Abstract

The spread of terrorism and radicalism is carried out in new ways through digital technology media such as the internet. One of the most used virtual social relations spaces in the world is social media. Based on data, until 2020, active social media users in the world reach 3.5 billion people, while in Indonesia, it reaches 132 million people. This research is focused on exploring the counter-narrative of terrorism and radicalism carried out by the West Java Regional Peaceful World Maya Ambassador through the @dutadamaijabar Instagram account. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach through framing analysis. The Gamson and Modigliani models were selected to describe the media packaging kits produced by @dutadamaijabar. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation techniques, and literature study. The results of the study concluded that the counter-narrative orientation of terrorism and radicalism @dutadamaijabar includes two forms, namely online and offline. The content production process involves three main areas, namely the blogger team, DKV, and IT. The core frame is built on three main issues, namely the nationalism-oriented narrative, a narrative of peace based on religious moderation, and a humanitarian narrative by reinforcing tolerance. Meanwhile, condensing symbols are formed by linking text, video, audio, images, and other forms by the counter-narrative core framing. Framing of media content is carried out by following the framework of framing devices and reasoning devices. Research has implications for the process of mapping and producing social media content in the context of counter-narrative terrorism and radicalism in cyberspace. Penyebaran paham terorisme dan radikalisme dilakukan dengan cara baru melalui medium teknologi digital seperti internet. Salah satu ruang relasi sosial virtual yang paling banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat di dunia adalah media sosial. Berdasarkan data, sampai tahun 2020 pengguna aktif media sosial di dunia mencapai angka 3,5 milyar orang, sementara di Indonesia mencapai 132 juta orang. Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk menggali kontra narasi terorisme dan radikalisme yang dilakukan oleh Duta Damai Dunia Maya Regional Jawa Barat melalui akun Instagram @dutadamaijabar. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis framing. Model Gamson dan Modigliani dipilih untuk menguraikan perangkat-perangkat pengemasan media yang diproduksi oleh @dutadamaijabar. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, teknik dokumentasi dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa orientasi kontra narasi terorisme dan radikalisme @dutadamaijabar meliputi dua bentuk yakni secara online dan ofline. Proses produksi konten melibatkan tiga bidang utama yakni tim bloger, DKV dan IT. Core frame dibangun dalam tiga isu utama, yakni narasi kebangsaan yang berorientasi nasionalisme; narasi perdamaian yang berlandaskan moderasi beragama; dan narasi kemanusiaan dengan memperkuat sikap toleran. Sementara itu, condensing symbol dibentuk dengan mempertautkan teks, video, audio, image, dan bentuk lainnya yang sesuai dengan core framing kontra narasi. Pembingkaian konten media ini dilakukan dengan mengikuti kerangka framing devices dan reasoning devices. Penelitian berimplikasi dalam proses pemetaan dan produksi konten media sosial dalam rangka kontra narasi terorisme dan radikalisme di dunia maya.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to explore the values of the peace negotiations contained in the Medina charter as part of the management of the missionary Rasulullah Saw. Negotiations are an alternative method of Islamic da'wah carried out by paying attention and considering various socio-cultural-political conditions. One of the peace talks that was carried out by Rasulullah Saw who was laden with the values of Islamic da'wah was the Medina Charter. This research uses a qualitative approach that is carried out through the content analysis method. The study was conducted by searching the literature to collect data related to the research topic. The results showed that the peace negotiations in the history of Islamic da'wah were carried out by Rasulullah Saw as a form of missionary management with an orientation to reach an agreement and embody social cohesiveness. The Medina Charter as a peace treaty contains various values that can be applied in social life including 1) the value of tolerance as a social glue; 2) the value of humanity as a foundation; 3) the value of God (transcendence) as the foundation of life; and 4) the value of liberation as a manifestation of creation. These four values have a strong significance in the context of contemporary da'wah, especially in dealing with the potential for conflict in society.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the construction of preachers in a television broadcast. The study was conducted to answer the question of how identity construction preachers and how preachers selection criteria in propaganda programs on television. The study was conducted with a qualitative approach and methods of Critical Discourse Analysis Teun Van Dijk Models. There are three element of Critical Discourse Analysis Methods : Text, Social Cognition and Social Context. Data collection techniques used in this study is the observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the commodification of propaganda on the program "Islam itu indah" made on the preacher and maudhu side. On the side of, the election preacher / resource is determined by considering certain criteria which include unification (distinguishing characteristics), tradability (popularity and publicity), skills and abilities to speak, as well as the scientific qualifications. Representation preachers on this program conducted with respect to rating and share, performance and target audience.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi daí sebagai tenaga kerja dalam program televisi bertajuk “Islam Itu Indah”. Penelitian diarahkan untuk menggali aspek komodifikasi yang berkaitan dengan kriteria pemilihan dai’dan konstruksi daí dalam program televisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis wacana kritis (Critical Discourse Analysis) model Teun Van Dijk. Terdapat tiga elemen dalam Analisis Wacana Kritis Teun Van Dijk, yaitu teks, kognisi sosial dan konteks sosial. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komodifikasi dakwah pada program “Islam Itu Indah” dilakukan pada sisi da’i dan maudhu. Pada sisi da’i, pemiihan da’i/narasumber ditentukan dengan mempertimbangkan kriteria tertentu yang meliputi unifikasi (karakter pembeda), daya jual (popularitas dan publisitas), keterampilan dan kecakapan berbicara, serta kualifikasi keilmuan. Representasi da’i pada program ini dilakukan dengan memperhatikan rating and share, performa dan sasaran audiens.

