Abstract

Keberadaan bangunan Villa Nova saat ini sudah memprihatinkan dan jauh dari sebuah tempat sejarah, bentuk bangunan yang sudah rusak karena kebakaran dan area lahan yang sudah disorientasi fungsi dari yang seharusnya dikatakan sebagai cagar budaya adalah hal persoalan mendasar tetapi sangat vital apabila tidak diselesaikan. Melalui dua pendekatan desain dan sejarah, penelitian ini akan kembali merekonstruksi sejarah di balik keberadaan bangunan Villa Nova untuk menganalisis cerita, bentuk, fungsi dan kepentingan di zamannya. Keberadaan bangunan yang tidak mampu lagi dihadirkan dan diperbaiki kembali secara fisik, menjadi hal yang patut diangkat dan dihadirkan kembali dalam bentuk media informasi yang menarik dalam bentuk desain infografik rekonstruksi sejarah gedung Villa Nova Jakarta.

Abstract

Transitional forms of commodities in the international market from the beginning of spice to the sugarcane (sugar), tea, rubber and others responded by the colonial Dutch East Indies with a test and cultivation of plant species of the commodity. Sugarcane is one of the plants which are priorities for the Dutch East Indies colonial government to be managed and produki (although the number is still minimum scale), this attempt to force the colonial government to involve other communities, especially Tioghoa who have skills in managing sugarcane crop. Not only felt the sweet result of the production of sugar cane (sugar) but the journey also gives a lot of negative consequences such as criminal tendency and resistance to the colonial government conducted by the Chinese. This paper tries to explain how the effort to membangu industrialization of the sugar cane plant culminate in a social movement, then the direction of its development would benefit the colonial government. Through this article also hoped we can learn how the logical consequence of industrialization itself, and preparing for its development direction in order not to evolve towards a state that is destructive.Keyword :Sugar Factory, Batavia

Abstract

The development of community wich living in maritime, with socio-economic activity can not be separated from the existence of local potential, it is manifested from the ability to organizing the existence of communities along coast of Makassar. It will be more visible when the coastal communities to respond the local and international shipping network. Besides the dynamic economic activities along the coast of South Sulawesi is inseparable from the existence of social structures, and becoming basic building of socio-economic activities, further the socio-structures become a key to driving ann moving the maritime history, especially in around the coast of South Sulawesi.
