Abstract

The selection and use of appropriate textbooks in the lecture process is an important factor for improving science process skills. This study aims to develop textbooks on plant morphological characteristics that are valid, practical, and effective in increasing students' ability to identify plants. The method used is research and development with a design Plomp model which consists of five stages in the form of (1) initial investigation, (2) design, (3) realization, (4) testing, evaluation, and revision, (implementation). The subjects of this study were students who took plant anatomy and morphology courses, the academic year 2020/2021 of the STKIP Soe Biology education study program. Data collection techniques in the form of observation, tests, and questionnaires. The product in the form of a textbook developed was tested for validity based on the research results of the expert team as a validator. The practicality of the product was tested using a student and lecturer response questionnaire analysis. The textbook effectiveness test was carried out through quasi-experimental research with analytical techniques using an independent sample T-test and normalized gain scores. The results showed that the textbooks developed were valid, practical, and effective to improve students' ability to identify plant species.

Abstract

Abstrak Pembelajaran fisika berbasis budaya lokal mengintegrasikan budaya lokal sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran yang melibatkan peserta didik untuk membangun pengetahuan, mengembangkan keterampilan proses sains, dan menumbuhkan sikap ilmiah. Pembelajaran fisika akan lebih bermakna apabila terdapat kesinambungan antara materi mata pelajaran dengan aktivitas kehidupan sehari-hari di lingkungan tempat tinggal peserta didik yang digunakan sebagai sarana dan sumber belajar. Hal ini dapat diperoleh melalui keterkaitan penerapan materi fisika dengan potensi lokal daerah tersebut. Anyaman adalah salah satu kearifan lokal yang terdapat pada masyarakat Desa Linamnutu, Kabupaten Timor Tengah Selatan yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber belajar khususnya dalam materi fisika. Pembelajaran fisika akan lebih bermakna jika dikaitkan dengan lingkungan tempat tinggal peserta didik khususnya dalam kearifan local anyaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsep fisika yang ada dalam proses anyaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif, teknik pengumpulan data adalah triangulasi dengan teknik analisis data berupa deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari proses anyaman terdapat konsep fisika untuk materi gaya dan Hukum Newton. Oleh karena itu, dalam proses anyaman terdapat konsep fisika. Abstract The Physics teaching and learning that based on Local culture as part of the teaching and learning process that involves students to build knowledge, develop science process skills, and foster scientific attitudes. Physics learning will be more meaningful if there is continuity between the subject material with the daily life activities in the environment where students live as a means and source of learning. This can be obtained through the connection of the application of physical material with the local potential of the area. A woven leaf is one of the local wisdom found in the society of Linamnutu Village in South Central Timor Regency, which can be used as a learning source, especially in physics materials. Physics learning will be more meaningful if it is associated with the environment, in which students live, especially in the local wisdom of woven leaf. This study aims to identify the concepts of physics that exist in the process of making the woven leaf. The research method used is qualitative research, the data collection techniques were triangulation with data analysis techniques in the form of descriptive qualitative. The results showed that from the process of making woven leaf there are physical concepts for force material and Newton's Law. Therefore, in the process of making the woven leaf, there is a physics concept. Keywords: woven leaf; physics concepts

Abstract

Biology learning is designed to provide opportunities for students to be able to solve problems in everyday life. Therefore, a learning model is needed that can construct students' knowledge in order to be able to solve problems. This study aims to examine the effect of the Problem-based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by audio-visual media on the problem-solving ability of the reproductive system material at Efata Soe High School. This research is an experimental research design (Quasi-Experimental Non-equivalent control design) with pre-test and post-test patterns. The sampling technique used was random sampling involving classes X1 and X2 as the experimental class 1, 2, and class X3 as the control class. The results of the Posthoc test with LSD found that the problem-solving ability of the audio-visual-assisted PBL experimental class and the PBL class with practicum had a sig value, 0.000> 0.05 with the conclusion that the two classes' solving abilities were not different. Meanwhile, the problem-solving ability of the experimental class 1, 2 with the control class has a sig value. 0.840 <0.05, so it can be concluded that the problem-solving abilities of the experimental class and the control class are different, this is supported by the Difference post-test scores in three classes, namely in the experimental class 1 and 2 with a value of 82.3 and 81.4 while in the control class with a value of 65.97. Abstrak: Pembelajaran biologi dirancang untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk mampu memecahkan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. oleh karena itu dibutuhkan model pembelajaran yang dapat menkonstruksikan pengetahuan siswa agar mampu memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem-based Learning (PBL) berbantuan media audio visual terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada materi sistem reproduksi di SMA Efata Soe. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen rancangan (Quasi Experimental Non-equivalent control design) dengan pola Pre-test dan Post-test. Teknik Pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling yang melibatkan kelas X1 dan X2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1, 2 dan kelas X3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil uji Posthoc dengan LSD ditemukan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah kelas experimen PBL berbantuan audio visual dan kelas PBL dengan praktikum memiliki nilai sig, 0,000>0,05 dengan kesimpulan kemampuan pemecahan kedua kelas tersebut tidak berbeda. Sedangkan, kemampuan pemecahan masalah kelas experimen 1, 2 dengan kelas kontrol mempunyai nilai sig. 0,840<0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah kelas experimen dan kelas kontrol berbeda hal ini didukung dengan nilai post-test pada ke tiga kelas tersebut berbeda yaitu pada kelas eksperimen 1 dan 2 dengan nilai 82,3 dan 81,4 sedangkan pada kelas kontrol dengan nilai 65,97.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar karakteristik morfologi tumbuhan yang valid, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengidentifikasi tumbuhan pada matakuliah anatomi dan morfologi tumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dengan desain pengembangan mengikuti model Plomp yang terdiri dari lima tahapan berupa (1) investigasi awal, (2) desain, (3) realisasi/konstruksi, (4) tes, evaluasi dan revisi, (implementasi). Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah anatomi dan morfologi tumbuhan, tahun akademik 2020/2021 program studi pendidikan Biologi STKIP Soe. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, tes dan angket. Produk berupa buku ajar karakteristik morfologi tumbuhan yang dikembangkan diuji validitasnya berdasarkan hasil penelitian dari tim ahli sebagai validator. Kepraktisan produk diuji menggunakan analisis angket respon mahasiswa dan dosen. Uji keefektifan buku ajar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengidentifikasi tumbuhan dilakukan melalui penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan teknik analisis menggunakan uji t sampel independen dan skor gain normalisasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar karakteristik morfologi tumbuhan yang dikembangkan valid, praktis dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam mengidentifikasi jenis tumbuhan.

Abstract

Pandemic Covid-19 had a significant impact on the education sector, requiring learning is done online. This causes the science learning process in junior high school Negeri 1 Soe, changing the face-to-face learning system to online learning with using WhatsApp as a science learning medium. This study aims to analyze constraints and alternatives in the science learning process at SMP Negeri 1 Soe during the Covid-19 Includes 3 main components, namely planning, implementation and evaluation of learning. This research carried out on 16 students and 1 teacher of science subjects using the approach qualitative descriptive. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model data analysis through 3 stages, namely data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions. The results of this study shows that students experience obstacles and difficulties such as, students do not have laptops, smartphone, inadequate internet network, minimal internet quota and difficulty doing the science practicum method. Based on these obstacles, the teacher provide an alternative for distributing student books containing materials and homework students according to the time and schedule of science lessons. This is done to overcome several obstacles and reduce the burden on students during the online science learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic.