Abstract

Di era globalisasi, kemunculan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi seperti internet membuka peluang baru untuk pengembangan dan proses penyebaran pesan-pesan dakwah. Internet dipandang sebagai ruang virtual yang mampu menyebarkan pesan dakwah secara efektif, mudah diakses, cakupan wilayah yang luas dan waktu yang tidak terbatas. Hal ini memunculkan wacana cyberdakwah, yakni sebuah aktifitas amar ma’ruf nahi munkar dengan menggunakan media internet. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis literatur yang didapatkan baik dari buku, jurnal dan sumber lainnya yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fenomena cyberdakwah secara teoritik dipandang sebagai metode kontemporer dalam penyebaran pesan dakwah. Secara praktik, penggunaan media internet sebagai media baru dalam dakwah Islam membuka peluang untuk menyebarluaskan pesan-pesan dakwah secara masif dan signifikan. Dampak penelitian diharapkan mampu menjawab berbagai tantangan atas beberapa permasalahan cyberdakwah di Indonesia.In the era of globalization, the emergence of information and communication technologies such as the internet opens new opportunities for the development and dissemination of propaganda messages. The internet is seen as a virtual space that can spread the message of preaching effectively, easily accessible, wide area coverage and unlimited time. This raises the discourse of cyberdakwah, which is an activity of the amar ma'ruf nahi munkar which uses internet media. This study uses a qualitative approach through the analysis of literature obtained both from books, journals, and other relevant sources. The results showed that the phenomenon of cyber-dakwah theoretically was seen as a contemporary method in spreading the message of da'wah. In practice, the use of internet media as new media in Islamic da'wah opens opportunities to disseminate da'wah messages massively and significantly. The impact of the research is expected to be able to answer various challenges over several issues of cyber propagation in Indonesia.Kata Kunci: Cyberdakwah, Internet, Media Baru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berupaya menganalisis perilaku komunikasi, proses dan pengaruh komunikasi yang berlangsung di komunitas Majelis Remaja dan Pelajar Islam (MERAPI) Pangalengan di Kabupaten Bandung. Analisis dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan perspektif psikologi komunikasi berkaitan dengan aktivitas dakwah berbasis komunitas di pedesaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunitas MERAPI merumuskan formulasi dakwah komunitas secara inovatif dan kreatif. Proses komunikasi berlangsung dalam konteks komunikasi kelompok kecil, kelompok besar, organisasi dan massa. Proses komunikasi ini berlangsung baik secara tatap muka maupun bermedia. Proses komunikasi mempengaruhi perilaku komunikasi. Pengaruh perilaku komunikasi dalam bentuk konformitas, fasilitasi sosial dan polarisasi. Ketiga perubahan perilaku komunikasi ini terjadi pada aspek pengetahuan, keyakinan, ritual, pengalaman dan komitmen. ABSTRACT This study seeks to analyze the communication behavior, process, and influence of communication taking place in the Pangalengan Community of Youth and Student Council (MERAPI) in Bandung Regency. The analysis was carried out using a communication psychology perspective related to community-based da'wah activities in rural areas based on qualitative methode. The results showed that the MERAPI community formulated an innovative and creative community da'wah formulation. The communication process takes place in small groups, large groups, organizations, and mass communication. This communication process takes place both face-to-face and media. The communication process affects communication behavior—the influence of communication behavior in conformity, social facilitation, and polarization. The three changes in communication behavior occur in knowledge, belief, ritual, experience, and commitment.

