Abstract

Mental Revolution is a priority program of the Indonesian government that aims to produce individuals with good character, an independent mindset, and a national identity that makes them ready to compete in the global era.  It also aims to help them see education as the main path to implementing this mental revolution, particularly in character development. Through a review of the literature, the writer will examine the Mental Revolution from the perspective of Christian education:  its background, its processes, and its objectives.  By comparing and analyzing the Mental Revolution, this study will show the uniqueness of Christian education in realizing transformative education that produces learners as restorative persons, servants, and globalizer in all aspects of life.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Revolusi mental sebagai program prioritas pemerintah Indonesia memiliki tujuan untuk menghasilkan individu dan bangsa yang berkarakter, mandiri dan beridentitas dalam menjadikan bangsa yang siap berkompetisi di era global; dan melihat pendidikan sebagai jalur utama melaksanakan revolusi mental, terutama dalam mengembangkan karakter. Melalui tinjauan literatur, penulisan akan mengkaji revolusi mental dari perspektif pendidikan Kristen; latar belakang, proses, dan tujuan dari revolusi mental. Dengan membandingkan dan menganalisis revolusi mental, diharapkan kajian ini dapat menampilkan keunikan pendidikan Kristen dalam mewujudkan pendidikan yang transformatif untuk menjadikan nara didik sebagai restorater, penatalayan dan globalizer dalam seluruh aspek kehidupan di era global.

Abstract

This paper aims to find correlation between eschatological study and Christian education which seems to have no meeting point. Through literature study, this research intends to recognize the essence of both fields and indicate the correlation. It is that eschatological study, which seems to have future quality, is a study that cannot neglect the present whereas Christian education cannot get away from responsibility in the future. Christian education has dimension of eschatological mission in its responsibility for the present and the future that can be considered as a meeting point. In this dimension of eschatological mission, Christian education has the calling to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ that renews students, and becomes agent that help students identifying themselves as Christ’s disciples so that they can carry out their roles in present life. Particularly, contributing in the Program Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter carried out by government in facing global competition. Abstrak Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menemukan korelasi antara studi eskatologi dan pendidikan Kristen, yang sering terlihat tidak adanya titik temu antara kedua bidang tersebut. Melalui studi literature penelitian ini akan berupaya untuk melihat hakekat dan menunjukan korelasi diantara keduanya, bahwa studi eskatologi yang terkesan bersifat keakanan adalah studi yang tidak dapat mengabaikan masa saat ini, demikian sebaliknya pendidikan Kristen tidak dapat melepaskan diri dari tanggung jawab di masa yang akan datang. Pendidikan Kristen memiliki dimensi misi eskatologis dalam tanggung jawabnya bagi masa kini dan yang akan datang, yang dapat dikatakan sebagai titik temu. Dalam dimensi misi eskatologis ini, pendidikan Kristen memiliki panggilan untuk menyuarakan Injil Yesus Kristus yang dapat memperbaharui nara didik, dan menjadi agen yang menolong naradidik untuk dapat mengidentifikasi diri mereka sebagai murid Kristus, sehingga dapat mewujudkan perannya dalam kehidupan di masa kini. Khususnya, berkontribusi dalam Program Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter yang diusung pemerintah dalam menghadapi kompetisi global.

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss and address the phenomenon of unity and unity in Indonesia. Where there have been many events, parties or groups that have tried to undermine the phenomenal unity of the Indonesian people lately. By exploring the theological biblical foundation it is hoped that it can strengthen the foundations of the principle of Indonesian unity, to find a theological basis and be expected to draw implications and relevance for the church to build its participation in realizing Indonesian unity, for the sake of the continuity of Indonesia which is unity in diversity.

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the principle of ecclesia reformata semper reformanda which is the fruit of the continuation of reform. Through this research literature study will look at the historical background and principles of the slogan, which is expected to be able to find its relevance for the evangelical church in this global era. With an ongoing commitment to renewal in the evangelical church, the evangelical church can again understand its historicity as a doctrinal movement that places the gospel (the Scriptures) as the main foundation for renewal. Recognizing that continuous renewal is a necessity for the evangelical church, will certainly encourage efforts for the evangelical church to maintain purity and vitality, so as to be able to face the present challenges within the framework of the evangelical doctrine as a doctrinal heritage of reform.

Abstract

This paper aims to formulate a form of social political responsibility of Christian educators based on the work of reconciliation that was carried out by the Lord Jesus in his work of death and resurrection. By looking at the socio-political situation of the Indonesian people who are currently vulnerable to splitting with ethnic, religious and racial issues. This identity politics is used as a tool to gain victory in political battles. As Christian educators who are part of citizens and must contribute to the peace and tranquility of the Indonesian nation, Christian educators are indeed important to reflect on reconciliation work that is able to create peace, so that with this foundation the presence of Christian educators can neutralize the social political situation and can even be actively involved in uniting various parties both in the context of class and society.
