Abstract

Farming with drip irrigation systems on sloping dry land is very rarely found at the field level, so that many dry lands are rarely used by the community. To be able to support the application of drip irrigation on sloping land, it is necessary to test the effect of slope variations on the flow characteristics of the drip irrigation system. This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the slope of the transmission pipe, which describes the slope of the land, on the Reynolds number (Re) and the pipe friction coefficient (f) generated in the drip irrigation network. The test drip irrigation network was made of 4 PVC pipes with a distance of 80 cm between the pipes, the drip hole distance of 60 cm and a diameter of 0.5 mm. The test variations are the slope of the transmission pipe 10 °, 20 °, 30 °, 40 ° and the water depth above the outlet tower h1 = 20cm, h2 = 30cm and h3 = 40cm with various head heights. Research using a water source from a tower with a capacity of ± 200 liters with a height of 3.3 m, a transmission line of PVC pipe Ø1 / 2 inches long 3.35 m.The results showed that the Re value will be greater from drip pipe 1 to drip pipe 4. The range of Re values from 1 to pipe 4 is 195 to 992 which is classified as laminar. The amount of friction coefficient f obtained decreases from drip pipe 1 to drip pipe 4, with a value of 0.327 to 0.064.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of a three-storey drip irrigation system to horticultural crops of chilies, kale and eggplant as one of the household food supporting crop commodities. In addition to increasing the potential for irrigation and boosting the economy from agricultural products on this limited land, it is necessary to know this, so that it can be used as material for consideration in maintaining family food security. Irrigation test activities were also carried out on irrigation uniformity, irrigation distribution and irrigation depth at various irrigation times. Tests were carried out on variations of soil and compost as planting media with the ratios of: 70%: 30%, 50%: 50%, 30%: 70% and four variations in tank water volume. The drip application network uses ½” PVC pipe and dripe on the third floor, while for the first and second levels the Netafim (NTF) pipe is 12 mm. The secondary irrigation network uses ¾ inch, 1 ½ inch and ½ inch PVC in an irrigation test chamber measuring 1.5 m x 4 m and a height of 1 m between levels. The results of the analysis of the test data showed that the uniformity of PVC drip irrigation and NTF combined obtained an average of above 95%, with a very even distribution of water. Irrigation depth obtained at all variations of the water tank level, that is, at 70% of the soil ranges from 3cm -20 cm, at 50% of the soil ranges from 4cm - 20cm and at 30% the amount of infiltration ranges from 2.5 cm - 18.5 cm. Multilevel drip irrigation can support the provision of family food in meeting the needs of kitchen ingredients such as chilies and vegetables to support family food security

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of 12 mm Netafim (NTF) pipe and ” pvc on a multilevel drip irrigation network, on the ability of irrigation uniformity and irrigation distribution on polybag land. The test was carried out on variations in tower water heights of 220 cm, 120 cm and 30 cm on the lateral drip pipe, data analysis was carried out on irrigation uniformity (CU), and the distribution of irrigation water volume at each network level. The research was conducted on a land area of 1.5 m x 4 m x 2 m, the distance between the irrigation level is 1 m and the tower height is 2.5 m. Based on the results of the analysis, irrigation uniformity was obtained about 95%, with a difference in irrigation volume between levels of about 2 ml – 3 ml in the combination of PVC and NTF, whereas if the drip pipe with NTF alone there was a difference in volume of about 20 ml. With the use of PVC with dripers on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and the use of NTF pipes on the 1st floor, it can improve the shortcomings of the multilevel irrigation system

Abstract

Perforation irrigation is a unidirectional beam irrigation system that can be used for crop irrigation on dry land, due to the efficient use of water and the ability to wet land with a limited area. Therefore, the perforation irrigation system needs to be studied further in relation to the area of land that can be irrigated and the distribution of discharge to each perforated pipe. By testing several variations of the water level, the perforation irrigation emission capability will be obtained in the form of irrigation distribution, uniformity, emission capability and discharge amount used in irrigation on flat land. This study aims to determine the perforation irrigation capacity on flat land, the distribution of irrigation and the amount of discharge required. The test was carried out on three perforated pipes made of ½” PVC as lateral pipes, three transmission pipe length variations, such as 0.8m, 1m, and 1.2m with a distance between the perforations of 60 cm. The source of irrigation water comes from a 3 m tall tower with a capacity of ± 200 ????????????????????. The test uses three variations of head height, namely h1 350 cm, h2 360 cm, h3 370 cm and h4 380 cm. The results showed that the perforation irrigation jet length was around 100cm -120 cm, the uniformity of CU irrigation was above 97% with a total discharge on h1 QT = 0.689 lt/s, h2 QT = 0.690 lt/s , h3 QT = 0.695 lt/s and on h4 QT = 0.701 lt/s. While the range of flow rates for perforation 1 pipe Q1 (0.42 lt/s – 0.429 lt/s), perforation 2, Q2 (0.13 -0.145 lt/s) and perforation 3, Q3 (0.129 - 0.135 lt/s)

