Abstract

AbstractThe male sex men group is the largest contributor to the increasing incidence of HIV/AIDS. The purpose of this study is to explore The Life Experience of MSM With Positive HIV/AIDS Status in the Work Area of the Serang City Health Center in 2021. We used phenomenological data analysis with Collaizi’s approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria and the number of samples determined by data saturation, with in-depth interviews for five participants using mobile phone communication tool. The results showed new insights themes: Falling into the MSM world, MSM sexual world, desire to repent, MSM physical changes with PLWHA, fear of God, and self-stigma. There’s need to provide intensive approach in the form of more innovative education based on spiritual content with the MSM community, educating adolescents about HIV/AIDS prevention, protecting adolescents from the use of gadgets, and improving communication between parents and children. Keywords: HIV/AIDS, Life Experiences, MSM

Abstract

Mothers with positive HIV status risk to failure in role adaptation, which causes confusion in carrying out multiple roles, which results in the inaccuracy of parents in implementing parenting styles for their children. The purpose of this study was to explore in depth the meaning of the experience of mothers with HIV / AIDS as a parent in implementing parenting. The method used in this research is a qualitative method using a descriptive phenomenology approach. While the data collection method used is by using in-depth interviews until 40-60 minutes.  The participants were five people who were registered as patients at the Poli Flamboyan RSUD Kota Cilegon. We used phenomenological data analysis with Collaizi’s approach. The researcher applied the ethical principles in the form of Respect for Autonomy and self-determination, Confidentiality and anonymity, and Protection from discomfort and harm. The results obtained five themes which significantly describes wail of the wife with HIV / AIDS status, unbelieve in HIV / AIDS status, fear of being stigmatized, the impact of HIV on the adoption of parenting styles and feelings of failure to become mothers. There needs to be education or counseling for parents with HIV / AIDS regarding choosing the implementation of parenting for children along with the Peer Support Group (KDS) program for people with HIV / AIDS to increase the spirit of ODHA to continue their life.Keywords: HIV/AIDS, Mother, Parenting

Abstract

Abstract The Covid-19 pandemic is a circumstance that can trigger anxiety in the community. Anxiety can be harmful to one's mental health. The aim of this research was to determine the factors that influence public anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study is descriptive correlational research with a cross sectional approach. A total of 96 respondents were involved from three villages with the characteristics of distant, middle, and close to urban areas. Samples from each village were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Public anxiety was measured using the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale. The relationship between variables was analyzed using the Chi-Square Test. The results showed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, most people experienced anxiety (68.8%). Most of the respondents aged <40 years (68.8%), female (62.5%), junior high school education (35.5%), low economic status (66.7) and varied sources of information (75% ). The factor related to public anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic in the work area of the Kasemen Health Center was age (p value: 0.0001; OR = 11.2). Factors of gender, education, economic status, and sources of information have no relationship with public anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic. Keywords: public anxiety, Covid-19 pandemic
