Abstract

Alumni or graduates are the key of university's accountability. Alumni who are well accepted in the working place, whether they are entrepreneurial or working with other people, are able to become the basis of the institution existence to get a trust. User survey is a must for university because it is a compulsive point that must be completed in preparing accreditation forms for both universities and departments. The use of information technology media is expected to increase its maximum results at score 4. This study aims to determine the use of information technology in implementing user survey at Universitas Muria Kudus. The results obtained are quite good. The use of information technology in the user survey has been carried out in almost every stage of the activity. These stages were collecting data from the alumni website and then identifying the departments. The next was blasting information on tracer study activities and procedures to alumni via email and WhatsApp group of alumni in each department. After the alumni had filled out the questionnaire through career center (PKPA) website, respondents’ data were classified based on the name of the workplace, alumni, and departments. After that, alumni assessment questionnaire was sent via post to alumni users, which was attached with the names of the alumni. It was then confirmed via WhatsApp and or email to HRD or Contact Person at the alumni workplace two weeks after sending. The number of workplace (companies/agencies/schools) which responded was quite good. There were 83 workplaces responded back the assessment by post or email. The result of user survey is inecessary as an input for institutions in escalating the quality of graduates.

Abstract

Garbage is a consequence of human activities. Along with the increasing population and current economic growth, waste management in the community creates uncontrolable problems. Based on this, one of the Community Service Program teams at Universitas Muria Kudus established a partnership with the Tanjung Seto Youth Organization in Bae village to help manage waste in the area. The main and urgent problem from partners that needs to be resolved is the operational activities of the waste bank. These problems include the socialization of waste bank activities, technical transactions, and circulation of waste bank savings money so that it is more efficient, effective, and practical and more citizens participate. The objective of this program is to assist the operational activities of the waste bank by using an android-based application named SAWOB M-Banking to support the process and mechanism of the Waste Bank activities. The method used to implement the solution is mentoring and knowledge transfer. Identifying needs will be accomplished through data collection on waste bank schedules, the number of waste bank clients, waste categories and price values, and customer savings data. Furthermore, processing the obtained data then making the SAWOB M-Banking application. The SAWOB M-Banking application has been socialized to customers gradually and tested for 10 customers in waste bank activities. After being simulated, the SAWOB M-Banking application has been used for all waste bank customers in Bae village.

Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the relationship between affective aspects (emotional intelligence) and the speaking skill of students in the English Education study program, as well as the relationship between fifteen elements in the affective aspect (emotional intelligence) and the speaking skill of students in the English Education study program. Sources of data from this study were 120 students from the English Language Education study program at Muria Kudus University. They filled out a Bar-on (1997) Emotional Intelligence questionnaire which was used as an instrument and an online interview whose results were analyzed using Cambridge English Assessing Speaking Performance – Level C1. The results of the analysis using the correlation method show that there is a positive relationship between the affective aspects of students' emotional intelligence from the English Education study program and their speaking skill. Furthermore, this study found that there was a significant positive relationship of the fifteen elements in the affective aspect of emotional intelligence with students' speaking ability. In addition, the results of this analysis indicate that the affective aspect can significantly predict students' speaking ability using the Cambridge speaking ability assessment sheet.