Abstract

In the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, farming on a large area of land requires a lot of human interaction so it is not safe for all the people involved, as is the case with the residents of BTN Pengsong Indah. Farming with polybag land media with a drip irrigation system is expected to help the community in the environment, so that people can still do farming at home to help food security during pandemic times. This study aims to determine the distribution of drip irrigation, discharge, uniformity and distribution patterns at each land level. The research area is 1.5 m x 3 m x 2 m and the distance between the levels is 1 m, the water source has a capacity of 150 liters, the height is 3.3 m and the drip pipe is 12mm NTF pipe. The data analyzed were irrigation volume, uniformity and discharge associated with irrigation patterns.The results showed that the drip irrigation system was able to provide discharge on the 1st floor (Q1) = 304.4 ml/min, 2nd floor (Q2) = 230.8 ml/min and 3rd floor (Q3) = 147.2 ml/min. The planting point discharge on the 1st floor (q1) ranges from 12.47ml/min -12.89 ml/min, on the q2 floor it is around 9.5 ml/min-9.73 ml/min and the q3 floor is 6.13 ml/min . The uniformity of drip irrigation for each level above 95% is very high. The irrigation distribution is where the higher the level of the irrigation system, the lower the irrigation capacity of the system with a deviation of about 2.5 ml/min -3.5 ml/min

Abstract

Rusaknya daerah aliran sungai (DAS), sering kali ditunjukkan oleh adanya penurunan sumber air di sungai, aliran air sungai keruh di musim hujan dan hilangnya sumber-sumber air permukaan. Pemanfaatan DAS hulu untuk pertanian dapat menjadi penyebab terjadinya kerusakan resapan DAS tersebut. Perbaikan kondisi sumber air di DAS dengan peningkatan resapan air hujan perlu dilakukan pada petak lahan, agar limpasan hujan selesai diresapkan di petak lahan. Untuk itu uji embung lahan sebagai media peresapan limpasan hujan dipetak lahan perlu dilakukan agar limpasan tidak terbuang ke sungai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji embung lahan (EL) di petak lahan terasering dan pengaruhnya terhadap variasi intensitas hujan, luas lahan dan kemiringan terhadap potensi limpasan yang terjadi. Uji dilakukan dengan media uji lahan terasering berukuran A1= 150 cm x 100 cm, A2=150 cm x 80 cm, A3=150cm x 60 cm dan A4= 150 cm x 40 cm dengan kadar air 20%, pada intensitas hujan yang uji I1= 64,38 mm/jam, I2=30,69mm/jam dan I3=12,35 mm/jam. Pengujian dilakukan selama 1-2 jam sampai limpasan dipetak lahan terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa,limpasan hujan akan semakin besar terjadi pada intensitas hujan yang semakin besar dan pada kemiringan terasering yang semakin besar. Pada intensitas I2 dan I1, limpasan hujan terjadi dan pada intensitas I3, limpasan belum terjadi sigifikan. Selain itu pada luas terasering yang semakin besar, limpasan yang dihasilkan juga semakin besar. Dengan ukuran panjang dan lebar EL yang diperlukan masing-masing lahan 1/10 dari panjang lahan dan 1/20 dari lebar lahan. Jumlah EL terpasang dilahan disesuaikan dengan potensi limpasan yang akan ditampung.

Abstract

Soil moisture is the most important part of irrigation activities, because it is the result achieved by providing irrigation on a particular land. Likewise, with the application of drip irrigation, soil moisture is also the purpose of irrigation in the planting medium. In multilevel drip irrigation sistems, the potential for soil moisture produced by the irrigation sistem is very important to pay attention to, because the size of the moisture that can be provided will affect the scheduling of the drip irrigation provided. And therefore the ability of an irrigation sistem to provide optimum soil moisture in a particular medium deserves attention, before the sistem is applied to farming activities. For this reason, this test aims to determine the ability to provide soil moisture in a drip irrigation sistem that uses a 4 liter/hour emitter in a 4-tiered drip irrigation network, a polybag planting medium and an irrigation duration of 5 minutes to 20 minutes. The test data analyzed is irrigation and soil moisture distribution data, then the results of the analysis are presented in tabular form and discussed and conclusions are drawn. The test results show that the distribution of drip irrigation water occurs evenly with the optimal application of 41% moisture, and with the application of additional soil moisture of around 6% -7% for an irrigation duration of 20 minutes. The daily decrease in soil moisture that occurred during the three days of testing was found to be around 2% as a result of evaporation

Abstract

Test efforts to find alternatives to increase the even distribution of irrigation water on service land. The results of previous research conducted by researchers show that drip irrigation which is designed in stages with a water source from a drip irrigation tank using two types of emitters in a multi-stage drip irrigation system provides different irrigation water distribution results, so it is necessary to find a solution. so that irrigation can occur evenly. To get an alternative that might be tested is to use several types of emitters in the PVC pipe drip point holes, because these tools already exist on the market. This research aims to determine the effect of using two types of emitters, namely 2 lt/min and 4 lt/min emitters on distribution of irrigation water in a 4-tiered drip irrigation network. The test data analyzed includes irrigation distribution data, flow discharge data and irrigation uniformity (Cu), and the results of the analysis are presented in the form of tables and graphs and discussed before conclusions are drawn. The analysis results show that the average Cu for the two types of emitters is above 97%, which is very good and the two emitters have a very even distribution. The difference in distribution volume for each emitter, for a 2ml/min emitter is around 1ml -2 ml and for a 4 ml/min emitter it is 1ml -2 ml, with an irrigation network flow rate of around 84ml/min – 99.7 ml/min.
