Abstract

The train is currently trusted by the people of Indonesia as a cheap and safe means of transportation. One fromthat must be met by a train is a reliable braking system. Generally the train brake block material is used graycast iron brake block. One of materials based composite as a substitute for train brake block are the Al-SiC (Aluminium SilicaCarbida). The Al-SiC composite material has hard and soft properties. Aluminium (Al) as a matrix and SiC asreinforcement. Metal material composite used for the reseach is Al-SiC composite with composition of SiC 15%,10%, and 15% made through a process of stir casting. The specimens were tested tensile strength and impacttests. The test of results : tensile test for cast iron = 188.56 MPa; aluminium = 131.97 MPa; Al-SiC 5% =127.17 MPa, 10% = 136.41 MPa dan 15% = 107.26 MPa. The result of the energy absorbed of impact test arecast iron = 2.17 Joule; aluminium = 8.67 Joule; Al-SiC 5% = 4.00 Joule, 10% = 4.67 Joule and 15% = 2.83Joule.From the result of test, so replacement of cast iron brake material block is composite brake material block witha composition 10% of AL-SiC.

Abstract

Sutomo, Murni, Senen, Rahmat, Electrolyzer is development of a electrolysis technology to produce HHO gas, or Brown’s gas. Diesel engine use solar (diesel oil) as combustion’s material to produce thermal energy and oxidation and will be changed to mechanic energy. The base product of thermal energy by oxidation diesel oil, is would like to use electrolyzer to produce HHO and insert to the fuel combustion. Because HHO is a reactive gas, so in our research we hopeful will increase the thermal energy in combustion process and decrease the diesel oil consumption. The result of this research is the BSFC (Brake Shat Fuel Consumption) will decrease 2.5% up to 3.2%.   Key word: electrolyzer, diesel engine, BSFC

Abstract

Abstract Tea is a nalural healty, beverage because of catechin content which is a bioactive matter that can retard cancel growth, heart desease, blood and nerves, making healthy for mouth, teeth and some other infection. Therefore, high catechin in tea would be needed. To Obtain high catechin contend it must eliminate enzymatically oxidation process of polyphenol during tea manufacturing. Thus, it was created a process and processing system which sustain the process. The basic design was inactivation of polyphenol oxidase enzyme by steaming. It wishes a high catechin green tea product that can either be directly as a beverage or as a catechin powder for dietary food and functional food or medicine. The variables of this study, were percentage of steam, tea leaves feeding and humidity. The investigated parameters were temperature, catechin content, moisture content, and humidity as time function. The result was that at 900C yielded high catechin. The study shows that at 70%  humidity  yielded higher catechin and lower moisture content.   Keywords : Green tea; Steaming
