Abstract

The Apron is a lead apron to protect the body from radiation hazards, to reduce exposure to fluoroscopy radiation, and made of lead as a shield. Based on observations, the number of aprons was seven, purchased in 2011 and 2012. The apron was placed on a small table and the wrong apron was found. Seven of the aprons, one of which was on the first apron, were suspected to have been damaged due to the wrong way of storing the apron and the researcher noticed kinks in the suspected apron. This type of research is quantitative, in the Radiology Unit of RSUD. Mohammad Natsir Solok from January 2021. Population 7 apron, sample 7 apron, data processing by measuring using tools available in fluoroscopy, data analysis compared with Lambert and McKeon (2001) theory. The results showed that the leak in the upper one apron was 51.54 mm2, the lower part 38.21 mm2 in the lower two apron 51.43 mm2, the third apron in the middle right front area was 21.12 mm2, in the lower right front area 1.664,87 mm2, at the rear center area 1,435.57 mm2, the top five rear area apron 6.97 mm2, at the rear center area 26.98 mm2 and the top left front six area apron 46.07 mm2. Of the seven aprons studied, there were leaks that exceeded the tolerance limit, namely on the third apron.

Abstract

CT number is the value of the X-ray attenuation coefficient determined by the average energy of X-rays and the absorber atomic number is expressed by the attenuation coefficient. The role of the CT number on a CT scan machine to assess and differentiate abnormalities in human organs. Compliance tests are carried out to ensure that the CT-Scan aircraft meets radiation safety requirements and provides precise and accurate diagnostic information. This research is a quantitative research with an experimental approach, carried out at the Radiology Installation of RSU Bunda Padang in June 2022 for 5 days. The population of all CT number tests, samples at five measurement points with ROI in the center of the image, at 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock directions. Research data was taken by observing, experimenting and documenting. Data analysis was compared with PERKA BAPETEN Number 9 of 2011 concerning quality assurance of QA and QC of CT Scan aircraft. The results showed that the CT number value in the middle of the image on the first day was 4.83 HU, the second was 4.83 HU, the third was 4.14 HU, the fourth was 5.15 HU and the fifth was 5.16 HU while the average standard deviation on the first day was 3, 48 HU, the second day 3.42 HU, the third day 3.41 HU, the fourth day 3.43 HU and the fifth day 3.50 HU, the ROI uniformity results at the image and noise center show that it has exceeded the tolerance limits set by PERKA BAPETEN No. 9 of 2011.

Abstract

A lead apron is a lead apron designed to protect the body from radiation hazards. The lead apron test is carried out once a year to ensure that it can provide optimal protection when in use, it is necessary to test personal protective equipment. Based on observations, the storage and placement of tin aprons is not in accordance with the rules so that it can reduce its function as personal protective equipment. This study aims to determine whether there is a leak in the lead apron, and to find out whether the lead apron is still suitable for use as personal protective equipment (PPE). This type of quantitative research with experimental methods at the Radiology Installation of RST Dr. Reksodiwiryo Padang on March 31, 2022. The sample in this study was 2 lead aprons, each lead apron is divided into four quadrants, namely the upper right side, upper left side, lower right side and lower left side. Each quadrant was tested with a tube voltage of 70 Kv and a current of 16 mAs. Then made observations and compared with the theory of Lambert and Mc Keon. The results of the study found that there was a leak in the Apron A quadrant 3 with an area of 0.75 mm2 and quadrant 4 with an area of 0.67 mm2. On Apron B there is a leak in quadrant 4 with an area of 0.06 mm2. From the results of the study of lead apron leaks in quadrant 3 and quadrant 4, the quadrant area is a critical area which according to Lambert's theory should not exceed 15 mm2 so that the lead apron under study is still suitable for use as personal protective equipment (PPE).