Abstract

Purpose - This study aims to analyze the construction of tabligh language based on religious moderation in social media. The research was conducted by taking the research object of Popular Islamic accounts on three social media platforms, namely Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Specifically, the research is directed at studying expressive, conventional, rhetorical logic, and religious moderation tabligh language negotiations for the millennial generation. An interpretive paradigm was chosen in this study.Method - Qualitative approach through the Gamson and Modigliani model framing analysis method was chosen to analyze the packaging pattern of the tabligh language. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Furthermore, it is analyzed through three stages: reduction, display, and verification.Result  -  The study results conclude that the expressive logic of the tabligh language contained in the Popular Islam account is related to the normativity and actuality of Islamic teachings. The conventional logic set by the Popular Islam account is based on normative arguments, actual arguments, opinions of Islamic leaders, metaphors or parables, and phenomena that are trending in society. Rhetorical logic is carried out by using language style, communication principles, appeals and message organizational structures, and visualizing messages in a way that links symbols, images, and text. The negotiation of religious moderation discourse is packaged by showing the face of Islam on two sides, namely the doctrinal side and the actual side. Popular Islam places historical, empirical, and actual religious reality as the core issue of Islamic ideas. Moderate and accurate packaging tools are presented both within the framework of framing and reasoning of Popular Islamic accounts.Implication – The implications of this research relate to the importance of building theological, technological, and humanist awareness in preparing the infrastructure and ecosystem of da'wah resources to face the era of digital industrialization.Originality - This study analyzes the phenomenon of how the choice of diction and tabligh language style regarding religious messages based on religious moderation is presented in a virtual space.***Tujuan - Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi bahasa tabligh berdasarkan moderasi beragama di media sosial. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengambil objek penelitian akun Islami Populer di tiga platform media sosial yaitu Facebook, YouTube, dan Instagram. Secara spesifik, penelitian diarahkan untuk mengkaji negosiasi bahasa tabligh ekspresif, konvensional, logika retoris, dan moderasi agama bagi generasi milenial. Paradigma interpretif dipilih dalam penelitian ini.Metode - Pendekatan kualitatif melalui metode analisis framing model Gamson dan Modigliani dipilih untuk menganalisis pola pengemasan bahasa tabligh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Selanjutnya dianalisis melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi, display, dan verifikasi.Hasil - Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa logika ekspresif bahasa tabligh yang terdapat dalam akun Islam Populer berkaitan dengan normativitas dan aktualitas ajaran Islam. Logika konvensional yang ditetapkan oleh akun Islam Populer didasarkan pada argumen normatif, argumen aktual, pendapat para pemimpin Islam, metafora atau perumpamaan, dan fenomena yang sedang tren di masyarakat. Logika retoris dilakukan dengan menggunakan gaya bahasa, prinsip komunikasi, daya tarik dan struktur organisasi pesan, dan memvisualisasikan pesan dengan cara menghubungkan simbol, gambar, dan teks. Negosiasi wacana moderasi keagamaan dikemas dengan menampilkan wajah Islam dalam dua sisi, yaitu sisi doktrinal dan sisi aktual. Islam kerakyatan menempatkan realitas keagamaan historis, empiris, dan aktual sebagai isu inti gagasan-gagasan Islam. Alat pengemasan yang moderat dan akurat disajikan baik dalam kerangka pembingkaian dan penalaran akun Islami Populer.Implikasi – Implikasi penelitian ini berkaitan dengan pentingnya membangun kesadaran teologis, teknologis, dan humanis dalam mempersiapkan infrastruktur dan ekosistem sumber daya dakwah untuk menghadapi era industrialisasi digital.Orisinalitas - Penelitian ini menganalisis fenomena bagaimana pilihan diksi dan gaya bahasa tabligh tentang pesan-pesan keagamaan berbasis moderasi keagamaan dihadirkan dalam ruang virtual.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze transcendental communication in TQN religious rituals at Pesantren Suryalaya Tasikmalaya. The research was conducted with a constructivist paradigm and a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through observations, interviews, documentations, and literature study. The results of the study concluded that the source of transcendental communication messages came from theological (Al-Quran), prophetic (Al-Hadith), and authority (TQN principles, Tanbih manuscripts, and strands of pearl) messages that acted as wills, advices, and teachings from Abah Anom. By using the Lasswell communication model, it was found that the main communicators in this transcendental communication process were sheiks, murshids, and talqin guardians. The communication messages were the TQN principles, the Tanbih scriptures, and the Pearl Strand. The medium of communication were the uqudul juuman and distinctive practice based on the teachings of TQN. The communicants were TQN students, TQN congregations, students of educational institutions, and the general public. The feedback was in the form of practices which aimed at tazkiyatu an-nafs, taqarrub, mardhatillah, mahabbah, and makrifat

