Abstract

Kulit pisang mengandung komponen aktif yang dapat dijadikan bahan baku pengembangan produk berpotensi antioksidan, selain itu dapat mengatasi pencemaran limbah kulit pisang. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan uji efektivitas beberapa jenis pelarut polar dan non polar dalam mengidentifikasi metabolit sekunder pada simplisia kulit pisang .Dengan tujuan menjadi landasan bagi penelitian lainnya dalam proses ekstraksi kulit pisang, sehingga akan didapatkan kandungan senyawa aktif dalam jumlah maksimal jika pelarut yang digunakan dapat menarik komponen aktif dengan optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan empat jenis pelarut yakni etanol, metanol, etanol dicampur aseton, dan n-heksan. Kemudian keefektifan nya dilihat dari kemampuannya dalam mengidentifikasi metabolit sekunder pada simplisia kulit pisang. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan ketiga jenis pelarut yakni, metanol, etanol dan campuran etanol dan aseton dapat mengidentifikasi metabolit sekunder kulit pisang , namun pelarut n-heksan tidak dapat mengidentifikasi metabolit sekunder kulit pisang. Kemudian dari ketiga pelarut tersebut yang mempunyai efektivitas paling besar adalah metanol. Metanol dapat mengidentifikasi empat jenis metabolit sekunder yakni flavonoid, fenolik, tanin dan saponin dengan lebih cepat dan menunjukan perubahan warna yang lebih signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil ini dapat dikatakan bahwa simplisia kulit pisang berpotensi antioksidan karena positif mengandung beberapa metabolit sekunder dan untuk mendapatkan ekstrak yang maksimal dapat digunakan metanol sebagai pelarut untuk proses ekstraksi

Abstract

SOCIALIZATION AND EDUCATION ON THE UTILIZATION OF BANANA SKIN WASTE AS ANTIOXIDANT-RICH NATURAL FACE MASKS IN MARPOYAN DAMAI DISTRICT, PEKANBARU. The fact at this time is the increasing level of consumer consumption of beauty products. It does not only occur among adult women but also teenager. But the consumptive level not accompanied by purchasing power of quality products. Based on interviews with residents of the village of East Sidomulyo, most of the citizens are among adult women and teenagers that they mostly use ready-made masks that are sold in the market because it is more practical and faster in the process of use without considering the possibility of its contents which are harmful to skin health. The problem of the partners is to encourage service in the form of socialization and education to the local community to be able to take advantage of the banana peel waste that is widely available in the environment because it is now became popular a variety of processed banana products, but in terms of waste has not been utilized at all. This education is based on several studies that banana peels contain high antioxidants so it is very good if it can be processed as a mask for a facial skin care. In addition, the utilization of waste will be able to reduce pollution that might occur in the environment due to banana peels that are not treated. The existence of this activity was very welcomed by residents, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of residents asking questions regarding the problems presented and the impression of some residents who want this activity to be carried out continuously, so that more people feel the benefits and they are very enthusiastic to directly apply the knowledge.

Abstract

The activities of the community aims to support the efforts to conservation efforts the nibung plant as a flora mascot in Riau province in SMAN 1 Bengkalis Regency. This activity is carried out to provide information to the community and increase public awareness in the effort to conserve nibung plants in the future, especially for students at SMAN 1 Bengkalis Regency, Riau. The activity was carried out with the dissemination and education of the nibung plants as the flora mascot of Riau Province. The implementation of actions in this activity is by providing material about the description of the nibung plant. Based on the activities that have been carried out, it is found that students in SMAN 1 Bengkalis Regency generally know nibung plants and often find and use them in their daily lives. However, most students do not yet know that the Nibung plant (Oncosperma tigillarium) is the mascot of Riau Province. During the implementation of community service activities, the students were very enthusiastic and actively participated in the activity while participating in the activity, and stated that that activity was very effective in increasing students' understanding of the Riau flora mascot and its conservation efforts.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Long-term consumption of nuggets can lead to: increasing heart attacks, increasing body weight, triggering diabetes and triggering high blood pressure. That is because in processed food manufacturers usually add preservatives, excessive MSG and imbalanced nutrition. Because there are still many people, especially mothers in partner neighborhoods in Perhentian Marpoyan, who often complain that their children do not like to consume vegetables, and many make processed nuggets as manufacturers for their children, in this service we provide a presentation on how to process Nugget. Gambas are rich in antioxidants, so they are very good for consumption especially for the growth process of children. The existence of this community service was very welcomed by the local residents, this can be seen from the enthusiasm of residents asking questions related to the problems presented regarding the processing of nuggets as well as from the impression of some residents who want this kind of activity to be carried out continuously so that more people feel the benefits and they will try to apply the knowledge from the education that has been carried out. Keywords: fast food, nuggets, gambas, antioxidants ABSTRAK Konsumsi nugget dalam jangka panjang dapat menyebabkan: meningkatkan serangan jantung, meningkatkan berat badan, memicu diabetes dan memicu tekanan darah tinggi. Hal itu dikarenakan didalam makanan olahan pabrikan biasanya ditambahkan pengawet, MSG yang berlebihan dan nutrisi yang tidak seimbang. Dikarenakan masih banyaknya masyarakat terutama Ibu-Ibu di lingkungan mitra di kelurahan Perhentian Marpoyan yang sering mengeluhkan anak-anaknya tidak suka mengkonsumsi sayuran, serta banyak yang menjadikan nugget olahan pabrikan sebagai bekal anak-anak mereka, pada pengabdian ini kami memberikan pemaparan bagaimana dapat mengolah  Nugget Gambas yang kaya Antioksidan, sehingga sangat baik dikonsumsi terutama untuk proses pertumbuhan anak-anak. Adanya kegiatan pengabdian  ini sangat disambut baik oleh warga setempat, hal ini dapat dilihat dari antusiasnya warga mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan sehubungan masalah yang dipaparkan mengenai pengolahan nugget serta dari kesan beberapa warga yang ingin kegiatan sejenis ini terus dilakukan secara berkesinambungan sehingga lebih banyak lagi yang merasakan manfaatnya dan mereka akan mencoba  mengaplikasikan pengetahuan dari edukasi yang telah dilaksanakan. Kata Kunci: makanan cepat saji, nugget, gambas, antioksidan
