uji tahap reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi data serta ditarik suatu kesimpulan. Adapun uji keabsahan data yang dilakukan adalah dengan metode triangulasi. Narasumber yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini adalah Kepala Bidang Pemasaran Pariwisata dan juga Kepala Bidang Promosi dan Ekonomi Kreatif. Selain itu peneliti juga melakukan observasi pada akun Instagram Dinas Kebudayaan,Pemuda dan Olahraga serta Pariwisata Kabupaten Deli Serdang yang bernama @disbudporapar_deliserdang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Dinas Kebudayaan, Pemuda dan Olahraga serta Pariwisata Kabupaten Deli Serdang dalam proses implementasi program strategi komunikasi pemasaran untuk mengumpulkan informasi, mengidentifikasi promosi, menyiapkan konten serta publikasi dengan memanfaatkan media sosial yaitu Instagram. Strategi komunikasi pemasaran dari Dinas Budporapar terealisasi berjalan dengan baik karena adanya koordinasi antarbidang serta melibatkan media tribun, sosial, dan elektronik ataupun stakeholders.
