Abstract

The technology development affects people activites especially in this 20th century. Mobile phone ischanged into smartphone and travelling becomes a new lifestlye. A Tourism scheduler with a reminder is created from this research to fulfill the new trend of people lifestyle. The travelling data is stored in the system and some information such as the point of interest of an area, hotel, and transportation to reach the area are provided. Waterfall model becomes the method to build this system. Hence, an application that can create a trip for the user is completely built in Blackberry application system, consist of the trip information. The history feature provided in this application can be an advantange for the user to choose the new travelling destination. Moreover, the application has a good interface follow the eight golden rules and has a good performance that helps the tourists/users to create their own schedule and set the reminder for them.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study the application of redundancy principles by Richard Mayer on learning material used in class presentation. The principles are applied during the learning material development, using PowerPoint as the learning medium. The result of this study showes that the application of redundancy principle on learning material development provides positive result in helping students’understanding during teacher’s presentation.

Abstract

CD katalog developed is an effort to improve service quality and effectiveness of delivering information to visitors Persahabatan Hospital. The method used is the method of literature, methods of analysis and design methods. Methods Literatur include the study of literature references relating to problems and applications. Methods include analysis of field studies with a survey on the current system as well as an analysis of surveys, interviews, and questionnaire distribution. The design method includes designing the menu structure, State Transition diagrams, screen design, database use, and module specifications. The results obtained in the form of multimedia CD-based catalog that presents the completeness of the information, such as facilities Persahabatan Hospital, clinic, the site plan, and schedule a doctor. The conclusion was based on a multimedia CD Catalog can be a new alternative as a medium to facilitate the search for location information and profile hospital. With the CD catalog is expected to visitors and prospective participants can find information about the Friendship Hospital, more easily, and help the Friendship Hospital in providing information to visitors Hospitals.

Abstract

The design of e-Board was undertaken to meet the necessary of information between colleagues that nowadays has become more essential and vital especially in a team work that applying distributed asynchronous co-operative work system. In which, members of the team are distributed in time and space; therefore information should be well distributed to support the cooperative work between them. The research was applying analysis and design methodology. The analysis methodology was undertaken through literature study, current system observation, questionnaire survey to users to identify characteristics of the current and entailed information distribution media. The design methodology was undertaken through database, features, system, and screen layout design. Results of the research found that the information distribution media for team work which has applied distributed asynchronous co-operative work system should have the ability of private access for each member, better organization in information categorizing, structured information for task assignment, and supporting member's mobility. In conclusion, the application has been expected to help task assignment, distribution and organization of information in the distributed asynchronous co-operative work system to be easier and simpler.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a CAI application as a learning support and media to introduce the valuable cultures of Indonesia. The CAI is objected to children or people using computer. The research applied the Interactive Multimedia System Design & Development (IMSDD) method, which consists of system requirement, design consideration, implementation, and evaluation. The result of this research is a CAI application about Indonesian culture based on multimedia that fulfills the user’s need on CAI application. CAI is expected to grow users’ interest about Indonesian culture, improve children’s memory capability, and help create the learning process more interesting and fun.

Abstract

Sometimes we find difficulties in obtaining the necessary information as limited to place and time, as well as the media used. One example is limitations in obtaining the necessary information about facilities available at the nearby of Binus University campus. Based on this case, we propose information media providing facilities around Binus University campus that can be accessed anytime and anywhere using mobile web technology guided by Google maps. The features of Google maps can also help users locate the facility. The methodology used in this research is analysis and design. Results that can be obtained from this research is a mobile-web application that provides complete information about the environment around BINUS campus that can be accessed by students and the surrounding community. Using this application, BINUS students can obtain the necessary information about the campus environment easily and quickly.

Abstract

Topography is the science about the earth's surface and other objects such as planets, satellites, and asteroids. Topography is studied at school and is found quite difficult to understand because it requires imagination to understand the meaning of contour maps as well as the lines. To motivate students in learning topography,we design an learning application of interactive topographic map with 3D features using Augmented reality technology. In this research we implement analysis and design method. The result achieved is a learning topographic map application based on augmented reality. The conclusion that can be drawn is the teaching and learning of topography can be more interesting with 3D features so that students can more easily recognize the meaning of contour lines in a topographic map.

Abstract

The internet and digital world is one thing that needs to be taken into account by the Company. Business through Internet, known as e-business, is another way to increase the relation between company and customers or prospective customers. Analysis from the view point of customers and the integration of technologies was conducted on 2 examples sites that well known in doing online business but have different history on how it started the e-commerce. They are Amazon and Aquarelle. By comparing the two sites, the characteristics of e-commerce sites could be studied. As a result, there are striking differences between these two sites, where Amazon is more oriented to sales, while Aquarelle more on customer-oriented impact to the design and implementation of their e-business.

Abstract

Rapid development of Information Technology causes information can access easier without space boundaries. Image is a form of information, which contains many information. Some image contains confidential information that cannot distribute to unauthorized persons. Therefore, image encryption application is create to encrypt part of image that has confidential information. The image encryption application is encrypt image by applying DES, Triple DES, and IDEA algorithms. The research was applying analysis and design methodology. The analysis methodology was undertaken through literature study and algorithm research and testing. The design methodology was undertaken through database, features, system, and screen layout design. Results of the research are image encryption application that can encrypt part of image and or all of image by applying three algorithms such as DES, Triple DES, and IDEA. This application is show comparation of these algorithms. In conclusion, method of encryption can apply to image, so that confidential information of the image can protect from unauthorized person.