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk implementasi dakwah digital yang dilakukan oleh organisasi Duta Dama Dunia Maya (D3M) BNPT RI Regional Jawa Barat melalui Pelatihan Konten Kreatif Desa Damai. Kegiatan ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman literasi digital sebagai modal dalam menguatkan narasi positif di ruang virtual. Secara Spesifik penelitian diarahkan untuk menggali tingkat literasi digital, pemetaan keterampilan konseptual dan operasional dalam mengakses, mendesain, memproduksi, dan membagikan konten positif di ruang virtual. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengamati berbagai peristiwa yang terjadi selama pelatihan dilakukan. Lokasi penelitian berada di Desa Margamukti Kecamatan Pangalengan Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mendeskripsikan proses pelatihan konten kreatif yang dilakukan sejak Maret sampai dengan Desember 2021. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa implementasi dakwah digital dapat dilakukan dengan terlebih dahulu meningkatkan literasi digital pengguna internet. Literasi digital menjadi modal dalam mengembangkan potensi digitalisasi dakwah Islam. Hal ini sebagai upaya untuk menguatkan narasi kebaikan (al-khoir) melalui aktivitas amar maruf nahi munkar di ruang virtual. Duta Damai Dunia Maya Jawa Barat mengimplementasikan aktivitas dakwah digital melalui pelatihan konten kreatif desa damai sebagai upaya menguatkan knowledge, ability, dan attitude pengguna baik pada level personal, antarpersonal, komunal, maupun sosial.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the management of Islamic boarding schools in implementing digital da'wah literacy based on religious moderation and gender relations. The research explores digital competence in formulating digital da'wah formulations in educational institutions and da'wah Islamic boarding schools. The research was conducted in several West Java Islamic boarding schools, which have modern characteristics, have digital da'wah activities, and are affiliated with leading Islamic community organizations such as NU, Muhammadiyah, and Islamic Unity. The research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Research data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that the process of developing digital competence in Islamic boarding schools based on moderation and gender relations is carried out through habituation, improvisation, and innovation of the fundamental values of justice, equality, connectedness, relation, tolerance, moderation, wisdom, harmony, and inclusiveness as the foundation for strengthening digital competence.  This is done through three stages. First, the stage of cultivating the students' values, knowledge, and skills is carried out through strengthening digital competence. Second, are the stages of fostering and assisting students in digital technology (digital usage). Third, the stages of controlling and supervising students in transforming digital technology (digital transformation) in a positive, innovative, emancipatory, and participatory manner.

Abstract

Background: This study examines the content of Leonardo’s YouTube channel titled “Journey of Religion: Habib Ja’far,” which focuses on presenting Islamic perspectives on diversity in Indonesia. The Islamic message is effectively conveyed through innovative means. Purpose: The objective of this study was to conduct an analysis of the messages pertaining to religious moderation as given by Habib Ja’far in the video. Methods: The study employed a qualitative methodology to conduct the research. The data were gathered through the application of Pierre Levy’s media theory, utilizing observation and analysis of literature and documentation. Results: The findings of this study indicate that social communication pertaining to religious tolerance is characterized by the integration of individuals through the utilization of new media platforms, such as the internet. Additionally, it was observed that Habib Ja’far’s delivery of religious messages is easily comprehensible. Furthermore, the central themes of his da’wah revolve around the concepts of the heart and love. Lastly, the contents of his da’wah can be categorized into distinct groups. Conclusion: The cultivation of religious tolerance can be facilitated by genuine and uncomplicated social encounters, bolstered by the utilization of contemporary communication platforms. Implications: The findings of this study suggest that the concept of religious moderation can be effectively communicated to younger generations through virtual platforms.
