Abstract

The services of Telkomsel celullar have not evenly spread throughout the entire region of Lembata Regency. Furthermore the quality of the coverage area of the service that has not maximized results in frequent failed calls or disconnected communications. This research aims to determine location of signal ditribution and quality in each Telkomsel BTS in order to improve and expand the quality of service. This measurement used the drive test method with the G-Net Track application to measure receive signal level (Rxlev). The drive test based on four directions of each BTS with 3 km distance in each direction. The result then analyzed and mapped with Google Earth. The result is not absolute because the antenna sensitivity of the receiver signal varies based on the type of handphone. The result of 800 measurement points for RxLev in Lembata county region show that 327 points or 40.875% is very good category, 170 points or 21.25% is good category, 147 point or 18.375% is medium category, 110 point or 13.75% is bad category, and 46 point or 5.75% is very bad category. It is only ± 36,98% of the total area of Lembata Regency has coverage by Telkomsel services.

Abstract

Global of System for Mobile Communication (GSM) is a cellular communications technology having the character of digital. Technology GSM many applied at peripatetic communications, especially handphone. This technology exploits microwave and delivery of signal divided based on time, so that information signal sent will come up with purpose. GSM is made by global standard for cellular communications at the same time as cellular technology which at most applied people in the worldIn this study will make a simulation of dual-band GSM 900 and GSM 1800, system 1 traffic will overflow to system 2 if the server system 1 is busy. Traffic on the system 2 will be blocked if the server system 2 is busy. Simulations are made with varying number of server, number of events, average arrival rate, and service rate to see its effect on blocking dual band system. The simulation results show that increasing the number of servers (N) and the service rate (μ) will lower the value of blocking. While increasing the number of events (LE) and the average arrival rate (λ) will increase the value of blocking.

Abstract

Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+) merupakan anak perusahaan PT PLN (Persero), bergerak di bidang penyelenggara jaringan dan jasa telekomunikasi dengan tujuan mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan infrastruktur jaringan kelistrikkan untuk telekomunikasi, yang akhirnya berkembang menjadi penyedia layanan utama jaringan telekomunikasi dengan tingkat availability dan reliability yang konsisten bagi PT PLN maupun masyarakat. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan di wilayah Liliba. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengukuran menggunakan simulator OptiSystem dan perhitungan menggunakan Metode Power Link Budget unttuk mendapatkan hasil evaluasi pengukuran dan perhitungan sudah layak sesuai dengan standard pemasangan jaringan baru. Hasil penelitian pada tiga ODC/FDT dan masing-masing ODC diukur pada lima ODP/FAT menunjukkan bahwa jaringan serat optik wilayah ini dengan kategori baik dan sesuai dengan standard. Kata Kunci: Serat Optik, OptiSystem dan Power Link Budget.
