Abstract

The purposes of this research is to analyze the problem solving ability of student junior high school in solving social arithmetic test, the ability that hoped might by students is solving math test ability with good and true. Budiman states that fourt steps for solving the test, that are: identify sufficiency of data to solving the problem, make the model of math from any problem, pick and apply strategy for solving the problem, and then check the true of the result or the answer. The subjeck of this research is eighth grade of SMPN 3 CIMAHI that there are 36 students. The instrument that used by this study are test and interview. This study used qualitative descriptive method. Based on the analyze the data can concluded that the mistake that made by a lot of students is on the indicator understanding the problem. Student can not understand the question on social arithmetic material. On the made the math model indicator, pick the strategy of solving, problem solving, and check the result of the answer back just as student who can do on this step.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' mathematical problem solving abilities on trigonometry material. The population in this study were students of class X of Mahardhika Vocational School consisting of 33 X-1 graders majoring in Accounting and 33 X-3 Accounting students. The data analysis technique is done by giving a score on the students' answers to the test, presenting data, doing data verification, and drawing conclusions based on the analysis of the data obtained. Mathematical learning outcomes data in the form of posttest scores were analyzed using descriptive statistics and analytic statistics. The statistical test is the normality test, homogeneity test, t-test. The results of this study indicate that the results of student learning tests in the experimental class have an average value of 53.15 and the test results in the control class have an average value of 52.15. Based on the results of the t-test it can be seen from the significant data which is 0.873> 0.05 so that H0 is accepted. So that there is no significant difference between the experimental class students and the control class with mathematical problem solving skills in trigonometric material

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Kemampuan berpikir kritis sangat penting dilatih dan dikembangkan pada siswa. Salah satu aspek dari berpikir kritis adalah memeriksa kecukupan data pada masalah matematika. Keyakinan diri atau self-efficacy dalam matematika juga perlu dimiliki siswa untuk memperoleh jawaban yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi kecukupan data terhadap soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel dan self-efficacy mereka terhadap matematika. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif untuk memperoleh gambaran sebenarnya terhadap kemampuan siswa ketika menjawab soal dan self-efficacy yang dimiliki siswa setelah menjawab soal. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes, skala self-efficacy, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi kecukupan data pada soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel masih rendah, lebih dari setengah siswa memperoleh skor dengan kriteria tidak baik. Siswa kesulitan menjawab soal karena tidak terbiasa mengerjakan soal, tidak fokus pada pertanyaan, dan kemampuan operasi pembagian yang tidak baik sehingga banyak memperoleh hasil yang tidak tepat. Siswa memiliki keyakinan diri yang baik. Sebagian besar siswa setuju terhadap semua aspek self-efficacy. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara skor tes dengan self-efficacy siswa. Hubungan yang terjadi berlawanan arah, skor tes yang rendah tidak menyebabkan keyakinan diri siswa menjadi tidak baik. Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Mengidentifikasi Kecukupan Data pada Masalah Matematika, Self-Efficacy.
