Abstract

AbstractThis article examines job vacancy advertisement (adv) in Padang Ekspres daily newspaper.The purpose of the study is to describe the structure of job vacancy ad and the language usein job vacancy adv as a discourse. To examine the job vacancy adv, it is used descriptivequalitative method. The result shows that the structure of adv is devided ino three parts,those are opening, content, dan closing. The laguage usage of job vacancy adv obtained thatsentence used with passive-inversion and active-inversion formation and three kinds ofshorteningof words used, such as abbrevation, acronyms, and fragments. In conclusion, thestructure of job vacancy adv in Padang Ekspres has three parts dan the language used in theform of passive dan active invernsion sentence formation with three kinds shortening words:abbrevation, acronym, and fragment. AbstrakArtikel ini mengkaji iklan baris lowongan pekerjaan di harian Padang Ekspres. Tujuan kajian iniadalah untuk menjelaskan struktur iklan baris dan pemakaian bahasa iklan baris lowongan pekerjaansebagai sebuah wacana. Untuk mengkaji iklan tersebut digunakan metode deskriptif qualitatif denganpiranti analisis wacana. Hasil kajian menunjukkan terdapat tiga bagian struktur iklan baris, yaitubagian awal, isi, dan penutup. Pemakaian bahasa pada iklan tersebut mengandung formasi kalimatinversi-pasif dan inversi-aktif dan terdapat tiga jenis pemendekan kata yang digunakan, sepertisingkatan, akronim, dan fragment. Simpulannya adalah bahwa iklan baris lowongan pekerjaan sebagaiwacana memiliki struktur; bagian awal, isi, dan penutup dengan tiga jenis pemendekan, yaitu singkatan,akronim, dan pemenggalan.Kata kunci: Iklan baris, lowongan pekerjaan, wacana

Abstract

This article discusses and describes the use of the Indonesian language on nonprescription medicine package through descriptive study. The nonprescriptive medicine package waschoosen because the costumers are abe to get this medicine easily without doctor’s prescription. The source of data were taken from the written message on medicine package then analysis focused on the used of sentence based on Hasan’s opinion. The result of the study found that there were two forms of sentence used to inform the the costumers about the use of medicine. The forms of the sentence were declarative and imperative. The imperative sentences mostly used were forbidden about 40 sentenses, request is 24 sentences, and command is about 8 sentences.

Abstract

This study is aimed to discuss euphemism in Minangkabau speech spoken by Sungayang people that recently has begun to reduce, especially among young generation. The methodused is descriptive qualitative with deep interview (triangulation) to some informen (recording) dan fieldnote technique. Then, the data were analyzed by matching, distributing reference, interpreting, and ortography-method. The result shows there are three forms of euphemism: mistic, taboo, dan social. The mistic euphemisme is inyiak, dubili, and pauni. Then, taboo euphemism is kaduik, susu, indak sumbahyang, baintaian, and buntiang. Social euphemisme is makanlah (tuak), gadih, dukuang, licin, buruak, duto, iku, lah dak ulu, and ndak banuni. In conclusion, there are three forms of euphemisme found, they are mistic, taboo, and social euphemisme in Minangkabau speech by Sungayang people.
