Abstract

Tourism Aspect is one of the important things for to increase country’s economic. One of the potential tourism object is Ngarai Koto Barangai, located in Kelurahan Bukit Apit Puhuh, Bukittinggi City. This research aim is to identify factors in the development of tourism object in desa wisata bukit apit puhun. Also to know the development strategy which needs to develop ngarai koto barangai to be a potential tourism object in desa wisata kelurahan bukit apit Bukittinggi City. The analysis tools used in this research is SWOT analysis .The formulation of development strategies in Ngarai Koto Barangai are important to be noted from the various aspects such as tourists, transportation means, tourism object, infrastructures and supporting facilities within the tourism object, as well as need to be supported with funds and qualified human resources. Suggestions in this research is important to increase society and government awareness to develop Ngarai Koto Barangai to be a tourism destination in kelurahan bukit apit puhun, which still lacking the cooperation with various related parties; the synergy between the Government with the academics in the provision of competent human resources in the field of tourism' also improvement the utilization of information technology to introduce and to promote potential tourism to the worldwide community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of marketing implementation in increasing room occupancy rates as well as to determine the application of online marketing in increasing room occupancy rates. Methods of data collection in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The sampling technique was in the form of purposive sampling, namely as many as 3 respondents. The analysis technique used is the IFAS (Internal Factors Analysis Summary) Matrix, the EFAS (External Factors Analysis Summary) Matrix, the IE (Internal-External) Matrix, the SWOT Matrix, and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study show that there are several internal and external factors that influence the implementation of online marketing run by Rumah Gadang Homestay. Based on the results of the IFAS matrix analysis, there are 5 indicators that are strengths with 3 indicators that are still weaknesses in the Rumah Gadang homestay. The calculation of the EFAS matrix shows the results of indicators that become opportunities as many as 5 with 3 indicators that can become threats. The results of the IE matrix research put the company in a Growth position (cell V). While the results of research using the SWOT matrix produce 14 alternative strategies that can be used to increase room occupancy rates, which consist of SW, ST, WO, and WT strategies respectively.

Abstract

The data collection method is carried out by means of documentation from various secondary sources, including; news in newspapers and mass media, journals and books to look for concepts and theories that are closely related to the problems studied. This research aims to determine opportunities for object development tourism as well as to find out strategies that can be used by managers in developing the Banto Royo tourist attraction which is located in Agam Regency, West Sumatra. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative using the SWOT analysis method to analyze systematically and see the extent to which tourist attraction development strategies are implemented in increasing interest in visits based on strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The main strategy produced is to make the best use of natural beauty with exotic views to attract the attention of local people, domestic and foreign visitors as well as utilizing local workers to explore a combination of natural and artificial potential to increase the number of visits. Apart from that, it provides restaurants, accommodation and other adequate facilities for domestic and foreign visitors so that visitors feel at home for a long time staying in the Banto Royo tourist attraction area. Apart from that, providing adequate transportation to and during the Banto Royo tourist attraction so that it becomes an easy destination for visitors. So in the IE matrix it is illustrated that the Banto Royo tourist attraction is currently in a growth position (concentration through horizontal integration or stability), namely growth or development, which is an incentive strategy such as market penetration, market development and forward development and product development or an integrated strategy such as backward integration and Horizontal IntegrationKeywords: Strategy, development, tourist attractions, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats
