Abstract

he purpose of this study is to describe the strategy of improving the quality of prospective teachers. The population of this study are third semester students of Faculty of Education - Universitas Pelita Harapan. A purposive sampling was taken from six study programs inUniversitas Pelita Harapan. The techniques used were questionnaires and written interviews. The qualitative data analyzed descriptively using a descriptive statistical technique. The results of this study illustrate the quality of prospective teachers from the five study programs for the KKG had a good score or 4.23, the KKSG had a good score or 4.11, and the KKMG had a good score or 3.97.Achievement of the quality of prospective teachers is obtained through the strategy used by students during the teaching and learning, such as spiritual activities that support the achievement of the KKG category; lecture activities and campus organization activities that support the achievement of KKSG category; and activities conducted on campus or off campus such as teaching that support the achievement of KKMG category. Achievement of the results of this study is expected to be applied by educational the institutions that educate prospective teachers during this study period, so that it can provide a better impact for the quality of education in Indonesia.Keywords: Teacher educational strategy, quality of prospective teachers, teacher, competences.

Abstract

The challenge of Christian education today is how to implement biblical principles in the context of education properly to distinguish Christian education from other educational concepts. Christian education will have no true meaning without the work of Christ. This principle is important for answering various educational challenges that are incompatible with biblical truth. The role of Christian education is very important in the effort to implement God's truth in a world of creation that longs for freedom from slavery of sin. That's why Christian education must be holistic, rooted, grow, and bear fruit in Christ. This article aims to show that biblical truth must be the foundation of a holistic Christian education. This article uses literature research by examining the biblical concept of Christ's atonement and its implementation in the practice of Christian education. This research was carried out from 2018 until 2019, and concluded that Christ's atonement has very strong implications in the practice of biblical Christian education in realizing God's love for humans and restoring God's creation to His original purpose.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Tantangan pendidikan Kristen dewasa ini adalah bagaimana mengimplementasikan prinsip Alkitab dalam konteks pendidikan dengan benar untuk membedakan pendidikan Kristen dengan konsep pendidikan lainnya. Pendidikan Kristen tidak akan memiliki makna tanpa karya Kristus. Prinsip ini penting untuk menjawab berbagai tantangan pendidikan yang tidak sesuai dengan kebenaran Alkitab. Peran pendidikan Kristen sangat penting dalam upaya mengimplementasikan kehendak Allah dalam dunia ciptaan yang merindukan kemerdekaan dari perbudakan dosa. Itu sebabnya pendidikan Kristen harus holistis, berakar, bertumbuh, dan berbuah di dalam Kristus. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan bahwa kebenaran Alkitab harus menjadi landasan pendidikan Kristen yang holistis. Artikel ini menggunakan riset literatur dengan meneliti konsep Alkitab tentang penebusan Kristus dan implementasinya dalam praktek pendidikan Kristen. Riset ini dilaksanakan pada tahun 2018 hingga 2019, dan menyimpulkan bahwa karya penebusan Kristus memiliki implikasi yang sangat kokoh dalam praktek pendidikan Kristen yang alkitabiah dalam mewujudkan kasih Allah kepada manusia dan memulihkan ciptaan Allah kepada tujuan semula.

Abstract

Christian education plays a very significant role in guiding a person in true knowledge and the work of the Triune God as stated in the Bible. The righteousness of God centered on Christ will underlie all human life as God's glorious creation. God's truth will guide every believer to teach the principle of knowing God through education. This responsibility is very important as Christian education is facing various challenges of the times that are not faithful to the Bible. The learning process carried out only fulfills the cognitive aspect or renewal of character in general and does not touch the source of knowledge, that is, the true God. As a result, students understand learning based on personal ability and experience but do not recognize the main source, namely God himself. This research aims to explore Bible principles as the foundational basis of Christian education. To achieve these objectives, this research uses literary research by examining various educational problems faced by Christians, various phenomena of the learning process that occur through various writings by experts in education and relevant theological fields. Some texts in the Bible will be examined according to the framework of reformed theology and related to the field of Christian education. This research shows that Christian education leads students to know God, experience renewal of life in Christ, and understand that God is the source of knowledge. Therefore, Christian education must be based on God's truth in the Bible.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRAK: Pendidikan Kristen memiliki peran yang sangat signifikan untuk menuntun pengenalan yang benar akan pribadi dan karya Allah Tritunggal sebagaimana dinyatakan di dalam Alkitab. Kebenaran Allah yang berpusat kepada Kristus akan mendasari segala kehidupan manusia sebagai ciptaan Tuhan yang mulia. Kebenaran Allah akan menuntun setiap orang percaya untuk mengajarkan prinsip pengenalan akan Allah melalui pendidikan. Tanggung jawab ini begitu penting mengingat pengembangan pendidikan Kristen menghadapi berbagai tantangan zaman yang tidak setia dengan Alkitab. Proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan hanya memenuhi aspek kognitif atau pembaharuan karakter secara umum dan tidak menyentuh sumber pengetahuan tersebut yaitu Allah sejati. Akibatnya peserta didik memahami pembelajaran berdasarkan kemampuan dan pengalaman pribadi, tetapi tidak mengenali sumber utamanya yaitu Allah sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali prinsip Alkitab sebagai dasar-dasar pendidikan Kristen. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan riset literatur dengan meneliti berbagai permasalahan pendidikan yang dihadapi oleh orang Kristen, dan berbagai fenomena proses pembelajaran yang terjadi melalui berbagai tulisan para ahli bidang pendidikan dan bidang teologi yang relevan. Beberapa teks dalam Alkitab akan dikaji berdasarkan kerangka teologi reformed dan dihubungkan dengan bidang pendidikan Kristen. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan Kristen menuntun siswa mengenal Allah, mengalami pembaharuan hidup di dalam Kristus, dan memahami bahwa ilmu pengetahuan bersumber dari Allah. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan Kristen harus berdasarkan kebenaran Allah dalam Alkitab.

