Abstract

It is very important for pregnant women to maintain healthy teeth and mouth during pregnancy. It is even expected for expectant mothers before planning a pregnancy, paying attention to the state of their oral health. During pregnancy, acid levels in the mouth increase due to nausea and vomiting which are usually experienced by pregnant women. In addition, pregnant women are also prone to gum inflammation that is compounded by the hormones progesterone and estrogen. Gingivitis in pregnant women increases with gestational age. Handayani's research concluded that all pregnant women in the Manggis II Health Center had gingivitis. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sextans who had gingivitis and gestational age among pregnant women at the Manggis II Health Center in Karangasem Regency in 2019. Cross sectional research method. Using secondary data, with 45 respondents. Spearmen correlation test results sig 0.013. Conclusion: there is a relationship between sextans who have gingivitis and gestational age in pregnant women at Manggis II Health Center in Karangasem Regency in 2019.

Abstract

The degree of health of a person or community is influenced by four factors, namely: environment, behavior, heredity, and health services. The biggest problem faced by the population of Indonesia as well as in other developing countries in the field of dental and oral health is hard tooth tissue disease (caries dentis). The indicator of community dental maintenance behavior in maintaining oral health is the indicator of tooth brushing. Conclusions from the results of research I Gusti Ngurah Agung Darma Yuda on grade Vdi students of SDN 2 Moderate Badung Regency in 2016 that most students behaved wrongly in brushing their teeth and most students suffered dental caries. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of dental caries with tooth brushing behavior in fifth grade students of SDN 2, Badung Regency 2016. The type of cross sectional study used secondary data from I Gusti Ngurah Agung Darma Yuda's research. Spearmen correlation test between dental caries variables with tooth brushing behavior obtained sig values. 0.038. Conclusion there is a relationship between dental caries variables with tooth brushing behavior.

Abstract

Bad breath (halitosis) ia a problem that concern almost everyone. Bad breath is not uncommon to distance the owner of the association in his neighborhood. Halitosis is a term used to describe unpleasant breath odor emitted when breathing (http://wikipedia.org). Halitosis is estimated about 50%-65% of the population (http://indrax.wordpress.com). The main cause of halitosis is bacteria and VSC’s. Ninety percent of patients had halitosis from the mouth causes such as as poor oral hygiene, periodontal disease, a layer on the surface tongue, impacted food, dirty dentures, mouth cancer, and sore throat (The California Breath Clinic).Several method for measuring halitosis, as follows: organoleptic test, chromatogaraphy gas. halimeter, Bana testing, and chemiluminescence (http://www.animated-teeth.com).Prof. Mel Rosenberg. Ph.D  from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Tel Aviv (citet Chudahman Manan), recommends halitosis prevention by: 1)consult to the dentist regularly. 2)clean between teeth  with dental floss, choose a neutral unscented. Check the smell. Clean again if smell. 3)brush your teeth and gums clean regularly. 4)a lot of dringking. 5)sugar free chewing gum for 1-2 minutes, especially if the mouth feels dry. 6)rinse and brush your teeth after eating or drinking milk product, fish, and meat. 7)ask your dentist which mouthwash clinically proven its effectiveness in combating bad breath. Its best to use it just before sleep at night. 8)eat fresh and has fibers vegetables. 9)do not smoke because it heightens the risk of bad breath. 10)if you wear dentures, at night soak dentures in antiseptic solution, unless you forbid dentist.The conclusion is: halitosis or bad breath can develop all the people. The main source of halitosis is in the mouth, that is  the volatile sulphur compounds (VSC’s). This compounds is produced from decomposition of protein by anaerobic bacteria.

Abstract

The behavior of dental nurses in the implementation of the program UKGS in Badung;Dental nurses, as the excecutor in the activities of micro-management in dental health care services, especially business school dental health activities of planning, implementation ( promotive, preventive, curative and referral) monitoring and evaluation.The purpose of this study was to determine the factors analysis of the factors that influence the behavior of dental nurse in the implementation of program UKGS in the city of Badung. Explanatory research is research with cross sectional approach.The result showed that 58,6 % of responden behave good  well on the implementation of the program UKGS. Variables related to the behavior of dental nurses in the implementation of the program is the knowledge of the dental nurses UKGS, the attitude of dental nurses, support the head of clinic, the principal support, support dentist and infrastructure.
