Abstract

Increased community mobility has an impact on increasing demand for packaged beverage products. Data from Aspadin (the association of bottled water companies) there are more than 1500 brands of bottled water (AMDK) in Indonesia and it is estimated that trade will continue to increase every year. However, the profit margins of bottled drinking water products are not classified as high, so producers must do efficiency. One form of efficiency that can be done is to reduce the waste of packaging production, where most bottled water is made of plastic. This study aims to identify several product defects that often occur during the production process of bottled water based on PET. The process of making plastic-based drinking water packaging is divided into 3 stages. First is to make a bottle preform, the second is the blow molding process, which is the process of making a whole package from a preform, and the third is the process of making a lid. The machines used in these stages are different and in each of the stages successfully classified types of product defects. During the preform manufacturing stage, black specks or contaminants, short shots, bubbles, and flash are found. At the stage of making the whole bottle includes, off center base, failed blowing, arising bracelet, rough parting line. The last defect in the process of making the cap includes excess material flash Short shot, bridge or ring break, leak centergate.

Abstract

Optimization is an effort to maximize activities so that they are realized desired or desired advantage. Optimization in form Raw material planning can be defined as an activity which coordinated to achieve certain goals within a certain period of time. Raw material planning has an effect on operating costs, so that errors in inventory will reduce profits. Company Inventory problem, too much supply or even a shortage. Both of these conditions resulted in the emergence of this situation substantial costs. Therefore, it is necessary to plan the raw material inventory with the MRP method to analyze the optimal inventory level. The purpose of planning and planning is to plan and controlling the flow of material into, inside, and out of the factory thus the position of optimal profit which is an attainable goal. Material requirements planning is carried out using the MRP method whose application begins with forecasting the number demand / production for the future. By seeing material requirements planning, then inventory planning is carried out by using the Horizontal Planning method. From the results of Horizontal Planning produce optimal inventory planning. Keywords: optimization, planning, MRP method.

Abstract

In-depth observations have been made on the web printing process for newspaper production. Observations were made to identify problems related to the tension of the roll paper used in the production of newspapers. The problem of roll-paper tension is observed from the main material, the upstream process (Reelstand Unit), the printing process and its supporting units such as the wetting unit, inking unit and in the folder unit which is a contineous process. From observing the problems in the printing process, the causes and solutions to the problems were identified which were then used as an operating standard reference for the newspaper production using a web offset printing machine. Keywords—web offset printing machine, newspaper, paper tension
