Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the infl uence of perceptions, preferences, and attitude of teungku dayah on saving behavior in Islamic banks. The independent variables used in this study are perceptions, preferences, and attitudes. The dependent variable used in this study is saving behavior in Islamic banks. This study uses quantitative research methods with a survey approach. The population in this study is tengku dayah in the city of langsa totaling 45 tengku dayah, the sample in this study uses probability sampling technique with the type of sampling simple random sampling while the sample size is obtained from the calculation using the Slovin formula with a 5% error rate of 40 tengku dayah. The data sources in this study are primary data in the form of questionnaires. The data source in this study is primary data. Data analysis techniques used were parametric statistics, with multiple linear regression analysis. Measurement of questionnaires answered by respondents used a Likert scale using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 22. The results of this study indicate that the perception of teungku dayah on saving behavior in Islamic banks has a positive and signifi cant eff ect. While the preference and attitude variables do not aff ect the savings behavior in Islamic banks. While the value of adjusted R2 is 0.62 which shows the infl uence of the independent variable on the dependent variable that can be explained by the equation model is 62% and the remaining 38% is infl uenced by other factors.

Abstract

These days, sharia banking is still debatable among people. Some of them assume that profit/sharing ratio is similar to giving/return of interest rate which means that both sharia banking and conventional ones is also the same. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the people’s understanding about sharia banking, especially on saving (case study at Gampong Jawa). This is a field research by using phenomenology qualitative approach. As participants, 11 people at Gampong Jawa were interviewed to complete the data of this study. The results showed that most of them do not understand about sharia banking. However, almost of the informants were interested in saving their money at sharia banking, and only two of them were not. This shows that there are still many people who should be given an understanding of sharia banking.

Abstract

Wages are a form of compensation provided by business owners for workers. in terms of the owners, the wages are served as a guarantee for the continuity of production, while for workers the wages function to support their lives. The business owner must provide an appropriate wage for the work and the worker must work in accordance with the agreement. The problem occurs when there is no employment agreement was written on the division of labor, then the lazy workers with the diligent will get the same wage. In addition, the business owner must also ensure the wage that the worker will receive and when the employee will receive the wage. If there is no written agreement (contract), then the business owner may be fraudulent in terms of payment of wages. The purpose of this research is to find out how the process of determining the payment of wages of workers at “bolu ikan” home industry in Langsa and to analyze it based on Islamic economy. The type of research used is field study (field research) with qualitative descriptive approach. Primary data were obtained from interviews with business owners and workers at 5 “bolu ikan” home industry in Langsa, while secondary data was obtained through books, magazines, scientific papers and documents used to answer the problem of the research. The research concludes that the process of determining the payment of wages of workers at “bolu ikan” home industry in Langsa is not contradictory to the ruled of Islam, because there is a willingness of each party (mu'ajir and musta'jir). In this case, no workers feels persecuted. Each of them obtain a legitimate share of the product with it without being tyrannical towards the other and the fulfillment of the rights and obligations of each (business owner and worker).
