Abstract

The study was used to measure the effectiveness of the UPPKA program in Kebumen Regency. Effectiveness refers to the assessment of a program by comparing the results of the program realization and the planned results previously determined. Research on the effectiveness of the UPPKA program in Kebumen Regency aims to obtain an overview of: 1) respondent characteristics, 2) program targeting accuracy, 3) program socialization, 4) program objectives, and 5) program monitoring. The study used descriptive quantitative methods. The study population was 246 people including all active UPPKA group leaders in Kebumen Regency. The sample is determined by random sampling technique. The number of samples obtained is 71 respondents, which is measured using the Slovin formula. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and documentation studies. The measurement technique used is the Guttman scale. The validity test of the measuring instrument was tested with visible validity (face validity), reliability test using the Cronbach Alpha method. Furthermore, the results of the study were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the UPPKA program in Kebumen Regency was very effective with a program effectiveness ratio of 85.7%. The accuracy of program targets is 86.4%, program socialization is 87%, program objectives are 89.9%, and program monitoring is 78.7%. The causes for the less than optimal effectiveness were the inaccuracy of the implementation of program socialization, program monitoring, and program evaluation, the development of the UPPKA group was not optimal, and the respondents' low awareness and understanding of the business bookkeeping of the UPPKA group. In connection with these problems, the authors propose the program "Optimization of the UPPKA Group through "UPPKA Bangkit" in Kebumen Regency". The existence of this program is expected to improve all aspects of the effectiveness of the UPPKA program.

Abstract

The research aims to describe more about the adjustment by the parents of children with cancer to the child’s treatment process at Rumah Cinta Anak Kanker Bandung Foundation wich includes the characteristic of informants, absence of excessive emotionally, absence of psychological mechanism, absence of the sense of personal frustration, rational deliberation and self-directon, ability to learn and utilization of past experiences, and realistic, objective attitude. The research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The informants is determined by using purposive sampling to five informants consisting of the parents of children with cancer as main care giver, two the parents of children with cancer as companion of main care giver, and Coordinator of the parents of children with cancer at Rumah Cinta Anak Kanker Foundation. Data collection uses an indepth interview, observation, and documentation study. The result shows that the adjustment by the parents of children with cancer has been done well, but there are difficulties to control excessive emotions and have dificulty being realistic and objective. The parents of children with cancer have excessive anxiety about the child’s health condition while accompanying the child’s treatment process. Based on this problems, the reseacrchers proposes a program to reduce anxiety about child’s health condition of the parents through nourishment therapy and reality therapy.

Abstract

Market segmentation is an attempt to classify market groups from heterogeneous markets into homogeneous market parts. The research aimed to obtain an in-depth description of: 1) Profile of PRSE Micro Enterprises 2) Market segmentation of PRSE micro enterprises in Kota Kulon Village, South Sumedang Sub-district, Sumedang Regency, 3) Steps in market segmentation. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with primary and secondary data sources. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that PRSE micro-entrepreneurs in Kota Kulon Village sort markets based on demographic, geographic and behavioral segments. Demographic segment variables were selected based on gender and school age. The behavioral segment variable was selected based on the incident where the goods being sold were food to meet the needs of people who wanted to be practical by buying food for breakfast early in the morning, and selling pastries only just before Idul Fitri. The variable chosen is in the geographical segment, this business provides goods only for the area around the shop. The steps taken in determining market segmentation are to collect information from consumers who come when shopping so that this business can study the characteristics of each segment which has an impact on increasing sales of its goods so that the basic needs of PRSE are met