Abstract

The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him throughout his life according to Westminster Shorter Catechism. Glorifying God and enjoying Him means that humans acknowledge the existence of God and apply God's truth in all aspects of their lives according to the Word of God. Enjoying and glorifying God is a privilege given by God to Christians who are created in the image and likeness of God. As a result of the fall of man into sin, and sinful humans cannot know God properly according to the Word of God. The redemption of Christ on the cross reconciles believers with God, and they can relate with God even though they also have to struggle against sin. The method of writing this article uses literature research to examine the issue of the spiritual growth of believers, through various theological literature, both relevant books and journals, and the Bible as the main source. The writing of this article aims to understand the purpose of human life which is to glorify and enjoy God throughout life, and its application in daily life, recognizing the various traps of false spiritual growth. Glorifying God and enjoying Him can only be experienced when believers experience Christ's redemption and grow more Christlike in absolute obedience to Christ.

Abstract

Christian education is Christ-centered and guides students to experience spiritual growth to become more Christ like, relate to God, and understand their responsibilities as believers throughout their lives. This ministry of shepherding has very important role because every believer still struggles with sin, and still has the possibility to sin, failing to obey God's will, even though he has not lost his faith in Christ. Christian teachers can guide students in these process of spiritual growth in thinking, feeling, and action (will). This article aims to provide theological foundation on the spiritual growth of believers in the Christian education community through pastoral ministry carried out by teachers. The writing of this article uses descriptive qualitative methods, by examining various phenomena that occur in the context of Christian schools through various relevant literature. The various data were analyzed based on the principles of the Bible as the main source, and literature on theology and other Christian education as secondary resources. The conclusion of this article proves that ministry of shepherding in Christian schools has very significant impact on the process of students' spiritual growth, especially thinking, feeling, and action, to become more Christ like.

Abstract

Comfort is necessity for every believer in this changing world. Believers are constantly faced with various challenges and struggles in life that are not easy. Since the world keeps changing that require the readiness of believers to react this changing. In addition, believers continue to struggle against sinful desires and lead holy and blameless life to get to know Christ more. The Bible teaches that God is with believers throughout the ages. This paper will show that God who has redeemed believers through Christ's sacrifice on the cross has the power to maintain the life of the believer in all circumstances so that God becomes the source of hope for the believer throughout his life, and God also enables the believer, strength, joy in all situations with an abundance of thanksgiving. The Heidelberg Catechism states that the believer's true comfort is only in Christ.

Abstract

Kebijakan Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar (PSBB) karena adanya pandemi Covid 19 akhirnya dihentikan oleh pemerintah pada awal tahun 2023, masyarakat berkegiatan normal lagi seperti berbelanja di pasar nyata walaupun toko online tetap banyak yang beroperasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini membandingkan perilaku belanja online serta sikap konsumtif mahasiswa Universitas Pelita Harapan FIP Cohort 19 Pendidikan Ekonomi dan PGSD saat dan akhir pandemi Covid 19. Hasil penelitian sebelumnya mahasiswa melakukan belanja online karena harga produk lebih murah, banyak promosi dan lebih praktis. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan menampilkan data-data kuesioner yang diambil dari penelitian sebelumnya, kemudian kuesioner tersebut disebarkan kembali saat ini yang akhirnya akan dibandingkan. Hasilnya memperlihatkan bahwa keadaan tanpa adanya PSBB mahasiswa tetap belanja online sesuai dengan kebutuhan pribadi dengan alasan lebih murah, praktis dan produk lebih lengkap yang artinya toko online ada bukan hanya memenuhi kebutuhan saat pandemi tetapi kemajuan teknologi membuatnya berkembang.  Mahasiswa memanfaatkan teknologi dalam berbelanja bukan mengikuti tren tapi juga mempertimbangkan faktor keuangan dalam berbelanja. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa memahami berbelanja secara bijak bukan karena konsumtif.
