Abstract

This article shows that revelation is a barometer of the truth of science, as can be concluded from Noeng Muhadjir's thoughts. Any scientific product cannot be accepted if it is in apparent contradiction with the qat'i nash. This article is classified as qualitative research that uses a library research model. The primary data source is the works of Noeng Muhadjir, especially the article entitled, "Epistemology of Islamic Education The Theoretical-Philosophical Approach", contained in the book Reformulation of Islamic Education Philosophy, and "Education in Perspective The Koran: A Micro Review”, contained in the book Education in the Perspective of the Koran. Other works are used as support. The method used in this paper is discourse analysis. The conclusion that can be drawn from the discussion results is that Noeng Muhajir takes the basis as an epistemological basis for Islamic education on the philosophy of metaphysical realism (popper) and phenomenology (ponty) as postulates of anthology and axiology. Noeng Muhadjir's ideas were driven by the spirit of bringing together science and revelation while maintaining the scientific characteristics of science and the absolute truth of revelation.

Abstract

Both students and lecturers experience e-learning adoption and use hype, and it has replaced the conventional learning method due to the covid-19 outbreak.  However, it is limited known how the e-learning adoption rate is changed and improved during the covid-19 outbreak. This study conducted a monthly longitudinal survey from late March to late June 2020 to find out the e-learning adoption and use hype rate.   We randomly distributed 130 questionnaires to students and teaching staff within four faculties at State Islamic University (UIN) of Datokarama Palu.  Our study found that during the early covid-19 outbreak, e-learning was reluctantly adopted by both students and lecturers due to a lack of familiarity and technological skills. However, after the third round survey, we found that the hype of e-learning use reached its peak for both students and lectures.   In the final round survey, the lecturers' hype to adopt and use e-learning was increased to a plateau of productivity where mainstream adoption starts to take off, and e-learning has been used for more teaching productivity purposes. However, the economy's perception was becoming more challenging to students due to the higher cost of Internet connection, while institutions did not fully provide free Internet access. We also found that there is a perception of the students that e-learning is less meaningful compared to face-to-face learning mechanisms. The limitation of this study is that the study was conducted only in one Islamic higher education institution and the covid-19 outbreak is still ongoing. Therefore, further studies might be required to study more samples and more extended periods to produce more valid results.

This research elaborates readers’ independency to choose the reading material and its effectiveness towards reading comprehension. It highlights the correlation of students’ independency in deciding the reading material they are going to read and how it correlates with the reading comprehension. Reading is considered as one of the language skills with easier access to be developed, both in numbers and quality of the sources. The research is quasi-experimental research with 21 participants from reading class students in English Education Program of State Islamic University Datokarama Palu. During the six weeks meeting the students are divided into two groups: experimental group and control group. Treatment was given by giving students numbers of reading materials and let them choose and read freely. The data were then analysed quantitatively using independent sample t-test. The result of the test shows that the significant value is 0.309 or classified as no significance between the readers’ freedom to choose the reading material with their reading comprehension.

Abstract

This article examines the Indonesian Government's policy on the implementation of Religious Education at Public Higher Education. The research is conducted through a socio-cultural-historical approach using content analysis methods to relevant texts, both in book form and related documents. The results show that the policy of Islamic Religious Education in public universities is influenced by the assumption and response of policy maker, in this case the government (Old Order, New Order and Reform Order), to the socio-political and cultural reality that developed in society, this is in accordance with K. Young's theory. The policy is part of the government's effort to control the implementation of Islamic Religious Education in public universities, as described in Roger Dale's theory, through regulation, bureaucratic system, the implementation of obligations and political reproduction in the Indonesian context.

Abstract

Abstract

Curriculum 2013 (K13) is one form of innovation in the field of education initiated by the Indonesian government. It is necessary to explore adopters' perceptions of this innovative product as a top-down innovation model. The adoption of an innovative product is strongly influenced by, among others, the adopter's perspective on the product's relative advantage, compatibility, and complexity. This study examines the influence of these three factors on the decisions of teachers (adopters) in adopting or implementing K13 in their learning practices. This problem is studied using a mixed-method, quantitative method as the primary approach and supported by a qualitative approach. The regression analysis test results show a combined effect of the relative advantage, compatibility, and complexity factors on implementing K13 with a correlation of 18.2%. Still, partially there is no influence between the factors of advantage and complexity on the implementation of K13. This shows that the adoption of K13 innovation is more widely accepted as a necessity, not because of a positive perception of K13 itself. Their lack of knowledge of K13 influences the adopter's perception of K13 at the concept and implementation techniques level. The results of this study recommend the need for intensive training for teachers in optimizing the implementation of K13 as expected.
